I’ve recently upgraded my camera, so it’s time for me to find a new home for my beloved Canon 70D setup. Everything is in very good working condition, but any cosmetic defects are described below. I have the following for sale: a. Canon EOS 70D Digital SLR Camera body - Specs: 20.2 MP APC-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 5+, 19 point cross-type AF system, shooting up to 7 fps, ISO 100-12800 (expandable to 25600), dual pixel CMOS AF for fast focus in live view and video, 3” articulating touch panel LCD screen, build in flash with integrated speedlite transmitter and hot shoe. - Condition: Very good, sensor was professionally cleaned about a year ago and I have not had issues with dust spots in images since. Cosmetically, there is a scuff on the top of the pop-up flash and a very small scratch on the screen (see pictures). - Included accessories: (2) genuine Canon batteries, Canon charger, 32gb memory card, (2) remote triggers, (2) straps, extra cover, misc. cleaning clothes. b. Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM macro lens - Excellent condition, no cosmetic defects. Includes box, manual, and both caps. c. Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM wide angle lens - Excellent condition, no cosmetic defects. Anti-reflection ring is installed on the front (it’s a sticker you can remove). Includes both caps. d. Ikelite 200FL Underwater TTL Housing for Canon EOS 70D DSLR Camera - Specs: This is the Four Lock (FL) version (#6870.70) with built in TTL flash metering that connects to the hot shoe of the camera to allow the camera to adjust exposure with the flash more accurately. 200’ (60 m) depth rating, slightly negative buoyancy in fresh water, 5.5 lbs. A vacuum valve fitting has been installed on the top mount, allowing you to test the housing for leaks using the attached vacuum pump before taking it in the water. - Condition: Excellent, no cosmetic defects, extremely clean with all controls in good lubricated condition. Has never been flooded. - Included accessories: vacuum pump, many extra o-rings (see picture - main opening, port extension opening, dome/flat port opening, sync cords, strobe battery), extra set of control tips, (2) sets of housing tray screws, acrylic polishing/scratch remover cloths. e. Ikelite #5510.16 port extension (for lenses up to 3.5”) - Excellent used condition, includes both o-rings. - Preferred choice for Canon 60mm f/2.8 EF-S macro lens (with flat port) f. Ikelite #5510.22 port extension (for lenses up to 4.125”) - Excellent used condition, includes both o-rings, (2) zoom ring housing adapters, and (1) zoom ring spring attachment for the lens. - Preferred port extension for Canon 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 EF-S USM wide angle lens (with dome port) - Second choice port extension for Canon 60mm f/2.8 EF-S macro lens (with flat port) g. Ikelite FL/DLM Modular 8” Dome Port (#5510.45) - Condition: Good, dome shade has a good deal of cosmetic scratching and there is a single small scratch on the outside of the dome, which may be able to be removed with the included acrylic scratch-removing clothes. I just never got around to it because the scratch doesn’t show in images. - Included accessories: Neoprene front and rear covers. h. Ikelite FL Modular flat front port (#5510.35) - Condition: Excellent, one scratch on the side (pictured) but glass is in perfect condition. - Included accessories: Front cover. i. (2) Ikelite DS125 Substrobes - Condition: Good, cosmetic scratching on the bodies of both strobes. - Included accessories: (2) diffusers, (2) Ikelite chargers, dual sync cord. j. Ikelite dual-handle tray + arms and clamps. - Tray is the modular version which you can take apart for easier transport if you would like. - Included accessories: (2) Ultralight arms, (2) unbranded float arms, (7) Ultralight dual ball clamps, (1) Seafrogs triple ball clamp, (3) misc. ball attachments, (2) orange carry straps, coiled safety strap. k. (2) F-stop ICU packing cubes - One is a small pro ICU I use to transport the housing, the other is a medium regular ICU I use to transport the strobes and port extensions (see pictures). This would be an excellent entry- or mid-level setup for someone looking to get into DSLR underwater photography. It is ready to dive out of the box, and will include everything you need to get started. At this time, I would like to try to sell everything together. However, if you are only interested in certain pieces, feel free to send me a message. If I get enough interest in individual pieces, I might be willing to split it apart in the future. I’m located in Monterey, CA and am happy to meet up with you in person if you are local or wiling to travel to the area. Otherwise, I can ship this insured to the sale value via any major US carrier. I will split the cost of your preferred shipping method with you. Paypal, Venmo, or Zelle. $3000 OBO + shipping. Make me an offer if you're interested - I want to get this to someone who will use it! Cross posted on Scubaboard where I am more active.

I have a pair of Retra original flashes for sale. These are surplus to requirement as I now have some Retra Pro Xs. Included are wide angle and white diffusers. The Wide angle diffuser is designed for all types of wide angle photography in blue waters. White diffuser is especially suited to green water dives or situations with high chance for backscatter. Disclaimer Unfortunately one of the strobes has a dent (see in pic). Both strobes have been to Retra UWT in Slovenia for servicing (I can provide records). The one with the dent had its charging circuit replaced. $1200 USD/set + shipping I'm based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. If you live close-by then I arrange pick-up. I prefer to sell them as a set but I open to selling sell individually. Neil

Hey all— after selling my DSLR rig, I’m finally bringing my topside camera underwater. I am looking for general advice or testimonials about the setups people seem to like for their a1 or other Sony mirrorless systems. I had an Aquatica for my DSLR— recommend that I stick with them for the a1? I also do not have strobes for this rig yet, but I need to settle on a pair so I can choose my bulkhead. Thanks in advance— I know if this a broad post, but I’m simply looking for what people recommend, what they wish they had/hadn’t purchased, etc. Thank you all!

