  2. I have for sale a very nice condition Olympus 12-55 f3.5-6.3 lens. This is a really great lens for under water use. It features electronic zoom as well as manual twist zoom. The electronic zoom is super beneficial for video or if you don’t have zoom gears or a zoom option in your housing port. This lens has only seen top side use, and not much of that either. It was planned for UW, but never ended up getting the housing for the m43 body before changing system. I can send other pictures if wanted or needed. Lens is located in Norway. Will ship worldwide at buyers cost. Looking for $250 or best offer. If you have any questions, please let me know.

  5. Hey all, I am in a bit of a bind; I've seen some discussion on this for land based stuff, but not for underwater. Right now, Sony is offering a pretty good cashback for its mirrorless cameras and I would like to upgrade to something better than my old canon point and shoot. The two contenders are the a6500 and a7ii. I can currently get an a7ii for about a 200 bucks cheaper than the a6500, including accounting for my intended setup (16-50mm kit / 28-70mm and a 50mm f/2.8 macro + equivalent accessories) Quirks of the respective housings aside, i would like your thoughts on the following: 1. Autofocus ability while underwater - how does the a6500's 'best in class' focusing system translate underwater, in comparison to the a7ii 2. Ease of use (i note the a7ii has more control dials), but how does this translate underwater (assuming all dials are accessible on a housing) 3. Image quality - i won't be doing much video, and i've heard the a6500's sensor is nearly as good as the full frame sensor on the a7ii. 4. Better value long term - noting that the a7ii has a relatively outdated sensor, lenses are more expensive, but it still full frame, vs the top of the line APS-C sensor in the a6500 Cheers!

  7. Hello, I would like to shoot the Olympus 8mm f1.8 fisheye lens on a large dome, mainly for splits. I have achieved resonable results with the 4.33" Acrylic dome + 20mm extension, but would like to try it with a bigger dome. I have a DP170N120 which I use for the 7-14mm f2.8 + N85-N120 55mm with Focus Knob adaptateur and 20mm extension. I have tried to use the DP170N120 with the above n85-n120 converter, (without the extension ring) but I get a bit of the top corner cut off. Looking at what is available Nauticam makes an N85-N120 coverter that is only 34mm. (https://www.nauticam.com/products/n85-to-n120-34-7mm-port-adaptor-for-metabones-ef-mft-mount-t-speed-booster-ultra-0-71x) I am wondering if this would work and if indeed there is no corner cropping if the different curvature would not be a problem. I understand there is a DP170N85 dome but that would mean to purchase a full second dome. Has anyone tried? Thank you

  11. I have done a little write up on my blog as I see so many items on sale or ebay or unused when it comes to close up lenses that is almost embarassing The post is specific to mirrorless that I think are much more tricky than DSLR due to the fact the body and the lens are large compared to the small working distance https://interceptor121.com/2019/02/01/how-to-choose-the-best-close-up-lens-for-your-underwater-mft-rig/ Hopefully this helps. Welcome feedback any time...

  13. Wondering if anyone shooting with mirrorless cameras for ambient-only, wide angle (at or within a couple meters of the surface) is noticing a magenta color-shift in their files that cannot be corrected in camera (with custom white balance) or in post completely? It seems there are a few shooters running into this issue.
  14. Hej Vigfus, I haven't seen any mention of housing for either of those, but then again this may be in the works. I guess the question you can ask yourself is what shift there was with the Sony A7 series for example, as they're mirrorless full frame as well. There are full frame adaptors for the new mount with the Z6/7 I believe so you can re-use your old lenses, should they be suitable for underwater. What I would consider would be: * Battery life * Lenses and compatability * Housing availability * Size, is it really that much smaller than a crop DSLR? possibly..? * Heat, this isn't a big issue, but I believe mirrorless can increase fogging somewhat due to the heat they generate from powering the viewfinder/screen - but I guess if you keep your silca packs and your housing clean this isn't such an issue. I'm sure if you looked at the mirrorless of today vs DLSRs of today, and you have your criteria, you could probably make up your mind now, assuming the Z6 and Z7 doesn't bring anything truly innovative to the table which UW photographers can benefit from.

