  1. Hello Recently my Fantasea FG16 housing started to leak. As for now it seems that the camera is fine (but it will probably corrode and die at some point). I cleaned and rinsed the housing, checked the two o-rings and took the housing alone on a check dive (with some weight and paper inside it). It was leaking again but I am not able to tell where or how. What would be a good way to find out or do you have any suggestions on how to proceed with this? How to find the leak? Thank you.
  2. Much as it hurts me to do this. I’m putting my barely-used and mint-condition Sony A6500/Fantasea underwater kit up for sale. 12 months ago I foolishly tried to buy my way into a better work/life balance, with more time spent underwater. But I have failed resoundingly. So the kit has been used on a grand total of a single one-week dive trip in the Maldives in January last year, and hasn't got wet since, so it's in as mint a condition as used kit can be really. The image quality this compact little kit puts out is really quite exceptional. Comparing the results to what my dive buddy was getting with his Nauticam/D800e setup, it really wasn’t giving up a lot (with added bonus of terrific 4k video as well). The phase-detect autofocus is Sony’s latest tech, and performs terrifically (even in dim, and murky water). The image quality is fantastic, and the housing is compact, comfortable in the hands, and as easy to operate underwater as the pricier aluminium options (Fantasea really have done an excellent job with the ergonomics). I’ve sold off the more specific lenses and ports, so this is basically the base Fantasea kit. The flat port paired with the nifty little 16-50mm will let you easily expand with Fantasea’s excellent wide-angle and macro wet lenses (which allow you to shoot both wide-angle and macro in a single dive). And to make life easier (and reduce the stress of taking so much expensive kit beneath the waves) there’s also the terrific Leak Sentinel v5 Vacuum System (with LED indicators), and a moisture detector in the housing itself. The kit includes: CAMERA: Sony A6500 Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 3x Sony NP-FW50 Batteries HOUSING: Fantasea FA6500 Housing for Sony a6500 and a6300 Fantasea FML Flat Port 34 Leak Sentinel V5 SeaLife Flexconnect Dual Tray 2x SeaLife Flexconnect Ball Joint Adapter SL999 (male) 2x SeaLife Flexconnect Grip 6x SeaLife Flexconnect Flex Arms 2X Sea & Sea Fibre Optic Cables Spare O-Rings, grease, vacuum pump etc. etc. So get yourself some cheap happiness at the mere cost of my misery/failure! $4,900 AUD worth of practically new kit, yours for $3400 AUD / $2300 USD + Shipping Pickup available from Melbourne, Australia. Or I can ship it wherever you need. Cheers, Mark
  3. Greetings! I have just recently upgraded and am selling my mirrorless underwater system! I have really enjoyed it and it took a lot of personal deliberation before deciding to finally let it go and fully commit to my new set up. The sony a6500 is a great underwater camera for photographers getting serious! For Sale: Sony a6500 camera: $900 or nearest offer, 16-50mm lens included. $800 body only. Sony 16-50mm lens: $150 Fantasea FA6500 Housing: $650 with port and zoom gear. $500 housing body only. Fantasia FML Flat Port 34 with zoom gear: $200 Fantasea - AOI UWL-09F Wide Angle Wet Lens: $400 See below for details and photos of each item! Please send direct message with any questions. The items are located in the USA. I do not favor shipping internationally since it is more costly to you (I would add shipping cost to the price), takes longer, and seems to be more risky. But if you are really interested we can discuss it over private message. Sony a6500 mirrorless cropped sensor camera body AND Sony 16-50 mm kit lens: ($900 o.b.o.) Good condition, gently used with signs of normal wear. Just over 11,200 shutter actuations, but this camera is one of the best in it's class, with the mechanical shutter rated up to 200,000 actuations. The sensor is perfect, and the back display screen is in great condition. All buttons and functions working perfect and properly. I have a battery charger and 5 batteries for it included. I also have the original box and operations manual for the new owner. The Sony E-mount 16-50mm lens is included and is in perfect condition. Glass is flawless and autofocus works perfect. I used this lens underwater with nice results! It is a very good versatile lens and I have also used macro wet diopters and a wet wide angle dome with it with happy results I also have two polarizer filters, a couple ND filters, and a few macro diopters for the 16-50mm lens included, as well as a Sony camera bag, neoprene camera case, I am selling the sony camera body and lens together, but send me a message if you are interested in either piece separate. Please ask if you want to see more photos. Asking $900 for the camera and lens. The items are located in the US and I prefer to ship within the continental USA, but please contact me for international shipping rates and I can do some research. Fantasea FA6500 Housing AND FML Flat Port 34 with zoom gear ($650 o.b.o) The housing has been set for the a6500, but can be converted to be used with the a6300. I will include the tools and guide that came with the housing. The housing is in great, almost-new condition, but with some scratches on one of the fiber optic connection holes. The fiber optics still fit fine and it is only cosmetic and does not affect functionality. Other than that, it is flawless and has never been flooded. I will include original o-rings and also Fantasea replacement o-rings. (Original Retail Price $750). Also included is the Fantasea FML Flat Port 34 with zoom gear to fit the Sony 16-50mm lens. The port lens is in good condition with no scratches or blemishes and the zoom gear is perfect. (original price $400). I also have a cheap tray that served me quite well for a couple of years that I will throw in to whoever buys the housing! (see photo) Fantasea - AOI UWL-09F Wide Angle Wet Lens with protective case and adapter. ($400 o.b.o.) A wonderful wet wide angle lens, fits a 67mm housing port thread. 130 degree field of view. The original price is $700 for a new one, this one is used and has some minor scuffs and one small scratch on the dome. This has not interfered with photos as far as I have noticed! I will try to upload some sample photos that I took with it recently. I used this wet lens with the Sony a6500 and kit 16-50mm lens with very satisfying results! Please direct message me with any questions!
