With Canon full frame cameras (and Nikon, I believe too), the WACP-C and WACP-1 from Nauticam require old lenses that have been discontinued. For example the EF 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 V USM was released in 1999. The EF 28-70 f/3.5-4.5 II is even older. Any thoughts on the expected lifespan of these lens if they are purchased now? Put another way, for the people that have purchased these lens over the last three years to use with these water contact optics, have you experienced a failure in the lens that required purchasing another lens so that you can continue to use your expensive piece of Nauticam equipment?

Venus Optics came out with a new macro lens, the 100mm macro with a 2:1 magnification. I was wondering how difficult it is to use a lens like that? I read one (land-based) review where they said a tripod is needed. I read another report that showed examples of hand-held pictures. Now I'm confused. For those who don't know the lens here a quick introduction: Available for Sony, Nikon and Canon. 100mm focal length Manual Focus only Min. focusing distance: 24.7cm (for the 2x magnification) Price: 449 USD. I purchased this directly from Nauticam for $1086.00 on 12/29/2020. It appears to be in like new condition (I posted a bunch of photos in the link below). I only used this on a handful of dives while on vacation and I absolutely fell in LOVE with this lens (I really babied this lens, as I even kept the hard cover on the lens while underwater and not in use). That said, I recently sold my camera and I no longer have any use for this amazing piece of kit. After having shot Olympus for several years in my documentary and street photography, and the recent announcement of Olympus selling off its camera division to JIP, I'm debating whether to dump all my Olympus gear or stick it out. I'm heavily invested in Olympus topside (5 bodies, 8 lenses, 3 TTL strobes) and debating whether to add an Olympus housing to my equipment list. I've considered switching out completely to SONY a6xxx for all my work but I truly love the compact form factor of m43. My issue is Olympus is really lagging on the video codec end of things - Panasonic is much better on that front but I want the ability to switch back and forth easily between stills and video while freediving. I'll be shooting ambient light only, primarily concentrating on large pelagic marine life, other freedivers, seascapes, etc. I can use/get either the Olympus 9-18 or either of the 8mm fisheye lenses from Olympus or Panasonic. Typical shooting depths no more than 15-20 meters maximum with 10 meters being the norm depending on water clarity. If I can move to SONY, can their 16mm f/2.8 lens with their clip on fish eye adapter be utilized in a housing with dome port? SONY doesn't have the lens options of other brands on that end of the lens spectrum so any advice/input would be greatly appreciated. -
I am selling a complete Nikon D7000 system, that includes everything you need to shoot professional quality images. This has only been my spare setup, hasn’t been used very much at all, for this reason all the items listed below are in excellent conditions, they have been looked after meticulously. The underwater camera body is in “like new” conditions, it has never been used outside the housing. The housing works like a dream, never flooded, never had an issue with it, it always performed great when I needed it, also has a sound/led light leak detector for extra piece of mind. All camera lenses and dome are in perfect conditions, no scratches in front elements. I would love to sell the setup as a whole. I have really enjoyed it and it took a lot of personal deliberation before deciding to finally let it go and fully commit to my new set up. The sony a6500 is a great underwater camera for photographers getting serious! For Sale: Sony a6500 camera: $900 or nearest offer, 16-50mm lens included. $800 body only. Sony 16-50mm lens: $150 Fantasea FA6500 Housing: $650 with port and zoom gear. $500 housing body only. But if you are really interested we can discuss it over private message. Sony a6500 mirrorless cropped sensor camera body AND Sony 16-50 mm kit lens: ($900 o.b.o.) Good condition, gently used with signs of normal wear. Just over 11,200 shutter actuations, but this camera is one of the best in it's class, with the mechanical shutter rated up to 200,000 actuations. The sensor is perfect, and the back display screen is in great condition. All buttons and functions working perfect and properly. I have a battery charger and 5 batteries for it included. I also have the original box and operations manual for the new owner. The Sony E-mount 16-50mm lens is included and is in perfect condition. Glass is flawless and autofocus works perfect. I used this lens underwater with nice results! It is a very good versatile lens and I have also used macro wet diopters and a wet wide angle dome with it with happy results I also have two polarizer filters, a couple ND filters, and a few macro diopters for the 16-50mm lens included, as well as a Sony camera bag, neoprene camera case, I am selling the sony camera body and lens together, but send me a message if you are interested in either piece separate. Fantasea FA6500 Housing AND FML Flat Port 34 with zoom gear ($650 o.b.o) The housing has been set for the a6500, but can be converted to be used with the a6300. I will include the tools and guide that came with the housing. The housing is in great, almost-new condition, but with some scratches on one of the fiber optic connection holes. The fiber optics still fit fine and it is only cosmetic and does not affect functionality. Other than that, it is flawless and has never been flooded. I will include original o-rings and also Fantasea replacement o-rings. (Original Retail Price $750). Also included is the Fantasea FML Flat Port 34 with zoom gear to fit the Sony 16-50mm lens. The port lens is in good condition with no scratches or blemishes and the zoom gear is perfect. (original price $400). I also have a cheap tray that served me quite well for a couple of years that I will throw in to whoever buys the housing! (see photo) Fantasea - AOI UWL-09F Wide Angle Wet Lens with protective case and adapter. ($400 o.b.o.) A wonderful wet wide angle lens, fits a 67mm housing port thread. 130 degree field of view. The original price is $700 for a new one, this one is used and has some minor scuffs and one small scratch on the dome. This has not interfered with photos as far as I have noticed!
