  1. FOR SALE is one nice high end HD camera in a professionally modified housing (Originally started out life as a Phenom Housing). The whole unit has had relatively low hours of use and has been well maintained. Delivers beautiful pictures on the famed EOS Cinema line. The big bonus here is that this camera "speaks" to the native Canon L Series line of lenses. I have mainly used it with the Canon 14mm prime and 50mm macro prime. In addition any EF lenses lenses will work including the ultra wide (weitwinkel) Tokina 11-16mm which I use. I would also include a support rig largely consisting of Zacuto mounts, a tough arm for EVF mounting, 2 x 64 GB CF cards, 2 x 32 GB CF cards, 4 x batteries and a free pelican case and travel bag. The camera and housing are currently in New Zealand but can be shipped anywhere. $15,000 USD. Email: mrjones.media@gmail.com
  2. For sale is a very good condition Sony NEX-7, black kit lens (with caps and hood!), battery, charger, and a good condition Meikon NEX-7 dive housing. The original (quite premium!) box for the NEX-7 and its kit lens is included. All accessories are OEM and not third party (excluding the housing of course). All functions work great with the housing, except the dial that rotates the rear scroll wheel slips. I will try to get it to work better before it ships out, but it may just be a design "feature". To be clear, both of the top two dials work flawlessly. Pics coming soon! Price: $399 shipped! Buyer to pay 3% paypal fee or use gift if they are comfortable with that.
  3. At long last, the images from my final trip, Raja Ampat aboard Indo Siren.
  4. Hello all, I wanted to share a short film I have put together. Those that know me and my filming style, know that I don't personally like to narrate, nor have divers in my shots....well with this film this was all unavoidable. Ever since I have been diving, I have wanted to have an up close and personal interaction with Manta Rays. I have been all of the world waiting for this magical opportunity. Thousands of miles traveled and dollars spent, I went to some of the best places in the world to pursue this dream of mine. Whether it be weather, bad luck, or illness, something always seemed to get in the way. It was very frustrating. This film is about how the manta curse eventually got broken. I figured this is my story, and I needed to tell it. So outsourcing the narration didn't make sense. Hence the poor narration...:-). Anyhow, Please let me know things you like and don't like about it. Always willing to try to improve and get pointers from others. I hope you enjoy it! Dustin Or Youtube
  5. Hi all! I'm a documentary filmmaker who just wrapped up 6-months of shooting a documentary series on the invasive lionfish in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. As a filmmaker, I bought a nauticam housing for my Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera to be able to shoot in beautiful RAW with a flat picture profile. It takes some coloring once you're done, but the results are pretty great. I'm moving back away from the sea, so I won't have time to pursue my new underwater video passion for a few years. But this is an awesome setup (and small, light, and generally easy) for someone who is looking to really get into underwater filmmaking. DOME fits Panasonic 7-14mm lens and a few other lenses, I believe. Everything is in great condition. I rinsed each piece of equipment thoroughly after each dive and lubed up the O-Rings before almost every dive. The housing has never been flooded and comes with the electronic vacuum check. NOTE: You will need to replace the battery for the vacuum seal to work. They're cheap. A couple of small notes: - The nauticam doesn't line up perfectly with the record button, so you'll need to put a tiny bit of padding on the grip of the Black Magic (I use a bit of microfiber cloth folded twice) to line up the record button with the actual depressor. It works fine once you spend a few minutes getting it right. - The dome has a small buff on it. Not sure when or how it got smudged, but it doesn't show up in any of the underwater footage. If you're above water and pointing it against a blue sky, you can see it at the lenses widest angle (7mm), but zoom in at all and you can't see it anymore. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

