  1. Hi, I'm selling my Sony AX100 camera with Gates Underwater Housing. Price: $5500 CAD (a good deal for US buyers!) Sony AX100 video camera, boxed excellent condition 3 batteries (two non-Sony) 2 chargers Gates Housing Gates wide angle port Gates Water detection alarm Gates housing carry handle Gates housing arms with ball mount adapters Gates underwater collapsible tripod Gates flip red filter 2 Gates O-rings and maintenance kit http://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/handycam-camcorders/fdr-ax100 http://www.gateshousings.com/ax1oo/ AX100 is a fantastic camera, has a 1” sensor recording stunning 4K with good colour depth at 100mbps. Excellent optical zoom for macro video. With wide angle port and zoom, you can go from wide to macro on same dive. Batteries last very well. Memory cards store a lot of video. Built in ND filter. Also takes fantastic still photos. Camera and housing have been lightly used, and are both in excellent condition. Gates housing is fully field serviceable. Tripod is a great piece of gear, adjustable to multiple levels of height and can be positioned well for uneven terrain. This is a prosumer camcorder in a professional housing, making for a great system to take your shooting to the next level. *Selling as a package only
  2. Attached a little clip from our trip to Addu Atoll, the southernmost Atoll of the Maldives in January 2017. Most scenes are from a single dive at "Manta Point" on 14.01.2017, with a few shots from "Gan Kandu South" dive-site added for good measure. Shot on Sony AX100 camcorder in a Gates housing. Video lights (Keldan 4x) where only used in one shot. All other clips are ambient light shots. Color corrected in Davinci Resolve, edited in Final Cut Pro X. Music: Dag Reinbott: The Saviour Hope you enjoy :-)
  3. I thought before heading of to our next trip (Southern Atoll, Maldives) its time to get some footage out on the last one. This is from some of the truly remote areas of Indonesia, the Wetar to Serua portion of our crossing of the Banda Sea from Alor to Ambon last October. Still fiddling with the grading. Even Color Finale Pro in FCPX has its limits... Might move to Davinci after all....
  4. First time of playing with my Sony AX100 in a Gates housing. We were there im mid February during full moon with some VERY strong currents and surge and often less than perfect visibility. At some dive spots like Cap Kri all you could do is just get down quickly, get yourself on a reef-hook and watch the world pass bye... It's still been great fun. Attached some impressions. The setup was fun to use bubffm

  6. Attached a short film of our recent trip to the Wakatobi Resort and Pelagian Yacht. Filmed in 4k on the Sony / Gates AX100 combo. Cheers bubffm
  7. Hi I have completed the BSAC Pro Video course and am looking at getting a video rig of my own. I was trained on Sony video cams in Aquatica housings so I have a level of comfort and familiarity with Sony. However, I have researched the prosumer HD video arena and have short listed to two cameras that fit my budget being the Sony AX100 and Panasonic GH4. Currently, I am caught and in two minds on, which way to go? Be a great help to get some thoughts from the forum regarding, which camera would be the better direction to go in... I am leaning towards the GH4, but I am concerned with its ability to focus under water, and manage contrast. I am also worried about how well it can manually white balance - although this is less of a concern than it's ability to smoothly and cleanly focus. Thanks
