  4. Good day everyone, After years of following WetPixel (WP) on Instagram I've taken the plunge and formally joined. I recently upgraded from a mirrorless 4/3* to a full frame Nikon D850. Wow what a camera! Shooting it in a Nauticam housing with the vacuum system, which I love. For strobes I use the YSD2 J's from Sea & Sea and the Z240's from Inon. Our last trip I added two Nauticam 70x300mm carbon fiber float arms. I thought I had my rig neutrally buoyant before, but I was wrong. Being able to have the camera float at depth for 10-15 seconds before slowly sinking was a joy to behold. At times I found myself playing with my rig if I couldn't find a compelling shot or was completing the safety stop. I've been diving since late 2006 and took up UW Photography in early 2014, so still learning a lot. I like to say I'm a diver first and a photographer second, which is true most of the time. For the past four years my wife and I travel around 100 days a year and 2/3 of that is diving and shooting. In 2011 I made my first trip to the Solomon's and have returned once since then, but have trips planned in 2020 and 2021. 2017 was our first introduction to Indonesia, where we have returned three times since then with more on the books in the next two years. I am almost over diving in the Caribbean, as Indo and the Pacific has a hold on me. As far as shooting I tend to prefer macro as I can control the foreground and background easier, but I am enjoying the challenge of wide angle. At this point in my craft I'm trying to move away from the animal ID shot and become more artistic. I can easily spend 10-40 minutes on a single subject/setup. We have been attending workshops from Backscatter for techniques and post processing with Erin Quigley and Jim Decker. I've also attended three of their Digital Shootouts. If anyone is interested I have a hobby website http://brownduckphoto.comthat does not get as much attention as it should. Best, Andy *eventually listed in the classifieds

  6. Hi friends, I'm considering a Sony A6500 in a Nauticam housing, but I have a lot of doubts about the strobes. 1- I want to use my actual Ikelite strobes DS160 and DS161. It seems the TTL will work only with fiber optic cables, am I wrong? 2- If that is true, there is no Nauticam led trigger to avoid the recycle time of the internal camera flashlight. Do someone knows if the Fantasea one (http://www.fantasea.com/s.nl/it.A/id.748/.f) will WORK and FIT into Nauticam A6500 housing?? 3- If in the future i want to replace the Ikelite strobes for Inon Z330 or Z240: can I use the same fiber optic cables? do i have to purchase anything else? Sorry if someone thinks these are silly questions, but I'm coming from a Nikon reflex, Ikelite housing and wired strobes, so I'm really lost in the compatibility setup, changing EVERYTHING. Any answer will be very helpfull for me, thanks!! Albert
  7. Looking for a single Inon Z-240 Type 4 that is in good condition. Send me a PM if you have one you're willing to part with for a price that is fair. I recently noticed that one of mine has a much lower output than the other while shooting a large ball of Jacks. Initially I though one of the two flash tubes might be dead but later I confirmed that is not the case by taking photos of the strobe in set to a low power with my lens stopped all the way down. Not sure what is going on with it because it still works fine but the output is significantly lower than my other Inon Z-240, I am fairly sure this wasn't previously the case as I never noticed it.
  8. Hi all, Unfortunately I have to sell my rig I can no longer dive really anymore. I am based in Cambridge, UK. 9. Hello, I have just switched to a DSLR system, my setup is a D800E in Nautical Housing with 2 strobe INON S2000 activated by the in-build flash with finer optic cable. I would like to know from someone with similar setup what would be the sync speed I can push the system, has anyone tested at 1/250, 1/320 or above? Second I was wandering if I-TTL mode would work as well as flash exposure compensation, somehow I feel it would be easier to adjust rather than using the small knob of thee strobe. I will be shooting Macro with 105 Micro VR, in your experience is recharging time really bothering in this setup? What alternatives do I have to fire my strobes, and what are the gain ? thank you for your suggestions.

