  1. Hi everyone Ive been around the forum for a while but never posted before. Im in a bit of a quandary, I have a nice 5DmkIV but no experience or equipment for underwater. To date Ive used go pros and recently purchased the 7 black. Im by no means a professional, I like to take photos blow them up and hang them on the wall and in a coffee table book I put together but thats it. Ive read a lot of good stuff on the TG5, and Ive been watching some underwater housings for my canon, but the more I read and learn the more indecisive I get. I have a dive trip to Bimini to swim with hammerheads in a couple weeks, from what Ive heard thats only 15-25 feet deep and want to take some great photos! Debating if strobes would be necessary and toying with getting strobes for the GoPro? Is that silly? Then I have a trip to Fiji next month which Id like to bring some equipment, but dont really want to lug a huge pelican case across the planet. Is there a efficient backpack size setup for my Canon that I can get? Does anyone have experience with a GoPro and strobes? Is the Olympus significantly better than the GoPro? Does anyone have any tips for hammerheads? Ive read a few posts. Also is anyone selling an old housing or set up that would fit my mkIV. Thanks for any and all responses, I feel like im out of my depth here.
  2. Hello, I'm looking for a Canon 5d Mark II Housing. I would like a Subal or Aquatica. I would like to find one for a good price, since the camera has already 10 years +. I will not consider Ikelite or Diveross housing unless they are very very very very very cheap price. Place your proposals! Thanks
  3. Sea and Sea MDX-Pro 5D Mark II housing for sale Used for 1 year, 3 dive trips, excellent condition. Asking for $2700USD, VF45 viewfinder not included (include normal factory default viewfinder).
  4. Hello! I am selling an Aquatica housing for Canon 5D Mark II that has accompanied me for a couple of years. It is an extremely robust and reliable piece of kit, which has never flooded nor given me any trouble. I need to sell it because (against my will...!) I am moving to Sony. I have added a couple of pictures I took with it so you can get an idea of the potential. The pack includes: -Aquatica housing: It is used but in good working condition. The housing has acoustic and visual water sensor, an hydrophone cable and the flash cable. Very practical -8'' dome: has one very tiny scratch that should be easy to remove, and that is invisible on the pictures anyway. Include a shade and a neoprene cover. -Flash cables: 2x short nikonos cables (5pin) + 2x10m nikonos cables (5pin), ideal for landscape or studio pictures -Canon 5D Mark II body: little cosmetic imperfections, but in excellent condition. Never fell on the floor -Canon 20mm/F2.8: excellent optic for landscape photography. It has a couple of cosmetic imperfections that were there when I bought it, but it works perfectly. -Accessories: 2xBattery + Battery charger + 2 x16G memory card + Camera strap Do not hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions. Have a nice day!
  5. A great chance to own a great setup. Capture high quality underwater photos and videos with full controls and the security of a bullet proof housing, handmade in Italy that can reach the depths of 197 feet. I have owned the camera for 2.5 years and I have owned the Nimar setup for about a year. Probably used this underwater about 20 times and always fully cleaned and serviced everything. I also have multiple backup seals and the manuals is included. Below you will find all my package discount prices for this setup. I am not interested in selling separately at this time. Email me at kit@holoholocharterss.com, if you have any questions or request. Canon 5d Mark iii $1100 Nimar pro underwater 197' depth - $900 Nimar pro fisheye dome port $250 Nimar pro 24-70 f2.8 and 50mm lens port with zoom $300 (lens not included) Canon 15mm lens for over/under shots $200 Total package deal $2750
  6. For sale is my much loved FL Ikelite housing, 8 “ dome port, macro port and port extensions. The reason for sale is I am moving to the Ikelite DL style housing therefore everything for the FL setup is being sold. I use this equipment for work so it has been used but meticulously taken care of. Soaking in fresh water and pressing buttons after every use and then soaking in warm fresh water every couple of weeks. There are some cosmetic blemishes which do not affect the functionality or integrity of the housing whatsoever. The dome shade (just the plastic shade not the dome port) has some small cracks in the plastic which I have glued to prevent cracking further. The tray has the usual scratches and scuffs from resting on surfaces. The rubber handles are slightly worn. The neoprene dome port cover has some wetsuit glue on the seams to hold the stitching together. I have included pictures of all of this. Please let me know if you would like more. Please understand this is a used housing so does have obvious signs of use but it has never been flooded and it functions 100% the same as the day I bought it 2 years ago. Here is a list of parts included and prices (if selling individually) Canon 5d mkiii FL housing - 6871.03 $900 Modular 8" Dome - 5510.45 $200 Port extension - 5510.24 $70 Port extension - 5510.11 (attached to the dome port in pictures) $60 Macro Port - 5505.45 $90 Universal zoom and focus gear for lenses $10 I would prefer to sell as a package so price will be $1150USD if bought together. The lenses I have used with this setup are the Canon 100mm IS macro, Tokina 10-17mm and Canon 16-35mm mkii. You can refer to Ikelite’s port chart on their website to see all compatible lenses. I am currently on Tioman Island, Malaysia but will be travelling to Singapore and then Florida on the 17th of July. Therefor you can collect or I can post to you from any of those locations. I accept PayPal, bank transfer etc… Please let me know if you have any questions. You can also contact me at: GrantJPThomas@gmail.com