SUBTRONIC was and still is today the producer and manufacturer of the most “PRO” strobes on the market. The Rolls Royce in Underwater photography Yes, Subtronic strobes are heavier and more expensive strobes than any other strobes, but many pro swear by them for their soft light, color temperature, high power and even distributed light coverage. You needed a lot of money in the past to consider Subtronic strobes and afford it… 1'500$/€ still today for a new one. Here is a UNIQUE opportunity to get 1 or 2 of them, SUBTRONIC NOVA Nikon Analog TTL One of the most powerful UW flash ever made by Subtronic with a power of 270 Ws. The UW guide number is 36 (22 for 2 meters) and an underwater illumination angle of 116 degrees, very even distributed with almost no fall-off. The flash recycle time (minimum/full power) ranges from 0.1 to 2.5 seconds. In addition to a Nikon TTL function (analog Nikon cameras!), the strobe also has 6 manual power levels (only these could be used for digital photography). But who uses TTL for wide angle with these strobes? Honestly, they are not ideal for Macro, but a dream for wide angle and Fish-eye The pilot light in the center of the ring flash tube can be switched to two power levels. The strobe also has a slave flash function, an SOS flash function, a flash-ready indicator and a battery charge level indicator. The battery (as a strobe arm Ø 30mm , separate, which is ideal when traveling by plane) can still trigger 200+ flashes at full power, ensuring minimum of 2 dives if not 3. The flash comes complete with battery arm with 2 Subtronic clamps, with a sync cord (N5-N5 or N5-S6 to choose) , charger, and instruction manual. Price for 1 unit = 400€/US$ Price for 2 units = 650€/US$ (2nd strobe is exactly the same) Shipping worldwide for additional 20€/US$ (1 unit)or 30€/US$ (2 units)

I've been doing underwater photography in ambient light (mostly in freshwater streams) to get image of fish both in macro and wide angle. I kind of wish to add strobes to my kit this year to get better colors, get to lower ISO, more depth field and also not depend on perfect sun conditions to go out. I'm a bit puzzled with strobes choice and wanted to know if you guys have pointers for the kind of strobes I should need given the light conditions I work with. By example, should I buy Inon Z330 or the less powerful D200? (I shoot with a sony A7III, 90mm macro and 8-Canon 15 mm fisheye). Thank you!

Hey everyone! I am a wildlife photographer and diving enthusiast, and I finally want to combine both of these passions. I have to admit that I am a bit overwhelmed by trying to figure out all of the gear I’ll need in order to do so, and I am thus seeking a little bit of help with some questions and with ensuring I don’t make any mistakes buying my first round of gear. If I state anything wrong in my post please correct me, as I am here to learn! Camera I own a Sony a1 Camera. Lenses From my research, the 2 most important lenses for underwater photography are a wide-angle and a macro lens. I currently don’t own a macro lens, but I would probably buy the Sony FE 90mm F2.8 macro lens sometime in the future. For now, I want to start with a wide-angle setup. From my understanding, the Sony 16-35mm F4 is highly recommended. I already own the Sony - FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM and believe I should be able to find a suitable dome for it? Housing I have been researching different housing options and so far there are 3 housings I am debating: Ikelite 200DL Underwater Housing: This is the cheapest option, with the biggest downside being that it’s heavier and not as sturdy as a full aluminium housing. Nauticam Sony a1 & a7S III Underwater Housing NA-α1: The most expensive option. With Nauticam being the biggest player in the underwater housing world, it seems to be an amazing option with the only “downside” being the price and that it’s hard to fix any problems with it myself, since the internal workings are very complex. Aquatica Sony a1 Underwater Housing: Priced between the Ikelite and the Nauticam. What I currently think may be the best option for me- if anyone has any experience with this housing, or a reason I shouldn’t get it, I would love to know more! Strobes and TTL This is what I’m struggling most with. I tried to make a list of all of the gear I need for a full working wide-angle set-up with an Ikelite Housing and Ikelite Strobes: 200DL Underwater Housing for Sony a1, a7S III Mirrorless Digital Right Hand Quick Release Handle with Extension Vacuum Pump with Gauge ikelite DL 8" Dome Port for Wide-Angle and Zoom Lenses in DSLR and Mirrorless Housings ikelite DL 28mm Port Extension DL 50mm Port Extension Zoom / Focus Gear 5509.16 Ikelite Anti-Reflection Ring for Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 (Type I) GM Lens in Underwater Dome Port 2x Ikelite DS-161 Strobe with NiMh Battery DL2 DS Link Sony TTL Converter Ikelite ST1 Hotshoe Kit Sync Cord Two Ikelite Strobes to Ikelite Bulkhead 2x Wide Angle Ball Arm for Quick Release Handle So what I am not completely understanding is: Do I need the DL2 DS Link Sony TTL Converter Ikelite ST1 Hotshoe Kit and the Sync Cord Two Ikelite Strobes to Ikelite Bulkhead to make the Strobes and TTL work? If I use the Aquatica Sony a1 Underwater Housing, what would my set-up look like and what dome port can I use? Apparently, Aquatica works with Ikelite Strobes TTL? Do I also need the Ikelite Hotshoe Kit and Sync Cord or is something like this already included in the underwater housing? Could someone help me with a list of suitable strobes, the required cabels and TTL adapters and with a dome for the Sony - FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM when using the Aquatica Sony a1 Underwater Housing? Also, does it even make sense for me to invest this amount of money at the start and take my a1 underwater? Since I already own the G1 it feels like it, but I know it’s a big and expensive set-up. So far, I have only used a GoPro underwater and I was debating if I should start “smaller” before going for an a1 Housing. Maybe a point and shoot like the Olympus Tough TG + Housing or a cheaper Sony full-frame camera. Perhaps someone with a bit more experience could help guide me on what the best option is. I appreciate any help!

