  2. Hi, I have recently installed the Subal V3 flash trigger for shooting via fiber cables. Batteries are properly inserted, the LED's are properly positioned, the switch is at 0 for manual shooting, a green LED came on when the batteries were inserted, but with my D850 installed and connected to the hotshot, the flash won't fire. Has anyone had this problem, or has advice on fixing the problem? Thanks! Tom
  3. Hello, does anyone have experience in building a own snoot with water tubes etc.? I tried to build one and also attached a laser pointer to see where to aim. But I have a problem to connect the plastic tubes with my strobes... Underwater it was falling off very often. Any tip or idea would be helpful! Thanks a lot :-)
  4. Hi, I am selling a Sea&Sea Y-sync cord 03470 (N type), which connects 2 Sea&Sea Strobes to Housings with a Nikonos 5 Pin Bulk Head. Selling due to change of system. The sync cord works perfectly, has never been flooded and only has a few signs of usage on the Nikonos end and the dust cap which have no influence on the performance. It allows continuous shooting, so no missed images of moving objects anymore. Works with any standard Nikonos 5-pin bulkhead and Sea&Sea underwater flash with 5-pin connection, such as Sea&Sea YS-D1, YS-D2. Included: Sync cord with O-rings and dust caps. Looking for AU$175 Shipping from Australia on buyers expenses.
  5. Iam selling 1 Seacam Seaflash 150D S6 for Canon. 6. Hi, I have been using my Subtronic PRO160 strobes (optic fiber) and Sea&Sea YS-D1 with a Nikon D800 successfully up to shutter speeds of 1/320 (always with optic fiber using a manual led trigger that I installed in a Nauticam Housing, with camera flash sync speed set to 1/320 auto-fp). I've upgraded my camera to a Nikon D850 in a Nauticam housing with Nauticam's manual led trigger installed as default. Yesterday I've tried my Subtronic's PRO160 UW for the first and they only were able to successfully light each photo if I used shutter speeds below 1/60 (the camera configured slower speed to use with flash in A & P modes). I was shooting in manual mode as ever, flash sync speed set to 1/250*(auto fp) (also tried setting it to 1/250 but no luck). When I used shutter speeds above 1/60 the bottom of the photos became unevenly illuminated or even black (depending on aperture, ISO and strobe power). Strobes are configured to fire with only one pulse from the trigger (as I always use). Later, at home, I've tested the strobes again and oddly they function normally until 1/200 (but at 1/250 they show the black bar at the bottom of the picture). I also tried my Sea&Sea YS-D1 and they also work normally just until 1/200 (they could have had low batteries so I will repeat the tests, but the Subtronics had full battery in the beginning of the dive). Anyone has any idea why this strange behavior? Why did they only work until 1/60 underwater? What changes to make them able to work at 1/200 at the surface? Why do they not work at the surface at 1/250 at least? I've tried everything I could remember (Camera in Single shot mode, M mode, EFCS off or on, no shutter delay activated, several combinations of aperture and ISO...). The only thing that I've changed besides the new camera, housing and new led trigger is the fiber optic cables: i used to use a 3mm optic fiber cable custom made by me (which I didn´t like because they were always failing) and now I use Nauticam standard cables (they didn't work at all with my other led trigger and the Subtronics, although they always worked with the Sea&Sea and also some INON's Z240 that I don't have anymore - all the way up to 1/320 with the D800). Any help would be appreciated: you never know when you will be busy fiddling with your camera UW and that great white will finally appear and gracefully swim by your side,, :-) Thanks, Miguel
  7. One used Retra Strobe Ikelite electrical sync cord connector. Also has an optical connection. Works like new. Comes with two diffusers (only one pictured), neoprene camo cover, original box and manual. Great condition with some minor cosmetic flaws (see photos). I purchased this strobe spring 2018, used it on a handful of river snorkeling trips. No flooding to battery compartment or battery corrosion. This strobe is amazing. Well thought out design, intuitive, powerful, and easy to operate even with gloves. I would've loved to have picked up a second one, but they are currently being redesigned with plans of a relaunch in the future. I couldn't wait around any more and picked up two Inons instead. Shoot me any questions you might have. $740 includes PayPal and shipping fees within the United States
  8. I'm looking to complete a strobe pair for some jobs coming up and a looking to get either a second Retra strobe or a second Inon Z-240. I purchased one Retra strobe with Ikelite connection for the summer and recently wanted to buy a second one, but learned that they are temporarily discontinued. I also have one Inon Z-240 on hand that I would be happy to pair up instead. Looking for either in good working condition. Let me know how much! Many thanks.

