  1. Bait balls and huge packs of goliath groupers…Diving in Florida does not get much better than this! Each year from late August through the end of September, hundreds of these goliath groupers aggregate on a handful of wrecks throughout South Florida. The baitfish they draw in, along with large schools of snappers and grunts make for a truly amazing dive. This was filmed over several weekends diving the MV Castor with Underwater Explorers. Big thanks to the owner Kevin for making this experience possible.
  2. I just posted the a video from a recent Palau trip: http://www.peterwalker.com/palau.html It is a HD online video (hosted from Vimeo) so you will need a fast internet connection or wait patiently for it to buffer. I do have a couple of other online videos in the pipeline (Caves, Jellyfish Lake) but this is the "mating aggregation" video so I focused on uploading this one first. Thanks to David Cheung of ScubaCam for putting this trip together. Regards Peter Camera: Canon XF100 Housing: BS Kinetics Makla Takan Editing: Final Cut Pro X 10.1
  3. Hello diving photogs. Just a heads up that the 100ft dive liveaboard "Ultimate Getaway" is running a special trip Sept 5 - 8, 2013 to dive some great SW FL offshore wrecks known to harbor schools of Goliath Grouper. These dates are right at the peak of expected aggregation maximum (new moon of Sept.) I was on this boat in early Oct of 2010 with David Doubilet shooting Goliath images & video on the Baja California wreck for 2 days. We saw dozens of clustered goliath eventhough peak aggregation was well over by then. That trip inspired me to work with Ultimate Getaway to plan a dedicated trip targeted to finding goliath schools on SW FL wrecks. Here is the link to details on the trip we came up with: 2013 Ultimate Getaway Goliath & Wreck Photo Trip Regards, Brian D.
