  1. In perfect shape. Recently had professionally cleaned. Happy to provide the receipts if necessary. I'm only selling because I switched back to shooting on Canon and am using the 100mm 2.8L Macro lens now and no longer need the 90. $700 + Shipping

Never went, but bought the equipment in advance. Finally got back into water last month and found out UW photography takes more concentration and buoyancy skill than I have. I have substantial ear-clearing problems requiring physician consultation/scripts, and which force me to make a lot of depth changes, challenging my fairly rudimentary buoyancy maintenance skills. UW photography is a further complication I just don't need. Best online prices I could find for all these items as of 10/31/21 totaled $2706 + tax. Offering the whole kit for $1,595. Buyer chooses/pays for shipping method.
  3. My quick review of this rather wonderful piece of kit that I've been using for the past few months. Let me know what you think! Enjoy
  4. Hey all I have a sony a6300 and Fantasea housing and up until now I used only the 16-50 lens for UWP. I bought myself the Fantasea ucl-09f +12.5 wet lens and I found myself loving more and more the macro photography, but, I still love to take pictures of other things (my buddy, maybe a stingray or guitarfish etc.) Which leads me to my 2 questions: 1. Will this lens (sony 30mm macro) fit to be kind of all-around lens for UWP or it won't be good for things other than macro? 2. If I'll put the macro wet lens on this lens, it'll give me a higher magnification or will it ruin the picture? Thanks!

  6. Noodilab Moby macro diopter (x3.8) Boxed in excellent condition, hardly used, just a few specs of dust and some minor signs of use, more photos on request, Neoprene bag has a few loose stiches. Only selling to fund other equipment. Happy to post internationally, once I've obtained a quote for shipping. Looking for £300
  7. Venus Optics came out with a new macro lens, the 100mm macro with a 2:1 magnification. I was wondering how difficult it is to use a lens like that? I read one (land-based) review where they said a tripod is needed. I read another report that showed examples of hand-held pictures. Now I'm confused. For those who don't know the lens here a quick introduction: Available for Sony, Nikon and Canon. 100mm focal length Manual Focus only Min. focusing distance: 24.7cm (for the 2x magnification) Price: 449 USD. Here is a link from the manufacturer: https://www.venuslens.net/product/laowa-100mm-f-2-8-2x-macro-apo/ Anybody around that uses this lens? Anybody aware of a housing / port that the lens fits in and has a gear sleeve for the manual focus? Does it even make sense to try or is 2:1 magnification too difficult to shoot handheld underwater? I'm debating if I should try that or go with the 100mm macro 1:1 from Canon. Looking forward to hear opinions and facts!

  10. Hello fam, Thought I'd share my rig with you and get some advise on how to make this beast neutrally bouyant. I have ran out of options on how to get it as close to neutral as possible. I only used Stix floats and these were the results: Note they were weighed in freshwater (bathtub setup). Rig for Macro: -Subal ND700 , D700 with Nikkor 105VR 2.8 -Subal FP-FC105VR macro port with custom Stix float -2x YS-D2 with neoprene jackets -2x 8 inch ULCS arms with 3x jumbo stix floats on each arm -2x 5 inch ULCS arms with 1x jumbo stix floats on each arm -2x sync cables -7x clamps -L&M Sola 800 for focus -Macromate (By Backscatter) for supermacro Weight underwater: -1.06 lbs I'd like to get this to at least close to neutral however with 1.06 lbs to go, I don't have space to put on floats anymore. Or do I just do DIY rought and zip tie floats onto the arms? Without the Macromate I got it down to -0.67 lbs tho. Would this be already neutral in saltwater? Any suggestions would be appteciated. Thanks! Daniel
  11. Does anyone have a Nikkor 60mm AF-S (ie the newer one) micro lens that they no longer use and would be happy to sell? I'm looking for one in tip-top condition for shipping to either Sint Maarten or to a forwarding address in Miami. So I guess a seller in the US/Canada would be best. Please PM me if you do. Many thanks!

  16. Tl;dr: a short read about the Flabellina affinis nudibranch. Here in Malta, we don't have much in terms of whales and mantas and sharks, so our cameras are often drawn to... smaller subjects. One that often catches the eye is the Flabellina affinis nudibranch, often found on Malta's wrecks. Not long ago a buddy saw one for the first time and peppered me with questions I couldn't answer---what do they eat? How long do they live? I see the F. affinis on almost every dive and it's one of my favourite subjects: tolerates overexposure (blue, not white); tends to hang from fronds, making for beautiful backdrops; etc. But I didn't know much about it. So I put aside my lens for some research time and put together a showcase of the Flabellina affinis to answer her questions. I thought folks here might be interested in the read---plenty of Mediterranean divers here I reckon! One of the questions it doesn't answer is why we have so few this year---I've seen only a handful in months! Could it be related to water temperature? Alkalinity? We don't know. Has anybody else in the Mediterranean noticed fewer F. affinis this year?

  20. Looking for a bit of advice..... I've got the Subsee +10 lens and plan to use it with my Subal FP-FC port for the Nikkor 105mm. I've had it years but only tried it out once. Time to really give it a go! I've got the Subsee mount adaptor with a single "flip" arm. The adaptor is the factory-style Subsee with three small screws which tighten the adaptor frame onto the port. I can't help but feel less than confident about the security of the adaptor on the port. I've put small amounts of duct tape on the port just to protect the port from the screws; and I've have screwed the adaptor firmly onto the port. But the tolerances for something so heavy (the adaptor plus lens) seem less than ideal and I do wonder whether I'll come up from a dive with no Subsee. My paranoia is so great, that I've fitted a small lanyard on to the adaptor to fasten it on to the housing. So, what's the general experience out there, guys? Am I worrying about nothing? Or is there a trail of Subsees and adaptors scattered across the ocean floor?

  23. I have a demo Saga Dive Fiber Optic Ringflash made to fit a Nauticam Port 87 for a Nikon 105mm VR Macro Lens using a Sea & Sea YS-D1 or D2 strobe. Excellent and easy to use to get perfect, even lighting on very small critters. Use with TTL and almost no adjustments are necessary while shooting. This accessory concentrates the light through fiber optics, adapts to the flash head to guide the light through the fiber to carry it in front of the macro lens, it is ideal for extreme macro photography. The working range is what the magnifying lens allows us, approximately between: 2.5 and 10cm. The fibers can be retracted allowing the lens to be unscrewed easily, and ro change the illumination angles. This system does not oblige us to use only this type of lighting, since it is very easy to remove the flash from the support where the fibers are housed and use the equipment in a conventional way. By providing a circular light, we can compose the image either horizontally or vertically and we will have the correct lighting in difficult places where with a conventional flash we could not illuminate (cracks, holes, etc.). This has been used very lightly on a couple of trips. I have a review and photos here. Note: This will only fit the above port and strobe configuration, but can be used on Nauticam D7000-series, D800-D850 etc. Any diopter can be used as the fiber optics are adjustable in length. Strobes can be mounted off to the side or on top of the housing. A second strobe (conventionally mounted) can be used at the same time. TTL is not affected and works very well. This only includes the fibe optic adapter as shown below, port, strobe, diopters, arms, etc. are NOT included. These sell for about $900 new. $595 price includes PP or CC charges and Priority Mail shipping in the US. International shipping is available at cost.