  13. The last two weeks have seen me aboard World-wide Dive and Sail's Indo-Siren, with Alex Mustard's latest workshop and Alex Tattersall's latest demonstration of Nauticam widgetry... Flying into Sorong, the scenery grows more and more dramatic as the amenities of civilisation become a little frayed at the edges. How a boat like the Indo-Siren maintains such a high quality is something of a mystery, and one made harder by the pervasive humid heat and bureaucracy that has to be propitiated in order to leave port. An even greater mystery: having eventually encountered the elusive manta ray and the reclusive whale shark (at least they were elusive and reclusive on my dives), would I wonder at the wary wobbegong? Wobbegongs would have to wait: Daram, south and east of Misool, was our first destination and "Andiamo" our first dive and a taste of the dramatic colours, corals, fish and topography that makes Raja Ampat so special. Sunshine, calm seas and surprisingly gentle currents held us entranced around Misool for several days. "Andiamo" rewarded us with shoals of fish, dancing around shoals of other fish, and wasn't by any means the only site blessed by abundance. The chaotic profusion of life in this sea is a reminder of what so much of the ocean was like, once upon a time. Eventually we moved north, into wetter weather and seas a little rougher, and into the haunt of the wobbegong, the tropical forest, the mangrove and the Passage, where all three are tangled together and Alfred Russel Wallace, a singularly unfortunate natural historian, was once shipwrecked. The weather detracted something from Aerborek jetty, the site of so many prize-winning photographs and one of the noisiest dive sites (thanks to a chorus of toadfish) I've visited. Nonetheless, there were fish, more fish, very small fish (Hippocampus pontohi is not best seen by ageing eyes)... ... and wobbegongs. I would like to say that everything was marvellous and, as far as Alex's workshop and Indo-Siren were concerned, so it was. Mark and Dince, the other guides, the chef, the other crew were without equal and no praise is too much. Indonesian air travel, however... ... was not so great: booked onto a flight without seats, half of our party left early to arrive late, flew east to travel west and made three hops for the price of one. I can't say if the problem was with British travel agency Blue-O-Two or with the vagaries of several competing but apparently interchangeable Indonesia airlines, but I can say that it added a lot to the frustrations inherent in returning from what is still, in many ways, a wild place.
  14. FOR SALE: Anthis Nexus 40D Housing for Canon 40D or 50D DSLR Camera Owned from new and cared for impeccably. This professional underwater housing comes with the following: Nexus 40D housing (new price over $2600 – when purchased was over $3000) Canon 40D Camera (new price around $1500) Canon 18-55 EFS f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens (good general purpose lens) Canon 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens (New price over $1000) Nexus Flat port to suit 18-55 Lens (New price over $500) Nexus Optical Dome port to suit 10-22 Wide angle lens (New price over $1000) Extra Body and port Orings and other spares. Extras include rubber port caps, Handle extensions both sides, clear filter kit for flash, Silicon grease and original packaging and manuals. Ports are full alloy, with glass optical quality lenses. Nexus Housings have a depth rating of 75m. The wide angle lens and port were purchased new in 2011. This is a fantastic optical glass port and is ultra compact compared to many of the enormous domes you see in water. I am not selling my strobes. As it is, the housing is compatible with any TTL Fibreoptic strobe connections. There are 2 fibreoptic ports on this housing. TTL and the fibreoptic connection is an amazing system that has no electric connections thereby minimising the risk of flooding. The nexus housing is also suitable for standard Nikonos sync ports. Inon make a fantastic 45deg viewfinder that attaches easily providing a FULL view of the frame even with a scuba mask on! I am not selling this. Nexus make a fantastic product. I am selling only to upgrade to a Nexus housing for my Canon 5D. I will be staying with Nexus housings. I would prefer to sell the housing as a complete kit, but will consider offers (eg without the camera or individual ports/lenses). The kit is ready to use now, but will be fully complete with the addition of a strobe. Will consider offers over $3500. A search on the internet found a previously sold housing without the ports, lenses and camera for $2500. You will never buy such a package that is ready to go for such a low price. I will happily offer ongoing advice on use, care and maintenance. Postage will be at cost price depending on location and can be with or without insurance. Buyer's preference.

So my loss your gain everything is in perfect working condition housing never been wet nor has the camera. camera takes amazing pictures and super user friendly and same with the housing all the button line up with the camera buttons so no need to learn anything new in the water. Asking 2,700OBO text or call Ryan 772-215-6865 forum wont allow me to upload pics so text me I can send them to you.
  20. One week old, only used once, this is the best underwater housing for the Sony Alpha series out there. It comes packed like new with all the manuals and extra stuff packed in their original packaging. It comes with the dome and manual zoom extension ideally for the Sony Vario Tessar 16-35mm F4, which for this housing is the best lense to use since you have a zeiss lense with a wide 16mm and an awesome in between all the way to 35mm. But this dome also supports smaller lenses as well as longer lenses because the extension is an individual part. It also includes de vacuum pump system. Is literally new, we just decided to move up to a Red Epic so is not longer the best solution for our production company. The price for all this items icluding taxes was 5340$. We are willing to loose the tax to sell this sooner since it has no use for us anymore. Here is the link for the product: http://www.nauticamu...ory=Sony A7/A7R

  23. Hi all - you may have seen a few posts of mine here. I am in the midst of deciding what camera to get. I was wondering if anyone had a housing (any brand) from the Nikon D600/D610 they wanted to sell? Cheers, Lloyd
  24. So I went on my dream trip last year with my mother to snorkel with the Humpbacks. It the first time for both of to be snorkeling, let alone with whales so we decided to take it easy on get cheaper camera equipment. I got a Lumix underwater camera for both of us. Mine ended up malfunctioning on the 2nd day. Thankfully my mother's did not so I was able to get some decent shots. We are planning on going back in 2017. As for the pictures themselves, well... I'm not very pleased with them. I wasn't expecting spectacular quality, but not one of the best shots that I got prints well. I know with photography, you get what you pay for so I'm looking to get some guidance on what kind of cameras I should look into for my next trip as well as what I can do technique wise to get better shots. I'm assuming a DSLR would be my best bet? What about filters, are any type of filters recommended? Lastly, what settings should I shoot in? Here are a few pics from my trip last year. I'm not happy with the "noise" in the water, but I'm sure the camera I used has something to do with it. I think with a better camera it likely would've been a lot better. I should note that we did have pretty murky water so maybe there's not much that could've been done? I just don't know... The last pic with mom under her pec fin is my favorite from the whole trip and it looks horrible printed.