  10. Hi All, I'm working to understand how my a6000 works in detail with the aim of (possibly) making my own LED TTL converter. At the moment I use the a6000 with its internal flash to trigger a set of YS-D2 strobes using my optical cables. I either use the strobes in manual or TTL mode. The TTL is reasonable, but not always perfect. I wanted to understand how the a6000 TTL system works, so I connected a little oscilloscope to my hotshoe x-sync pin and used the other channel of the oscilloscope with a photodiode to monitor the flash. See attached 2 screen grabs for two flash types - Fill Flash, Rear Sync. I also did a rear sync, but it's result was remarkably similar. I wasn't able, in any case, either Manual, Aperture priority or full automatic, to witness any pre-flash whatsoever from the camera's internal flash. Does the a6000 meter TTL during the exposure? Am I missing something here. Welcome any insights, comments or suggestions to be able to run another oscilloscope test. Cheers!
  11. 2 x Ikelite Strobes. 1 x N160; and 1 x N161 (which incl the Video Light). AU$1100.00 for both
  12. I'm looking to upgrade and am selling my ds125s. The batteries were replaced about 2 years ago. Comes with battery covers, a 110v charger. Not included are original diffusers (lost at sea) and the universal charger as the cable broke.
  13. Hi All, Looking for feedback on the Turtle TTL flash trigger. http://trt-electronics.com I know WetPixel is one of their partners, but haven't seen a lot of feedback on them here recently. Looking at buying one to compliment my Nauticam / A7RII setup - and would be good to hear real life feedback. The obvious reason to go with the Turtle TTL Flash Trigger is that it does support TTL. (although I might not use that, usually shooting fully manual, it is a nice thing to be able to do). let me know, Regards, Y.
  14. Selling 2 Sea & Sea Fiber Optic Cables - Please see product details here: https://www.backscatter.com/search?keywords=SS-50128 These were used on 2-3 dives with an Olympus TG-4 set up. We decided to sell the TG-4 set up, so cables are no longer needed. $125
  15. How exactly does a strobe setup work? I would like to purchase a Sea & Sea YS-D2 to go with my D850 and (prospectively) a Nauticam housing. The D850 doesn't have a built-in flash, so I would just hook up the YS-D2 to the D850? I want to use TTL, and would I need a TTL converter for this setup?

  20. Hi Guys, I'm looking to find the Olympus PEN \ OMD accessory port pinout. My goal is to take the Olympus Macro Arm Light (MAL-1) And connect it to the trigger of the camera, so it will act like a flash trigger. I was thinking about connecting led to the FL-LM2, but I think this solution will be more robust and elegant. So I started to pinout the Flash connector and the FL-LM1 Has 33 pins, Most of them are not connected, I'm attaching what I got so far. The large octagon is GND and the square is VCC, so I have 4 more pins that one of them is probably the trigger, and another one should be the ready state (once the flash is ready for firing). The pitch of the connector is very small and makes it hard to pinout, so I'm trying to trace the IGBT pin4 to the connector, but this is 4 layers PCB which is not that easy. so, I'm still trying but is someone knows the pinout, it would be great! Thanks.
  21. I have two used Ikelite DS161 Strobes/Video lights up for sale. I purchased both of them used last spring 2017 from Ebay. I used them both less than 10 times (probably more like 4 times) and realized that they are just too unwieldy for instream photography. I recently bought a Retra strobe and I think that the size is a bit more what I am looking for. So I am now trying to offload these two Ikelites. One of the strobes has some cosmetic wear from the previous owner (see pics). The other strobe is in great shape. Both strobes are fully functional and operate well. Both have battery packs, sync port covers (metals screw caps) and both have the 1" ball adapters. However, I only have one diffuser and one charger. Looking for $1400 for the pair - shipping and PayPal fees included. PayPal or local pickup in Seattle, WA. For feedback - Ebay: iakona808 FredMiranda: Jsatoshi My website is JasonSChing.com -Shoot me a message on any of these if you'd like me to confirm. Thanks for looking! -Jason