  17. Hi there, In order to upgrade my underwater photography rig (Nauticam and Fujifilm XT-2), I need to sell parts of my current setup. I'm selling a fully equipped and working configuration built around the Olympus EPL-7 camera. I bought it in Kuala Lumpur in November 2016 at Divers Den, a shop specialized in underwater photography. I will provide all the receipts. The housing has been always very carefully maintained, never been flooded and without scratch. I have dived with it 80 times or so. The package contains the following elements: Olympus EPL-7 Silver Camera Body (4846 clicks) Olympus M.Zuiko ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ Olympus Genuine Battery Charger + 2nd Battery BLS-50 Olympus Underwater Housing (PT-EP12) + Olympus Lubricant Olympus Anti-Reflection Ring for 14-42mm EZ (POSR-EP07) Deepshots 3D Printed Zoom Gear for 14-42mm EZ Total price for this package: 1000 EUR For your information, I'm also selling the Olympus Wide Angle Converter (PTWC-01) that fits the housing and converts the field of view to 100 degrees underwater. I also have some spare parts from ULCS (Ultra-Light Control System) for sale, mainly 5 inches ball arms. This underwater photography gear is visible in Paris area (Boulogne-Billancourt) and I can ship it to buyer's costs. Cheers, Guillaume
  18. I have an Olympus Pen E-PM1 which is a mirrorless micro four-thirds camera. It can be shot in full program mode (the camera does everything) to full manual mode (you can set shutter speed, fstop, iso, etc) or anywhere in between. It comes with a 14-42 lens which is a great all-purpose lens. Also included would be the housing which is an Olympus PT-EP06. In addition, I have a focus ring, extra o-ring, adapter kit for adding macro diopters and the flash adaptor for the housing. I also have a tray with two strobe arms and four clamps, my Sea & Sea YS-O1 strobe and a AFO focus light. System have never been flooded. Everything is in perfect working order. Brand new o-ring for housing $700 Or Best Offer for all
  19. I thought I would quickly share my experience using a Sony a6500 underwater. I am using: Sony a6500 in Nauticam housing with Sola 3500 and Intovatec 2500 lights. Zoom - Sony 18-55mm lens in N85 Flat Port 72. Macro - Inon UCL for macro in M67 Flip Diopter Holder. Wide - Sony 10-18mm + Zen Underwater DP-170 Fisheye Dome Port The video here has mostly a6500 footage (0:23 - 3:16): Pros: Having IBIS in a6500 helps to stabilize footage vs. none in the a6300 Using Sony lenses with OSS helps even more Fast autofocus works really well for UW video - especially when subjects move a lot I could get 3+ dives without changing batteries using the Nauticam 2,500 mAh battery pack. Cons: The Sony UW white balance sucks and always need to be corrected in post-production (I use Premiere Pro CC Lumetri). The 4K (3840 x 2160) 30 fps would be better at 100 Mbps and not 60.
  20. A full housing kit including dome, macro port, and video lights. Listed here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273046881051?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  21. Dear all, I am considering buying an Olympus EM10ii for underwater use - if anyone in the UK or Europe has one for sale please let me know. I'll be starting with the setup from scratch so will be looking for body, lenses, housing (nauticam) and ports. I already have a tray and arms and strobes. Thanks, Sarah
  22. Hey there everyone, I have a Sony A7ii and the new 85mm FE f/1.8. I shoot in shallow water, so structurally the Meikon housing should be perfect. My question is whether or not the 85mm will fit in the port. Meikon said that they didn't recommend it, but it is only 5mm wider than some approved lenses, so I figured I would ask if anyone who has both the lens and the housing would be willing to check if it fits for me. Thanks!
  23. After spending 3 years in diving in Fiji it is time to move back home and be a land crab. I will not be diving often enough to justify keeping this nice setup any longer. Nauticam NA-A6000 housing Nauticam Port 45 with knob Nauticam Zoom gear for Sony 16-50 kit lens 1300 USD + Shipping Available for shipping after August 5th
  24. Up for sale are a used Nauticam N85 port 36133 for the Panasonic 7-14mm lens, and the proper gear, 36044. The port shows signs of use, but the acrylic is pretty clean, without significant scratches. The gear is near new. New the items sell for USD 680. I will sell both for USD 325 plus shipping. Photographs of the items can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/craigfuj2/albums/72157680279059392
  25. Almost identical to a recent post, I am looking for a mirrorless camera and underwater setup. I primarily want to use it for shooting stills and macro on coral reefs, occasional wide angle wreck shots, reef scenes too; I also want to use the camera above water. The cameras I am most interested in are the: Olympus om-d e-m1 + Nauticam housing (nau-17806) + 60 mm macro lens and 12-40 pro lens (I am budget conscious though, so am open to using the Olympus housing instead) Olympus om-d e-m5 Mark ii I am also interested in the Sony alpha a7ii, A7s, etc, but I think they are out of my price range. Does anyone have a used mirrorless camera with lenses, an UW housing, ports etc. that they are looking to sell? Backscatter and Bluewater photo are offering a basic underwater setup with the E-M1 for $1699. Will need to build on this with strobes, lenses, etc, but figured I'd check with the WP community first before I pulled the trigger on one of these setups... http://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/olympus-omd-em1-bundle If not a full setup, I want to start piecing it together so I am interested in any mirrorless camera bodies, lenses, housings, etc. Thanks for all of your help!
