Hi everyone I am trying to make up my mind about the Seafrogs ( or Meikon ) housing for Sony a6500. The price point is very attractive but I need some real life trusted feedback about their new interchangeable port housings rated at 60m. i've seen some reviews out there but most of them are surfers not divers. Has anyone purchased their housing and dived with it? What is your opinion about it?

Has anyone here tried mounting a Nauticam WWL-1 on a Meikon a6000 housing to use with the 16-50 lens? The lens is one of the recommended lenses to be used with the a6000/a6300 and the WWL-1. It seems odd to be putting such an expensive wet lens on a cheapo Meikon housing but I'm trying to take baby steps to get where I want to be. I've been shooting on an old Oly E-PM1 rig and soon found out that I've outgrown it. I'm a photographer/videographer by trade and own several high end cameras (A7rII, A7s, 5D3, GH3, C100) for my work, but wanted to start slowly with my underwater rig to make sure that it's something that I'd like enough to continue. I've found that while the E-PM1 was nice to learn on, I'm missing the responsiveness, AF, and quality of files of my higher end cameras. This leads me to the a6000 and the WWL-1. Eventually, I'd like a Nauticam a6500 w/16-50 to be used with the WWL-1 and a CMC. I have a pair of Sea & Sea 110a strobes that I'll be using with the a6000. In the meantime, I've found an inexpensive a6000 with a Meikon housing and 16-50 lens that might be a good stepping stone to the a6500 w/Nauticam housing. Since the front of the Meikon port has a 67mm thread, would the WWL-1 mount and work with the a6000 & 16-50 combo the same as it would on a Nauticam housing?

Does anyone have experience with this housing with A7iii? User reviews seem pretty positive for these housings with other cameras, and the price point is great, especially with multiple ports.

Hi guys, I am looking for a wide angle wet lens to attach onto my SeaFrogs / Meikon Salted Line housing for the Sony a6300. With the macro port attached to it I have a 67mm thread for a Wet Lens. Inside is the SEL1855 kit lens. Does anyone use that set up and knows if there will be vignetting because of the macro port? Hello fellow photographers and divers! I have some doubts that are killing me internally and keep me from sleep 😂. I have thought of buying a Sony Alpha a7 mark 1, and keep it as my dive camera. Since its not too expensive, its compact, and it does a great job. I am also considering getting the A7 s, which will potentially improve the results and the price difference is not too much. It would be worth it. My reason to go for a Sony Alpha as my dive camera is because their underwater housing are extremely cheap (the Meikon ones) and ive read great reviews about those housings. Also because they are overall quite good and it would work great as a backup, light camera to use aside of my massive 6D + 70-200mm setup. I am planning to just go for the 28-70 kit lens, since its also cheap and it does deliver as expected. Price range is 170-250 euros as used... I am planning to get the camera and lens as second hand. My only issue with this setup is that the Meikon housing for the mark 1, does not have a dome port. And it is something I would quite love to have. The housing designed for the mark 2 however, does support a dome port. So in theory, In order to have a dome port, I would need to start looking at the mark 2 series... For the price of a Sony Alpha a7 II, I could get the A7S (mk 1) and the a7s would be a lot better for what I need... (4k, and low light monster). Now if I have to get the A7S II, then the price would already drastically increase and its out of my budget. So its not worth it just for the dome port. I would love to know your suggestions. If I my setup is not worth it, if there is a better option for me... If the dome port is at all THAT necessary... If you could point out any flaws in this setup im thinking of... things I would eventually regret, I would be FOREVER thankful!! Should I still go for this setup with the A7 and sacrifice the dome port, in order to save as much money as I can? Of course im not expecting professional level pictures, but also not GoPro level pictures.. I want something that looks somewhat decent. I was not planning to exceed a budget of 1000 euros... (A7 + LENS + Housing would be a total of ca. 800-1000 (tops) euros, if I decide for the A7S instead, it would be a total of ca. 1250)

Hey there everyone, I have a Sony A7ii and the new 85mm FE f/1.8. I shoot in shallow water, so structurally the Meikon housing should be perfect. My question is whether or not the 85mm will fit in the port. Meikon said that they didn't recommend it, but it is only 5mm wider than some approved lenses, so I figured I would ask if anyone who has both the lens and the housing would be willing to check if it fits for me. Hi there! I'm new to underwater photography and would be so glad if anybody could give me advice which of the following Systems I should use to take pictures of my kids in, over and underwater. I own a Nikon D750 and a Panasonic Lumix LX 100. Now I was thinking about the following solutions: Lumix LX100 and Meikon housing D750 with Ewa-Marine Both of these solutions are quite cheap but I can't shoot decent overunders with them. Solution with dome port: Canon 100D with Ikelite and Dome Port, If you have experiences with any of these systems I would be so happy to hear about them. I really have a hard time to make a decision. Of course I want to have it all: picture quality, light weight, decent overunders, good control over the settings ;-) Thank you so much in advance, Marianne

I just ordered an RX100m4 and looking for a decent, double o-ring design housing, the Fantasea FRX100-IV looks interesting. Does anyone have experience wih the Fantasea RX housings? Is it working well with the 67mm wide lenses? (h100, wwl-1) After checking out the options, I am quite confused... The Acquapazza establishes a case for Aluminium too. Also there is the Meikon Al housing...

Hi all, I've gotten a wealth of information off this forum, which has led me to the following conundrum. I'd like to get a budget underwater camera with good IQ, wide angle out of the box (well, as wide as it gets!), possibility for wide angle lens addition and strobes in the future. It has narrowed it down to [Camera + Housing = Price]: Canon G15: G15 + Meike G15 £344 G15 + WP-DC48 £448 Canon G16: G16 + Meikon G16 £385 G16 + WP-DC52 £485 G16 + Fantasea FG16 £570 Sony RX100: Sony RX100-ii + Meikon £444 That pretty much puts G16 + Fantasea out of the picture, way above my budget. The IQ of Sony RX100-ii seems like it may be better than the G16? Essentially i'm throwing up Sony RX100-ii + Meikon vs G16 + WP-DC52. What do you guys think? Or do you have any other recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. I started my own strobe and arm system connecting to this 5n using a Meikon housing. It is a good housing if I am using it for shallow water sport but not for diving. I started looking for better housing system. Currently I have found Nauticam, 10bar, Aquatica, Recsea, Acquapazza and have been wondering which is the best. I also have a Nex6 camera and Nauticam is the only company providing a housing for this camera. Thanks