  4. As deeply as it pains me to do this. I’m putting my complete, barely-used and mint-condition Sony A6500/Fantasea underwater kit up for sale. It's a complete kit sans strobes. I wanted the feature-set of a fully-laden Nauticam setup, with all the mod-cons, but without all of the weight, so I went with the A6500 paired with the excellent Fantasea Housing and Ports, and Sealife Flexconnect Handles and Arms (which are great for rapidly adjusting the position of your strobes underwater). It's setup for wide-angle (Sony 10-14mm f/4), Macro (Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro), Fisheye (Sony 20mm f/2.8 + VCL-ECF2 Fisheye Converter), and general shooting (Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6), with all of the necessary ports and extensions. And to make life easier (and reduce the stress of taking so much expensive kit beneath the waves) there’s also the terrific Leak Sentinel v5 Vacuum System (with LED indicators), a moisture detector in the housing itself, and an LED strobe trigger for fast and consistent strobe control via fibre optics. Fully assembled (sans strobes) the rig only weighs 4kg (that's under 9lbs!) so it's a terrific improvement size/weight wise compared to a conventional DSLR rig, and one that can travel with you safely in your carry-on luggage. The only thing that needs to be added are strobes or video lights, and you’ll be off shooting. The full list of components is as follows: CAMERA: Sony A6500 Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro Sony E 10-18mm f/4 Sony E 20mm f/2.8 Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 Sony VCL-ECF2 Fisheye Converter 3x Sony NP-FW50 Batteries HOUSING: Fantasea FA6500 Housing for Sony a6500 and a6300 Fantasea FML Dome Port A6 Fantasea FA2 LED Strobe Trigger Fantasea FML Flat Port 34 Fantasea FML Lens Gears SEL1018 2x Fantasea FML Port Extension 25 Fantasea Light Shielding Pad SEL16F28 Leak Sentinel V5 SeaLife Flexconnect Dual Tray 2x SeaLife Flexconnect Ball Joint Adapter SL999 (male) 2x SeaLife Flexconnect Grip 4x SeaLife Flexconnect Flex Arm 2X Sea & Sea Fibre Optic Cables Spare O-Rings, grease, vacuum pump etc. etc. The kit cost $8,960 AUD, and I'm looking for $6,300 AUD for it (that's about $4500 USD at the moment). So get yourself some cheap happiness at the mere cost of my misery/failure! Pickup available from Melbourne, Australia. And I'm happy to ship worldwide. Cheers, Mark Here’s the kit: And here are a few shots from it that I quite like:

  8. I am selling my G16 and housing after making a move to video. These have been on 2 dive trips, one in December to LC, the other to Roatan in July. Takes great pics! Both have been well cared for and all o rings have been newly greased. The housing has a bit of rust where the housing attached to the tray as the screws were not stainless steel. Comes with all boxes, a manual I ordered on line ( for my eyes LOL) and 2 chargers and 3 batteries. Please see pics below and please let me know if you would like more. I have a featured photo album of some of my favorite shots on my FB page. Please PM me for details. Thanks!
  9. Hello everyone, What would you recommend to clean the Fantasea UWL-09 wet wide angle lens? I read on the web that Novus polish #1 is a good choice however I'm not that sure yet... and what about soapy solution? Thanks in advance

  11. I just ordered an RX100m4 and looking for a decent, double o-ring design housing, the Fantasea FRX100-IV looks interesting. Does anyone have experience wih the Fantasea RX housings? Is it working well with the 67mm wide lenses? (h100, wwl-1) After checking out the options, I am quite confused... The Acquapazza establishes a case for Aluminium too. Also there is the Meikon Al housing...
  12. I am on the hunt for a 4k video solution and stranded at the RX100 mk IV. Decent IQ, modest pricing, cheap housings. First of: I am eying the Fantasea frx100 housing(s), does it have any significant drawback compared to Ikelite? Speaking of Fantasea, does the mk IV camera fit in the mk III housing? Fantasea offers a retrofitting service, can it be done at home? As for optics, I want the best. Does the WWL-1 have any serious (and somewhat lighter...) competitors in the wet wide lens department?
  13. Looking at the test results of the RX100 mk IV, (DXO, Dpreview) the tiny 1" sensor system seems really impressive, the iso-performance matches the m43 sensor while in video the sony is clearly superior. Is there any aspect where the GH4 worth ~2x the investment? Alright, I won't be able to shoot 10+min 4k with the RX, because it overheats. Also I won't be able to use a true fisheye, I have to live with the ~120° provided by the WWL-1. Anything apart from that?
