  6. Hi all, I went out on a dive today and had a minor o-ring leak (forgot to regrease it) on my WP-DC54 with Canon G7x MKII. Thankfully the camera is held away from all surfaces pretty much so camera is fine but the housing is fogging a little and I can see tiny amounts of water around the rubber lens surround. What is the best way to dry this out - has anyone tried unscrewing the glass from the front to get in there and really clean it up? I guess I need to flood the inside with deionised water when I get back from my trip and dry the whole thing out again? How would you suggest I go about getting it really dry? Thanks in advance! Adam
  7. Hi All, I rarely visit here, and did do a search but couldn't find any threads. The labels on my housing (for all the buttons and etc) wear off over time. Im sure we've all experienced it. Has anyone tried a clear coat to keep them on? Maybe a model car sort of clear coat you could paint on with a small brush over the labels? Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi all, I am looking to get a housing for my X-T3. I am on a bit of a budget (I know this game is expensive) so the Nauticam is out of my price range. I have seen the SeaFrogs SF XT3 housing ( https://www.aditech-uw.com/en/shop/4898-sea-frogs-sf-xt3-for-fujifilm-x-t3.html ) but am not sure how good they are. The lens I have is the 16-80mm F4 XF OIS WR and I can't seem to find any info on if this would be compatible with the housing and port options. I ave attached a diagram of the body with lens attached (my drawings aren't the best) to see if maybe someone has the housing and could possibly judge if my set up would fit. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks Joel

  13. I rarely see any information on Easydive housings, so I thought I'd write about the one I just bought. (I'm not affiliated with Easydive.) Introduction I currently use a Nimar housing for my Nikon D5300, with a wet lens (UWL-09) for wide-angle. I'd been frustrated with the soft corners of my wide-angle photos and was looking for a wide-angle dry dome. However, the Nimar has functioned... poorly... so I didn't want to further invest into that system. Plus, I plan on using it for deeper dives (60+ metres) which means a new system anyway. My decision to buy an Easydive instead of, say, Nauticam, was that the housing allows you to change cameras without changing the housing. I'm planning a set of camera upgrades over the next few years and wanted to use the same housing instead of dropping 2k+ EUR housing-tax for each new camera. Since the cost of the Easydive was on par with any housing for a future camera (if not less!), I figured I could always change again if it didn't work out, eating the cost of any ports in the meanwhile. I started with the Leo 3 Wi, as I plan on moving from DSLR Nikon cropped-sensor to mirrorless Sony full-frame, and this housing handles all of them. I started with the 240 mm dome and extension ring for my 10--20 mm lens, and also included the vacuum system, flash trigger, and mounting balls as necessaries. Here's a size comparison between the Nimar and new Easydive. The housings themselves are about the same size, although the Easydive is much heavier being made of aluminium instead of plastic and anxiety. In the Nimar, the camera is connected to a plastic plate that inserts into the bottom. In the Easydive, the camera is connected to the baseplate seen in the following. Here's how the inside looks with the baseplate removed and battery disconnected (but standing alongside its slot). When assembled, the camera goes on the baseplate, which inserts into the bottom of the housing. The battery is placed against some velcro on the right and plugs below. The camera connects to the housing computer by the two cables, with the third being the flash trigger. (I think it can handle the internal flash, but haven't tried.) The buttons on the right side are used to interact with the camera. For my D5300, this includes the important aperture, ISO, shutter, and AF modes. Other models (like the Sony) have more functionality. The shutter release is another button on the front. All are easily operable with 5 mm wet gloves and dry gloves. Cons Let's start with cons. The housing's internal battery connects with velcro---it's hard to tell whether it's securely applied or not. Specifically for the D5300, the magnifier for the viewfinder as-is doesn't fit within the housing, though it might after some tweaking. There's no self-test for the moisture detector---I have no idea what it looks (or sounds) like when there's a leak. The 240 mm dome doesn't lock into place, so I dive in fear of accidentally rotating the dome. That's not new, though, as I usually live in fear of jostling and scratching my domes. I'm pretty well-adjusted otherwise I guess? Apparently the 240 mm is special in that it doesn't lock---other ports and domes do. The universal zoom ring (which slots into the zoom wheel seen in the above photo) uses a velcro system to tighten over a lens. This is fine I guess, but I'd have added more grip to the internal part of the ring so it doesn't slip if over- or under-zoomed. Some double-sided tape did the trick for me. Pros Everything works without any issue---I'm very happy with it! I'm not fond of face-plate clasps in general (I like the Nauticam wheel lock), but the Leo 3's are very sturdy. Buttons and wheels work flawlessly even at depth. Best yet, the company operator, Fabio, has taken time to help me directly with questions, and responds immediately to questions. Diving with the Leo 3 Wi ...is more or less like with any housing. As it comes, the Leo comes with a metal tab on the left side, which I use to clip off. (After the first dive I realised that I should get a left-hand handle as well because I'm so used to holding two handles.) The 240 mm dome is hugely buoyant, even with an ankle weight wrapped around the extension ring. I'll need to tape weights directly to it for trim. Beside trim, it takes only a few styrofoam blocks to have the housing be neutral. (Photo courtesy of Jasper Mulder.) Matching my hose colour and the housing's trimmings was unintentional. Or was it!? If anybody has any questions I can answer as a user, I'll do my best to answer.
  14. SEACAM housing. Lightly (possibly never) used housing for Canon 5DMKII. Selling for a friend who isn't diving anymore. Pristine housing for a very righteous price at $600.