  8. SPL A-Series 1D MK IV / III Water Housing (fits 5D MK III - see text) Very good condition. Works perfectly. Only used a couple of times. Ports have no scratches that might show up on images. O-rings in very good condition. The housing seals tightly. No rust. Pistol grip works great. It is also very easy to manipulate ISO, Shutter Speed, and F-stop. A-Series housings are made of light-weight aluminum and belong to the most durable housings on the market. The removable pistol grip (included) has a two stage trigger similar to the shutter buttons of most DSLRs. The housing has an option to add a detachable flash housing (not included). Included: SPL A-Series Canon 1D Mark IV water housing SPL Front Plate SPL Fisheye Port incl. neoprene port cover (fits lenses like Tokina 10-17, Sigma 15 2.8) SPL Short Flat Port incl. neoprene port cover (fits lenses like Canon 50mm 1.8) SPL Pistol Grip SPL wing nuts Rubber seal lubricant Spare screws Please contact me in case you are unsure if your lens will fit the ports. The housing is designed to fit a Canon 1D MK4 (camera not included). The 1D MK3 also fits the housing. The following buttons are accessible when a 1D MK4 /MK3 is placed inside the housing: Shutter Button Shutter Speed Dial +/- Button (Exposure Compensation / Aperture Button) ISO Button Quick Control Dial SET Button inside Quick Control Dial I used a Canon 5D MKIII inside the housing by adding some removeable padding. The position of most buttons on the 1D MKIV and 5D III is very similar when you add approx. 40mm of padding to the bottom of the 5D MK III. Check www.camerasize.com for more details. The padding was removed for the photos. However, if you are planning on using a 5D MKIII inside the housing, please let me know and I'll add the padding back to the housing for free before packing it for shipping. With the padding, I was able to access the following buttons: Shutter Button Shutter Speed Dial WB (White Balance) Button AF Drive Button ISO Button I haven't tested it out, but I can imagine that with some adjustments to the padding a 5D MKIV or 5D MKII might also work. Looking for 990€ - US$1060 - negotiable Worldwide shipping Contact: tim@kahlhofen.de

  11. Canon 5D mark2 mkII Complete underwater still camera video package Asking 3300$ Complete and tested. Pictures at: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5lax1ob8404x90k/AAAD4VxdUjKmkSPPPLtAA_aNa?dl=0 Up for sale is my complete underwater still camera/video package, featuring the Aquatica housing, 8” dome front, a wide angle 20mm lens with focus gear, and including the fantastic Canon 5d mk2 camera itself! Can be used with auto focus (take off the gear ring) or manual focus. I have used this on many successful dives and video pool shoots. Low shutter clicks, as I used it primarily for video. I’m a professional cameraman, and this is from my personal gear collection, priced for a quick sale. You can see my work at www.daveknox.com, I used this exact set-up on the TV shows “Gotham” and “The Big C” for Fox and HBO. I added a watertight e-o video out to send (optional) SD video picture to the surface. You can choose whether to use this feature or not. If you don’t plug in a cable, the housing performs as stock. I’ll include a 50 bnc video cable, if you want/need a surface video feed. The Camera records on board in High Definition HD 1080, of course, and many other settings. I’ll include my “quick-start guide” to shooting video with the Canon camera. This camera is tested, watertight and ready to dive! The package includes: Canon 5 D mk 2 camera body, in Exc+ condition. 2 Canon brand batteries, one Canon charger. (2) 16 GB SanDisk extreme cards. 20 mm Canon 2.8 lens, in Like new condition. Focus gear pre-installed! Included! Aquatica 5D mk2 pro housing, Exc.+ condition. Looks nearly new. Modified to add video out e-o bulkhead. Handgrips, caps, lube, Pelican case included. Aquatica 8inch acrylic dome port in Excellent condition, and extension ring. A couple of imperceptible surface scratches, Not brand new, but very nice. (see photos). Note: You should plan on looking at the strobe connection. The bulkheads and everything is in place, I believe they’re the new Canon-Nikonos standard, but I can’t be sure, as I never use strobe lighting...beyond my capabilities. There may be an easily replaced broken cable, or you may have to adapt your own strobe lighting system. Also: I snipped off the crummy “hydrophone” microphone connection (per Backscatter), as it sounds much better to simply record the sea sound on board the camera right through the dome front.