Hi everyone, Does anyone have any tips or tricks for shooting with just one strobe? I’d also love suggestions on websites that discuss the technique. I couldn’t find much content when I searched. The only tip I found was to position the strobe right above camera…around the area where a regular, not u/w strobe would sit if it were attached to the camera’s hot shoe for land based photography. I know shooting with two is best, but sometimes you can only shoot with one. Thanks and happy bubbles, sbp

Hi Folks, I am headed to the Galapagos next month and thought it might be an excuse to upgrade my strobes. I am currently shooting YS-D2Js. They have been relatively reliable compared to the train wreck that were the D2s before them. That said, one seems to be acting up a bit, so I thought it might be time to look at alternatives. I have loved the Reta concept since the original Pros were released. I also have the LSD snoot that will work great with the Retras. I understand now that Retra has caught up with manufacturing delays, so shipping is immediate. Compound that with a weak Euro, the Retras are tempting. A few questions: The D2Js have a rated cycle speed of 1.5 seconds at full power. There are lies, damn lies, and that statistic. It seems much longer. How does the cycle speed of the Retras at equivalent power compare to the D2Js? Also, I seem to have a tendency to hit the thermal throttle of the D2J wherein once you take enough shots at maximum output, it needs to cool, and prevents you from taking further pictures for a while. With its all-aluminum housing, does the Retra last longer before you hit the thermal throttle and/or does it cool down faster than the D2J? Thanks! -Drew

Basically brand new. Used twice. They fit Sea&Sea YS-D1, YS-D2 and YS-D2J strobes. I have the YS-D3s now and have no use for them. They've been sitting in a clean stored away area for awhile now and would love to get them to a good home. Selling for $50 for both or $30 apiece. Brand new they are $90 apiece. Thanks! Dan

Setting up new camera and housing. Can't get my strobes to fire. Setup details below. I just bought the Nikon Z7II Mirrorless camera and housed it in my first ever Nauticam housing (have been shooting Ikelite with previous DSLR cameras). Strobes are Ikelite DS160s (freshly back from servicing at Ikelite). I am using Sea&Sea SS-50128 F/O Sync Cord II M/2 fiber optic cables. Interfacing with the strobes using ikelite 4401.3 fiber optic adaptor. I can see the flash firing inside the housing by viewing with the fiber optic cables disconnected. Fiber optic cables seem to be fine as I see the fire at the non housing end of the cable when not connected to the strobes. I tested the strobes using Ikelites "shorting" method to verify the strobes are working (brand new batteries and fully charged). That leaves the fiber optic adapter as the culprit. Any insight/suggestions for troubleshooting or testing these adaptors? I am sending an email to Ikelite to see what insight they might have. Thanks, in advance, Lopes I can't get the strobes to fire. I have verified I am getting firing from the camera to housing as I am seeing the red flash through the fiber optic ports.

Never went, but bought the equipment in advance. Finally got back into water last month and found out UW photography takes more concentration and buoyancy skill than I have. I have substantial ear-clearing problems requiring physician consultation/scripts, and which force me to make a lot of depth changes, challenging my fairly rudimentary buoyancy maintenance skills. UW photography is a further complication I just don't need. Best online prices I could find for all these items as of 10/31/21 totaled $2706 + tax. Offering the whole kit for $1,595. Buyer chooses/pays for shipping method.

For sale is a used pair of Sea & Sea YS-D2J strobes. Includes the manuals, diffusers (100 and 120 degree), the ball mounts, and the YS mounts, as well as a few tubes of o-ring lube, an extra battery cap and o-ring for the battery cap. I bought these in 2018, and have dove with them ~150 times. Full disclosure: the battery compartment on one of them flooded about 2 years ago. I cleaned it out, replaced the battery cap and o-ring, and haven't had any issues with it since. New these go for $689.95, get the whole kit from me for $800, including shipping in the US.
