  2. Great little macro lens that has been used a handful of times. Much prefer wide angle photography and have only set up my underwater camera for macro once. Played around with this lens a few times at home and thats it, basically new. The port has a few scratches on the inside glass around the edge as shown in the photo. I stupidly stored the lens inside the port. Luckily the primary lens is quite small and is no where near the marks, therefore there is no way they can affect the photo. Port and focus ring will fit the Recsea housing for both the Panasonic GF1 and GF2. Port and focus ring alone cost over $450 Looking for $650 plus postage for the lot.
  3. Hi all, I'm about to jump to the Oly set up and would like to be a little more knowledgeable as to what is preferred and why. I do enjoy wide angle underwater photography, especially on Cocos (Keeling) Islands with our blue water and mantas. I also enjoy landscape photography so a "one lens fits all" to minimise the size of the kit would be marvellous. If it isn't practical, then so be it. What are the preferred wide angle lenses for the OM-D EM-5 or EM-1? And, which ports for what lens? Thanks in advance Karen

  13. Hi folks, There seems to be two main lens options for rectilinear ultra-wide (weitwinkel) angle (so no fisheye) in the micro four-thirds galaxy: Panasonic 7-14mm and Olympus 9-18mm. Which one is best? In case the answers are "it dependsish", I would look at the following scenario: Camera = Olympus OM-D EM5. Things that matter (for me): -Sharpness -Image quality in general (I read on DPreview that the 7-14 Pana's cromatic aberrations were discarded by in-camera software on Pana cameras, but not on Oly ones, is that an issue underwater?) -Good for Close Focus Wide Angle. -Fast AF thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts & experience :-) Nicolas

If purchased new prices would be: Housing USD 1599 7 - 14 Port USD 949 8mm Macro Port USD 549 45mm Macro Port USD 289 Total price for this system new is USD 3,386 To confirm prices and see that this is still current stock goto: http://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/recsea-gf2-housing%20 Selling for a steal as I have moved across to a Canon 5D Mk III If you are interested in buying part of this set-up please contact me. Manufacturer Info Recsea GF2 housing The Panasonic GF2 is a competitor to the Olympus E-PL2 and E-PL3, and it accepts the same lenses. The auto-focus on this camera is very fast, and the Recsea housing is exceptional. It's very small, very ergonomic and some pros are starting to use this tiny setup as an alternative to larger dSLR systems that have more drag underwater, especially when a lot of swimming and/or snorkeling has to be done. The complete system is a great value for what you are getting. One of the main reasons people go for a mirrorless setup is the smaller size. This is where the Recsea GF2 setup really delivers, regardless of the lens, and is one of the reasons this is our best quality choice. We recommend the GF2 over the GF3, because Panasonic actually took away several important features to make the GF3 smaller and simpler. The GF2 is small and simple enough - and without a doubt should be chosen over the GF3. For the smallest possible high-performance mirrorless camera setup in a high-end aluminum housing, the Recsea GF2 is a clear choice. Recsea GF2 Features * Sturdy precision machined corrosion resistant aluminum and polycarbonate body. * Compact and lightweight with depth rating of 60 meters (200 feet). * Dual Back Cover O-rings and dual Port to Lens Port O-ring system. * Wide range of Lens Ports, Focus Gears, and supported optional accessories. * The housing allows complete control over all camera functions * Mount adapters are available for 67mm and ST mounts * All ports sold separately and are not included with the housing Recsea GF2 Specifications: * Compatible Camera: PANASONIC LUMIX GF2 * Maximum Depth: 60 meters (200 feet) * Material: Main Body - Corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, Anodized. Levers, Dials, Buttons - POM, PC. Monitor - Hard Coat Acrylic; Screws, Springs - Stainless Steel, Galvanized * Size (Housing): Approx. 158mm X 77mm X 100mm * Weight (Housing): Land approx. 690g (Body only); Fresh Water approx. 320g (with Lumix GF2 Camera and 45mm Macro Lens Port)

  18. I have a very large collection of Panasonic Micro FourThirds Camera Gear with RecSea Housing. I have owned most of this gear for approximately 12 months - all purchased new. The gear has been very well looked after being rinsed after every dive. All buttons are working well, no grit anywhere and fully waterproof. None of the gear has ever been flooded. My collection consists of (new price in brackets): Panasonic GF1 Camers - $600 Recsea GF1 Underwater Housing - $1,900 Panasonic GF2 Camera - $600 RecSea GF2 Housing - $1800 Panasonic 7 - 14mm Wide Angle Zoom Lens - $900 RecSea Port for 7 - 14 Lens - $950 Panasonic 45mm Macro lens - $750 Recsea Port for 45mm Macro - $290 Panasonic 8mm Fisheye Lens - $600 RecSea Fisheye Port - $600 Pansonic 20mm Pancake lens - $350 RecSea Port for 20mm lens with lens port removal tool - $240 Panasonic EVF for GF2 (cannot be used underwater) - $150 2 x Inon s2000 Strobes - $550 2 x Inon Optic Sync Cords for Strobes - $60 The lenses are in perfect condition, optics perfect no scratches on barrels. The strobes have very faint markings on them from storage but are 9 out of 10. perfect working order. The GF2 is in as new condition. The GF1 is in excellent condition except there is crack in the LCD protector screen (not the LCD itself). All equipment is guaranteed to be 100% working or money refunded. I have upgraded my underwater equipment to the new Canon 5D Mk III with Nauticam Housing so its time to sell my old gear. If you are after lightweight gear that is easier to travel with but has similar picture quality to the best SLR's this is what you are after. I only updated as I have got into wildlife photography so need some bigger and faster lens (400 f2.8) so decided to upgrade the whole thing. Here's the bonus - I understand that the price of second hand micro fourthirds is significantly lower than the new price as the bodies do get upgraded. However the quality of the new models has not significantly improved. The lens are are still the best available for cameras of this size. I don't expect to sell it as a whole kit, but in the first instance will be hoping for some groups to go as one. You have the prices new above - make me an offer for what you want. Only included low res photos of some items due to restrictions on this website. PM me for other emails.

  23. I recently changed my way of thinking and stepped from shooting with a dSLR to an Olympus PEN (EPL2). I am very impressed with the system, its size, its ergonomics and its photographic capabilities and have posted my first photos to my Flickr account. A couple of weeks ago I also started a new group on Flickr named Underwater Micro Four Thirds. Anyone is welcome to join, and feel free to upload photos taken with your Micro Four Thirds camera's (Olympus or Panasonic).