  19. I have a used Gates ax100 housing for sale. No port, no tripod, no extras. It works great! Never had a leak or any problems. Built like a tank. Great way to try out a more pro setup and see if you want to go to "the next level". Fits the sony ax100 camera. I have the camera but am selling it on ebay. You can inquire though. It might still be available. Just make me an offer! Would like to get about $800 for the housing. It was originally $3000. I do have a scratched port that I can through in. But it is pretty messed up. Thanks.
  20. After being out of UW photography for 6 years and I want to put my Nikon D850 in a housing and get back into it. So my question to the brains trust is - what do you think is the best housing for a D850 and why? Just some back ground which may direct the answers a bit - I will don't envisage flying with this equipment because we are on a yacht and will be sailing to destinations so the size and weight of the housing etc is not some much of an issue. Like most people I will probably concentrate on macro and wide angle. I already have a Nikon 60mm macro lens and Nikon 16mm Fisheye lens. A good friend in Australia who uses Canon equipment suggest the Nauticam housings. He has 3 Nauticam housings with the oldest from 2006 and he said they have not failed him.

The housing works like a dream, never flooded, never had an issue with it, it always performed great when I needed it, also has a sound/led light leak detector for extra piece of mind. All camera lenses and dome are in perfect conditions, no scratches in front elements. I would love to sell the setup as a whole. 23. I am selling a Canon WP-DC34 underwater housing with some extra accessories. This housing is made for the Canon Powershot G12 camera. • Please note: camera is NOT included (just the housing) I have not been diving with this housing in quite a while, however I recently checked the housing over, verified the O-ring was in good shape and also did a leak test with it. It had no problems, no leaks. It is in really good shape. Asking price for this system is $65.00 USD + shipping, payment by PayPal Items are located in USA. I will ship to USA addresses. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer (Housing/BigEye package weighs appx. 3.3lbs., dimensions: 14” x 9” x 5.5”) Canon WP-DC34 Underwater Housing for Canon Powershot G12 WW-DC1 Weight Set (4 pack) This is used to add weight to the WP-DC34 to make it less buoyant. It is pretty floaty I can provide directions on how to use these Fantasea BigEye G Series wide-angle (wet) lens for WP-DC34 Fantasea EyeGrabber Lens Caddy for G Series + Hardcopy of instructions for this accessory INON Optical D Cable Type L/Cap W54 Set Clear Photo System Film This is an adaptor set, specifically for the WP-DC34 that will allow you to hook up to 2 external underwater strobes to the housing using fiber optic cables (cables are included. They are plug-less on one end and have an INON type plug on the other end) Note that this works great for triggering strobes but I don't think there is TTL control (auto power adjustment). Honestly, I can't remember for sure, but it is likely that strobe power is controlled manually. There are two parts to this kit. One part, the one I’ve used, is a fiber optic bulkhead attachment assembly. I’ve connected two Sea & Sea YS110a strobes to the housing before and it worked great. The other part is an L Connecter assembly. I’m not sure what exactly this part is used for because I’ve only used the bulkhead, but it is part of the set, nonetheless. Also included are 2 fiber optic cables to hook up to the bulkhead and strobes. I do have the full instruction sheets that came with the set which shows assembly and use of both parts. I can also explain my experience of how to install the bulkhead. Pictures in the link below show this kit and also the housing with the bulkhead and fiber optic cables installed so you have some idea. *I do not have the original hard-copy manuals for the Housing or the BigEye lens, but I can provide pdfs of them on a usb stick, if needed. I have verified the housing is working as it should and does not leak. That being said, it is the buyer’s responsibility to know how to properly set up and maintain the housing. I recommend that if you buy this equipment, the first thing you do is perform a leak test on the empty housing to assure yourself that everything works as expected. I will not accept responsibility for damage to a camera due to a flooded housing! There are too many variables associated with how a person may use the equipment that I have no control over. I was only able to attach a couple of pictures to the listing. You can find more pictures at this link: Canon WP-DC34 UW Housing kit pictures
