Hi everyone, I am preparing for my first international trip in quite a few year (whohoo!!), and realising I am not going to be able to take my housing/camera/lenses/strobes in a carry-on. I'll be flying with Singapore Airlines / Scoot, so 7kg + a personal bag (max 10cm thick) is all I'll take, plus things in pockets perhaps. A Pelican 1637 Air Case sounds like a good solution, to check-in all my underwater photography equipment, except for batteries (the rebreather, wetsuit & other small bits will go in another bag). However I have read quite a few Wetpixel thread, including this one, and noticed concerns about a Pelicase attracting too much attention / risk of getting stolen, and I wonder how real this risk is. Can I ask: => If any one knows personally someone who got his/her pelican case stolen while it was checked-in? If so, what was the itinerary? => Who might have used a Pelican case checked-in for several trips without any issue? Let's not get off-track with tricks to stuff more things in cabin baggage, I am well aware of them (+ many not applicable on the companies I use, which are likely to weigh/measure the carry-ons). thanks a million Nicolas

Purchased in 2012, this package includes: Light & Motion BlueFin G10 underwater housing with OLED monitor Canon Vixia HFS350 Video Camera (includes all cables, software, documentation and 2 batteries) 2 Light & Motion Sola lights (with chargers) Adjustable video light arms Wide angle wet mount lens Pelican 1520 case Physically the housing is in good condition, but it has been well travelled and is showing wear cosmetically (scratches and bleaching spots). Please review the photos carefully. Housing has never been flooded. Both Sola lights are in great condition, however one does not show the red / yellow indicator lights when charging. This package can still take some phenomenal video (check out the link below). I am only selling to upgrade to a Gates system. It will be a great starter kit for anyone who wants to get started in underwater video. Asking $1500 for the entire package (includes shipping in the continental US). Check out the video shot with this setup here:

I have been doing some research on previous posts and have seen that a lot of people suggested the Pelican 1510. I have heard that getting the ikelite into the case is a tight squeeze, does anyone currently use this setup to travel with their Ikelite SLR housing? I have a Lowpro backpack to transport my camera already but I was wondering if anyone has come up with any other carry-on options to fit an Ikelite rig. I really don't want to have to check the housing. If you have pics of your setup in a Pelican 1510 I would love to see it to get a better feel for the size of it/what I could fit in it. Thanks!

My underwater photography is headed in a new direction which means I have one kit too many. I am selling a turn-key Nauticam housing for the Canon 7D and all the trimmings. The kit is about a year old but I have only taken it on two trips. It is in like-new condition and truly is a complete package. Simply put your 7D and a lens in the housing and you’re ready to go! If you have done your homework, you already know that the nearly bullet-proof Nauticam housing and Canon 7D are a great and very popular combination. You can go to the manufacturer’s web site at http://www.nauticam.com/product.asp?id=48 for technical specs. I’ve added a few extras to the housing to make it a top-notch and versatile package - 180 degree straight viewfinder, moisture alarm, Nikonos bulkhead for Ikelite strobes. The housing also has two optical strobe connectors. I am providing an itemized list of the items in the kit and what I paid for them to show you how much money you can save. Everything pictured fits in the travel case although I usually only took two of the port covers when I traveled. Here’s what’s included: Nauticam NA-7D housing with standard viewfinder, handles, port cover, moisture alarm $3,200 Nauticam 180 degree straight viewfinder $1,150 Nauticam 8.5“ acrylic dome port with shade, neoprene cover, port cover $590 Nauticam macro port 94 for Canon 100mm IS, port cover $410 Nauticam zoom gear for Tokina 10-17mm $155 Nauticam zoom gear for Canon 10-17mm $175 Nauticam extension ring 20 with lock, port cover for Tokina 10-17mm $280 Nauticam extension ring 50 with lock, port cover for Canon 17-40mm $310 Nauticam single Nikonos 5-pin bulkhead $110 Two Ikelite sync cords (single Nikonos bulkhead to 2 Ike strobes) $320 Two Ikelite DS-160 substrobes with smart chargers, US & Euro plugs $1,800 Two Ultralight strobe arm kits (4 x 8” arms with associated clamps, connectors) $520 Pelican 1610 wheeled travel case with custom fitted foam $205 8 Stix jumbo strobe arm floats (not pictured, stows in dive bag, 3.2 lbs. of lift) $75 Owners manuals, blank warranty cards, extra o-rings, parts, grease, tools, etc. Total $9,300 In the interest of moving this quickly, I will knock off $2,000 and accept $7,300. I want to sell this as a complete kit so I am not interested in selling the pieces separately at this time. I will ship to US and Canadian addresses only. Buyer pays shipping. Please write with any questions you might have. I can provide additional photos if requested.
