  9. Underwater photographers who know their stuff (or have a great photography gear guru like I have) know that the old but good Sigma 14mm f3.5 lens is one of the sharpest wide-angle, rectilinear lenses around. I’ve been a professional underwater photographer for a long while, and my guru (Ryan Canon at Reef Photo) recommended this hard-to-find lens for wide-angle shooting with my Nikon D800 camera. Being my usual overzealous self, I bought this lens on Ebay a couple of months ago, but then found another len in even better condition. This lens takes great images and the autofocus works just fine, even with my new Nikon D800 camera. Note that this is an older lens than the newer Sigma 14mm f2.8 and is considered sharper, and better for underwater photography (and likely topside photography). There are two things to know before you buy this lens. There is a small scratch on the lens. I can't see that this scratch affects the images taken with the lens. You can't even see the scratch unless you view the lens at a certain angle. I took dozens of photos to show the scratch on the lens -- you can finally see it in the last image in this listing. The lens cap/cover is not the original lens cap/hood that comes with this lens. It's something I fashioned out of another lens hood and lens cap. I bought this lens and it did not come with a lens cap. It will be difficult to find another lens cap that fits this perfectly. The one I've fashioned will work OK but is by no means perfect. It is simply a cover that falls off, not like the original cap/hood that stays on. You can likely put some rubber or wetsuit material on the inside of this hood to make it stay on. I just kept the lens in the lens case or camera bag. Otherwise, the lens is in great shape and I am selling it for exactly what I bought it for ($255 plus 3% for Paypal purchases for a total of $263), which is a pretty good deal. Condition: GOOD Condition Comments: Lens contains moderate cosmetic wear and light internal dust. Lens also contains lightly scratched glass. Lens cap/hood is not the original and does not fit well. See notes below. Includes: Rear cap, case Fully Tested and Works Properly. Item pictured is the actual item for sale. If you are interested, please contact Norbert Wu at temp2_at_norbertwu.com. Please no phone calls. I am happy to entertain reasonable offers. I can accept credit cards, Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. Money orders and personal checks will have to clear my bank before the product is shipped; which can take up to three weeks. Shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping via one of the above methods. I can ship internationally via Fedex International Priority or Economy. Thanks! Norbert Wu

  13. Does anyone have any experience of using one of these things (or similar)? What degree of automation do they give? Are they compatible with a Nauticam housing and port? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEO-Canon-EOS-EF-EF-S-lens-to-Sony-NEX-E-adapter-AF-AUTOFOCUS-USM-I-S-Work-/181093083503?
  14. I'm selling my classic Nikon 60mm macro only because I share lenses with my wife and this lens won't auto focus with her new D3200 (no internal focus motor) and she doesn't like to rely on manual focus. Consequently I've moved to the new 60mm G lens. The lens is in extremely clean condition. No fungus, only insignificant, normal amount of dust between elements. Barrel has almost no wear marks. Never been wet. Takes brilliant photos. asking $275 PM me here if you are interested. -Kip

  16. Hi I have a Canon 16-35mm f2.8L II lens with a Nauticam housing and I was wondering what the best Glass Dome would be for that lens? I am looking at the Nauticam 9inch glass dome but I have heard that it lacks sharpness at the corners. Has anyone had any experience with this set up and experienced the same problem? Any opinions on how to improve this problem or recommendations for domes that dont have this issue with this lens would be appreciated. Thanks.

  19. Hi, fellow u/w photographers. I recently sold my Recsea/FIX S90 metal housing to a friend who doesn't need the two wet lenses I had, so they're available at half the retail price. I bought them from Backscatter and they're both in excellent condition. Here's a link to some sample shots. I took all of the wides and macro shots in the first two sets (Little Cayman and Grand Cayman, and Yap) with these lenses and the Canon S90: www.flickr.com/photos/firststage.sets The UWL-04 ultra wide (weitwinkel) Angle Fisheye comes with a 67/52 mm adapter so it can be attached to any port that accepts either of those sizes. It has a 165 degree field of view. The FIX Easy Close Up 2 Element macro set screws into 52 mm threads so that both of its lenses can be swung out of the way when not in use, or swung in front of the lens individually or together for super-macro shots. Either one will fit in the Inon lens holder "caddy" that attaches to a standard Ultralight Control Systems arm. The UWL-04 currently sells for $425. It's yours with the adapter for $200. The Easy Closeup 2-element lens set originally sold for $200. It's yours for $100. The Inon Lens Holder/Caddy originally cost $64. I'll sell it for $32. Prices are firm, and payment is accepted via PayPal only. I'll cover ground UPS or USPS shipping within the USA. If you're overseas, please tell me how you'd like things shipped and I'll send you a quote for actual shipping costs. Thanks for looking!
  20. Before going on my dive this morning, I found a spot of condensation about the size of a US quarter on the inside of my Subsea +5. It was pretty hot and humid this morning so I placed the lens in the water to cool it down and to see if the condensation would go away. It did shrink the size down by a bit and by the end of the dive it had gone completely. At the end of the dive after sitting outside for no more than 10 minutes, the condensation came back. Now that I'm home and the lens is in my air conditioned house it's completely gone and the lens is clear. Is this a defect in the lens? I would think that the unit should be completely sealed and no condensation should appear on the inside. I couldn't find any droplets of water inside the lens upon inspection so nothing appears to be getting inside the lens. Any ideas would be appreciated.

  23. Mint Condition, a Coveted Professional Wide-Angle Lens I bought this lens in late 2011, and just never got around to using it (hey, I am an underwater guy, and I don’t shoot that much topside!). It has sat on the counter in my humidity-controlled workshop for the past 14 months. I’ve used it for a grand total of two times for about 20 minutes to try it out. This lens is in excellent shape, showing no signs of wear, no scuff marks, scratches etc. Glass is perfect, focusing is perfect and firm, no dings or scratches. This sale will include the original front and rear lens caps, instruction booklet, and lens hood. Sorry but I can’t find the box. I see that the lens sells for $2000 on B&H. Asking $1799 for the lens and accessories. Thanks! Norbert Wu
  24. Hi folks, There seems to be two main lens options for rectilinear ultra-wide (weitwinkel) angle (so no fisheye) in the micro four-thirds galaxy: Panasonic 7-14mm and Olympus 9-18mm. Which one is best? In case the answers are "it dependsish", I would look at the following scenario: Camera = Olympus OM-D EM5. Things that matter (for me): -Sharpness -Image quality in general (I read on DPreview that the 7-14 Pana's cromatic aberrations were discarded by in-camera software on Pana cameras, but not on Oly ones, is that an issue underwater?) -Good for Close Focus Wide Angle. -Fast AF thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts & experience :-) Nicolas
