  7. Does anyone use the Panasonic f/1,7 15mm lens with a Nauticam Housing on their GH5 rig? Does it work ok with the WWL-1 wide angle adaptor or would there be vignetting? Nauticams port charts don't support using the Panasonic f/1.7 15mm with any port but I recall someone saying it worked well. Would you use the Nauticam N85 Power Zoom Macro Port 29, and would you be able to put the WWL-1 on that port without any vignetting or other issues? -Roger Uzun
  8. Hi fellows, I’d like to share with you my test for the GH5s. The primary focus was to test how would the camera produce colors with just ambient light. The secondary was to test the autofocus in challenging conditions. The clips were taking around 25m in bad visibility and with a lot of particles. Thirdly, I wanted to test the low light performance. The amount of light in summer at 25m in our seas is relatively dim. And it presented a good test for the light sensitivity of the camera which I sat to variable with a maximum of iso 6400. This is a result of two dives on the same day. My rig still needs balancing. I am quite pleased with the camera ability to produce such good color rendition when white balanced on a gray card with a red filter. My gray gloves which are a shade darker than the 10% gray card produced more pleasing colors and needed little or no color grading in post beside exposure adjustment. The autofocus, despite the challenging conditions with bad visibility and numerous particles, was really good and definitely much more better than my aging eyes it is fair to say that it can do the job more than 90% of the times. The low light performance was good which resulted in better exposure, color production and autofocus. I know many would prefer the GH5 over the GH5s due to the lack of IBIS. Honestly, I have not tried IBIS underwater and I have read mixed reviews. However, the color rendition of this camera in ambient light is beyond the capability of the GH5 and overweighs the IBIS in my opinion. The setup: Nuaticam housing with 7” dome, Dive and See 5.5 monitor, Panasonic 12-35mm 2.8 version ii, Red filter, Standard picture profile, Variable ISO with maximum 6400 https://youtu.be/X1fKNylMj74

  14. Hello! Like the title states, is it worth spending the money to upgrade from a G7 to G85? How effective is IBIS stabilization underwater? Even with a double handed rig? Purpose of this camera is for marine conservation purposes - on land and in water - interviews, day-to-day, marine life, volunteer work, etc. So that rules out the GX85, because of no mic input. So next contender is the G85. I already have the lenses for m4/3, so I want to just change bodies.
  15. Youtube is full of review of this little camera for land use. Except a couple of video at Backscatter I don't see any real user feedback for underwater use. Nauticam provides the ubiquitous WWL-1 to get wide angle shots but when you add over 1000$ to the kit you end up in another territory... Is there some other cheaper but effective solution to get wide shots? I don't care about macro. Thank you in advance

  17. Selling my Nauticam NA-GX8 housing on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nauticam-NA-GX8-Housing-for-Panasonic-GX8-camera/272951739320 $ 790.00 + free shipping
  18. Hi All My Panasonic/Nauticam GX1 setup has served me well but is due an upgrade. I'm looking at the GX85 and liking the look of it's compact form. The only significant downside I can see is the slow flash sync speed. Is anyone using this camera primarily for stills and finding the sync speed a problem? I think if you used a flash trigger rather than the inbuilt flash then you should be able to bump speed up a notch (probably 1/250th) but that nauticam housing is really small, not sure it would fit. Has anyone tried this? Cheers Joe

  20. Hi, does anyone have any suggestion where I might rent NA-GH4 housing in USA? I've searched Internet however that led me to businesses dealing in higher-end cinema equipment rather than consumer housing like this. I'm sure must be plenty of them out there, so any leads I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance. Wade
  21. This housing is in excellent working and cosmetic condition. The photos show the housing with my preferred setup (dovetail plates on top of the arms rather than balls). I will set up the housing as it comes new from the factory, with mounting balls on top of the arms. (The HDMI bulkhead will be removed and replaced with a bulkhead plug). You will receive a housing that has all the parts that Nauticam sells with its new housing, along with a vacuum valve and alarm (no vacuum pump included). The first two images are what the housing will look like once delivered --I will put the original balls back on the arms. The other images are what the housing actually looks like. You will get the housing in the 3rd and higher images, but with ball mounts on top of the arms. You can see that the rear window of the housing is almost entirely free of any scratches -- the housing is in excellent cosmetic and perfect working condition. There are about 3 or 4 very tiny scuffs and scratches in the rear window that are invisible both underwater and when viewed directly. They can only be seen if you look carefully from the side. I really enjoy using these housings. They are compact and easy to put together. Selling the housing and vacuum valve (no pump) for $1600. If you don't want the vacuum valve, then the housing alone will be $1550. If you are interested, please contact Norb Wu at temp2_at_norbertwu.com. Please no phone calls. I am happy to entertain reasonable offers. The location is the Monterey area in California. I prefer Square Cash or Paypal personal transfers that do not charge fees to the seller or buyer. If you prefer to pay with a credit card, then I will split the 3% fee with you which is charged to the seller. I can accept credit cards through Square (which is great; I can send you an invoice which you can then pay with a credit card or bank account; I never see the account number or credit card number). Shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping via one of the above methods. Thanks! Norbert Wu
  22. A New Panasonic Camera was officially announced today! A relatively affordable (mid-range): LUMIX GX85 4K Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera Kit, 12-32mm Lens, 16 Megapixels, Dual Image Stabilization, Electronic Viewfinder, WiFi - Black Features New 5-axis in-body sensor stabilizer works with LUMIX 2-axis optically stabilized lenses in video and still capture modes using class-leading Dual Image Stabilization. Eliminates the need for low-pass sensor filters while boosting fine detail resolving power by nearly 10% over existing 16-Megapixel MFT sensors. Shoot lighter and faster with the modern hybrid photography performance of a Mirrorless camera and nearly half the bulk of most DSLRs. Thumbwheel controls, integrated viewfinder and touch control enabled tilting LCD maximize control of the photographic experience. Capture spontaneous moments with 4K imaging performance in both 4K video and exclusive 4K PHOTO and Post Focus. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the included lens would work well with the WWL-1? How soon do you think it will be for housing to be available for this (I have a trip in min-June planned)?