  13. Hello, does anyone have experience in combining Inon Z-240 and D-200? Is there a even light or ist there a big difference between the two light sources (if you shoot for example a huge animal like a shark on sandy bottom)? Thanks a lot! Michael

  17. Selling my 2.5-year old Canon G7X Nauticam housing with camera, lenses and accessories. (The reason I am selling is that I've upgraded to a Canon 1DX Mark II). You'll just love the fantastic pictures you can get with the camera! And you'll really love the vacuum system which (should) prevent any housing flooding. The wide angle and macro lenses give you a wide range of choices, and the short port allows you to change lenses underwater, giving you lots of flexibility even after you've started your dive. This equipment cost me around $3,500 and I'm asking $1,500 for everything (plus $75 to defray shipping costs; if shipping is less, I'll refund the difference; if more, I'll eat the difference. Shipping to addresses in the USA only). As expected, there are a few cosmetic blemishes and very minor wear and tear. Everything works great. Importantly, all glass and acrylic is scratch free. 18. Hi guys, I just joined in, I use sony rx-100 v with nauticam housing, trying to decide which wide lens is better for me, Inon UWL-H100 with it's dome, I know it's for 28mm, but I've been told to just zoom in and loose a few degrees (starting at 125 or so), or Weefine WFL01, 140º degrees, made for 24mm. The thing is that I can't find reviews on the Weefine, and everyone recommends me INON but a single person, could you help me please? Huge thanks Riki Inon UWL-H100 with Dome Unit
  19. Hello everyone, I am upgrading to a Nauticam D850 system and am selling my Nauticam D7100 housing and other gear. I'd like to sell as a system if possible. We can talk about breaking it apart if I don't have any luck selling it as a pack. I also have two lenses that I'm selling separately from the Nauticam system I'm parting with. System ($4500) Nauticam DA 7100 housing: Comes with a Nikonos Sync port for hard wiring strobes if you want. Pretty decent condition but like any housing put to good use there are some scratches, mainly along the bottom. Never gotten wet inside and the internal mechanisms are like new. Nikon D7100 Bodies: I have three bodies but am keeping the primary body for a friend. It has the most use. The two remaining bodies are very clean and have not been used nearly as much as my primary, which, again, I'm keeping. Cosmetically, the bodies are very clean. I am open if someone does not want both bodies, but my personal preference is to have a back up. Each body comes with battery, charger, cable, strap and manuals in their original Nikon boxes. Nikon 10-24 DX lens: I used this lens on five dives only and on a trip to Hawaii topside. Otherwise it is essentially new. You will need a dome port as I am keeping mine. Also includes the appropriate Nauticam zoom gear. Zen Mini Dome (non removable shade version). In very good condition. Glass is flawless with no scratches, body has minimal cosmetic wear. Tokina 10-17 lens. I have only used this lens underwater. When not diving it is sealed inside of the housing and stored in an ice chest. Very clean, no visible wear. Includes Nauticam zoom gear. Kenko 1.4X tele-converter with extended zoom gear. Does NOT include the Nauticam 20mm extension ring required to use this device. I'm keeping that for my new system. Two Inon Z240's. I have four of these and the two for this system are the back ups, so they have less use and are cleaner than my primary strobes. Each strobe comes with a ball mount. Still, there is some minor scratches on the body but nothing that in any way affects form, fit or function. Each comes with a diffuser and spare o-ring set. Does NOT include fiber optic cables. 800 Lumen Fisheye Fix aiming light. The light works great but the lock switch does not prevent the dial from rotating when not in use. If it gets bumped it can turn the light on. Comes with two batteries and charger. Also Selling: Nikon D810 body only: $1700. Cosmetically clean. 30,714 shutter clicks so a lot of bandwidth to go to the expected life of 200,000 shutter actuations. Comes with battery, strap, manuals, cable and original box. Sigma 20mm 1.4 ART. Beautiful lens. Bought it for astrophotography but never really ended up using it. Been sitting sealed in a case for just under two years, so it is really in perfectly new condition. $600 FIRM I have photos of everything listed above. Just shoot me an email if you want them. 20. Hi all, I am selling my RX100ii due to a DSLR upgrade in the near future. This is a great compact setup and makes snooting quite easy. I'm happy to post my pictures if you need to see what I managed to get in Bunaken and Tulamben, but I'm still processing them! Safe to say, this camera is great for both wide and macro with the paired wet lenses. I can provide more (detailed) pictures if required, but the post is limiting me to ca 1MB. I am based in the south of the UK, but I am of course happy to ship this anywhere. Everything's in excellent condition and I'll provide original boxes where possible - it is priced to sell at £1250.

  25. I'm looking to complete a strobe pair for some jobs coming up and a looking to get either a second Retra strobe or a second Inon Z-240. I purchased one Retra strobe with Ikelite connection for the summer and recently wanted to buy a second one, but learned that they are temporarily discontinued. I also have one Inon Z-240 on hand that I would be happy to pair up instead. Looking for either in good working condition. Let me know how much! Many thanks.
