  1. I copy and paste my previous message in a proper thread that could be very useful for future users. I'm helping my buddy with a Sony A7RIV + Sigma 15mm-MC-11 combo. The camera become completely unstable. It switches itself between AFS and AFC. Occasionally it focuses or the screen goes black. The aperture does not work. We initially tried with original fw and then updated camera and ring to the latest fw version The sigma manual explains that if the ring led is off, the lens is not compatible and Sigma does not list the 15mm as a compatible lens but I trusted the many users here in the forum. Given the so many references here for this lens, any suggestion? At this point we will try the Metabones smart adapter V asap. Is there some reason not to chose the Meta Smart Adapter IV over the V? Thank you all
  2. Hi Looking for help from anyone using the S-Turtle smart trigger on a Sony A7 series, specifically I have the A7RIV with Retra Pro X strobes. I have two problems: 1. The trigger uses a ‘smart connection’ (not the dumb firing method), so when I switch it on the camera automatically goes to Live View Off mode. This negates a big benefit of a mirrorless camera as it is no longer WYSIWYG . E.g if I want to shoot macro using just torches, the view is blown out and it’s impossible to see the subject to get accurate focus. 2. I can’t get a shutter speed higher than 1/250. As soon as the trigger is turned on (experimented on land with housing open) it immediately limits me to the flash sync limit of 1/250. Yet the combination trigger and strobe should be capable of high speed sync? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Merry Christmas! I am looking for a bit of advice, and perhaps some reassurance on my imminent setup choices. I am an avid snorkeler in the North of Scotland, in the water probably 300 days of the year. I also scuba dive here weekly. As I snorkel and freedive I have been enjoying using a small camera set up without strobes, olympus OMD EM5MKII in nauticam housing with an 8mm fisheye and mini dome. I really enjoy shooting split shots and like the versatility of the fisheye. I've wanted to start using strobes for my scuba and now have two inon z330s, but I enjoy using the camera without strobes down to 10m whilst snorkeling as it is less bulky. This is my first underwater camera setup, and when I have come to print images larger, they just aren't as sharp as I'd like. So my research has lead me to look at something with a larger sensor that would be far more light sensitive, whilst not being too bulky. I've settled on a Sony A7Riv with a sigma 15mm fisheye and 14mm dome port. Does this sound like the correct setup for how I dive or is there something out there that I am overlooking? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
