Hey All, I am hoping I can find some advice for choosing appropriate video lights from some experienced forum users. I am an experienced stills shooter and have some prize money from a photo contest, which I have decided to use for video lights as I am happy with my still equipment. The prize money goes towards gear from SUPE / Scubalamp products. I intend to use the video lights for both GoPro and DSLR / Mirrorless purposes. I will mostly use them shallow <10m 30 feet; but will likely want to use them deeper at times and white balance accordingly. I'm trying to choose between 3 options at the moment. 1) Go with inexpensive 5000 lumen lights x2 that are not compatible with blue filters, but will not require much outlay of cash beyond the prize. 2) Go for 2x7500 lumen lights and blue filters that will require I outlay a fair bit of cash beyond the prize. 3) Go for 1x12000 lumen light and blue filter, which will require a modest outlay of cash. I suppose my big question is whether one powerful light or 2 more modest lights will be better in the short run... Thanks for any input.

I received my SeaFrogs SF-02 light today. It appears functional; i.e., it come on and goes through the colored lights and back to white. However, I have a few questions and the manual doesn't provide much input. 1. When I turn the dial the number in the right window changes from 1 to 9 but the light intensity stays the same. Isn't it supposed to change from dim to brighter? 2. It is very unclear to me what I am supposed to do with respect to Setting 1/2/3 and how I know what setting mode I am in. Does anyone have a clearer description of this lights operation and modes than the manual provides? Thanks for your help, Rick

Hi All, I am looking for video lights that can operate both above and below the water for extended time (40 mins+). This is a bit hard to find as most underwater video lights need water to prevent them from overheating. Right now the only option I am able to find is the Light and Motion Stella CL 1000/2500 UW Video Light. The light will function up to 1000 lumens above water and up to 2500 lumens below water. Based on my experience 2 x 1000 lumen video lights is sufficient lighting above water to illuminate photography subjects up to 5 meters away. However, underwater I am not sure if 2 x 2500 Lumen Video lights would provide enough lighting to be useful underwater. My questions are: 1. What type of underwater photography/video would 2 x 2500 lumen Video Lights allow me to do achieve decently? I know it should be enough for macro but what about medium sized subjects at about 0.5 -1 meter distance? 2. Does anyone have experience using the Light and Motion Stella CL 1000/2500 UW Video Light? How was your experience? 3. Does anyone know of other Video Light options that are able to operate above and below water at extended periods? Thanks, Aaron -

Price point, cri, burn time all checks out, and I like that they make their own ambient light filters. Just wondering if anyone have used them for a while already and can share their experience? -
Selling my Ikelite DS161 strobe / video light combo. It comes complete with the smart charger, as well as a 1" Ball Mount Mark II and removable diffuser with protective cap. If you're using a fiber optic sync cable, I'm also selling my Ikelite Fiber-Optic Converter for DS Substrobes and LED Triggers here too. The DS161 features a depth rating of 328'. The DS161 is offered here with an NiMH battery pack, a smart charger with a US/North American plug, and a The strobe has a power rating of 160 watt-sec and a guide number of 38-76' at ISO 100, depending on whether you're underwater or above water. It provides a wide 90° angle of coverage, which is increased to 100° when you add the supplied diffuser for softening the light output. The 4800K color temperature is even warmer than daylight and restores hues that get absorbed underwater, bringing vibrancy and color accuracy back to your images. When combined with a compatible TTL system, the DS161 automatically adjusts brightness to provide ideal TTL flash exposure--whether you're shooting at macro, portrait, or wide-angle focal lengths. Manual exposure mode is also available to give you greater control. The strobe is equipped with an Ikelite ICS-5 bulkhead connector, which is also present on many Ikelite underwater camera housings, and requires a sync cord. I am selling my 10K lumen Scubalamp video light. This was the first video light I got when I got back into diving. I have since purchased other lights and this one is gathering dust so I am offering it up for sale. This light has a 16 LED bank for white lighting and 5 LED's for red and 5 for UV/blue. It has two buttons for operation, one for white lighting with a high/med/low selection, and the other for cycling UV/red. It charges via any standard USB micro charger, which is not pictured but is included. The light comes with the case as pictured, a ball attachment joint, the original replacement O Rings plus 8 extra spare O-Rings which I got from my local Scubalamp distributor. Total MAh is 77.7 which is under the TSA 100MAH limits for airline travel. There are a few minor dings/scratches along the front and rear edges which do not affect the light in any way. This is a great light to start with if you want to pack a lot of power without the huge budget of many of the video lights on the market. was $400 no $330 shipped to the lower 48 I forgot that I had not listed here and only had it posted on another forum