  15. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III and use a converter to shoot with old Nikkor AI-S Primes. Is anyone familiar with using this type of setup with an underwater housing...Any brand? Thanks! Brian
  16. Hey Guys, I am currently shooting with a 5D mkiii in Ikelite housing using the 5510.40 port and 8.5 inch dome with canon 16-35mm mkii lens which is required to be mounted after the camera is fastened within the housing due to the standard port being too small in diameter. My current issue is that with this method the Lens sits too far into the Dome and correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure that this is causing the Lack of sharpness mainly in the corners but i find that the image in general lacks a slight sharpness. So i am now looking at purchasing the wider Zen port which is optimised for the 16-35mm mkii and allows it to fit into the system properly. http://reefphoto.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6516 Another thought was purchasing a +2 diopter to increase sharpness again. Does anyone have experience with this set up and the Zen port and if so did you find the lens sat properly within the dome and produced reasonable image sharpness? Also does anyone have experience or could lend any advice on the addition of a +2 diopter. Is it worth it? Any info would be much appreciated!

  21. Hello all, I wanted to share a short film I have put together. Those that know me and my filming style, know that I don't personally like to narrate, nor have divers in my shots....well with this film this was all unavoidable. Ever since I have been diving, I have wanted to have an up close and personal interaction with Manta Rays. I have been all of the world waiting for this magical opportunity. Thousands of miles traveled and dollars spent, I went to some of the best places in the world to pursue this dream of mine. Whether it be weather, bad luck, or illness, something always seemed to get in the way. It was very frustrating. This film is about how the manta curse eventually got broken. I figured this is my story, and I needed to tell it. So outsourcing the narration didn't make sense. Hence the poor narration...:-). Anyhow, Please let me know things you like and don't like about it. Always willing to try to improve and get pointers from others. I hope you enjoy it! Dustin Or Youtube
  22. Hello everyone, I wanted to share a short video of the famous "Betty Bomber" plane wreck in Truk. It is a fun and photogenic wreck in Truk that is not to be missed. This was shot with the new 16-35mm F4L canon lens on the full frame 5d. It also used an 8" dome. I found the sharpness excellent in comparison to the 17-40mm. Let me know what you think. Enjoy! Dustin OR Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMjH_NJMPfY
  23. I have decided to keep a 1DSMk3 housing so have a Canon 5D housing, GPro viewfinder, WidePort, MacroPort and camera body up for sale. This housing started its working life as my demo Seacam housing but when I moved to a Mk2 it became my wife's (she will take over my 5D2 so I'm selling this 5D housing on her behalf). Its been well used and does shows signs of of this but has been kept in good working order (at some point it will require a service but the price reflects this). The G Pro viewfinder is almost as new because it came from the 1DS housing and really shows no signs of use. The WidePort has had the shades reduced in height (for fisheye use but probably irrelevantly) and has been used heavily - there are small marks to the coating and a few minor scratches - these are all small and do not affect the images taken with the port. The MacroPort is a P105, which whilst not ideal for a 5D, is a good starter port - it is used and again shows signs of use with some marks to the front glass - again extremely unlikely to affect the images. We are asking a firm £1250 for the lot which makes it a good full-frame starter housing which simply needs a flash and arm to complete - on this topic, I can fit two flash sockets s required - currently it uses a Nikonos socket plugged into the camera's PC flash socket which has proved to be a very reliable system indeed (I don't think that it has ever not worked) for manual flash triggering, but I can also fit a full TTL socket to the hotshoe (S6 or N5) aswell. The camera body which is included has spent the vast majority of its life in the housing and has probably shot well under 20k actuations but I have not checked this - I will try to do so - and has I think 2 batteries. I think I have a 'standard' 'O' ring set as included originally and grease and oil too. Pm me for any further info or photos.
  24. ALOHA - I have a near brand new housing here for sale. It has only been used 3 different times. I bought it to shoot wave images a couple years ago but never use it. It truly looks and feels as new as the day I got it. It's been living in a case in my closet the past two years - and time to move on. It fits a Canon 5D Mk 2 only - custom. The dome port fits a wide angle/fisheye lens - I used the Canon 15mm for it. This has the detachable pistol grip on it - as well as the side grip for versatile styles of shooting. I have every original accessory - including the neoprene port cover for the dome. Check out the SPL Water Housing website for more details or - Please ask any questions as I want this to move. Again - this is very well cared for and an awesome product. I paid $2050 for this (plus shipping) - asking $1200 OBO
