  1. I'm a new member to the site and would love to hear feedback for my most recent video. Looking for both positive and negative critiques. Always looking to learn and improve. Video was shot with a GoPro 7 or 8 and two light and Motion video lights on a tray with TLC arms. Some of the high lights are blown out I need to find out if I can do a minus exposure compensation on the GoPro. Thanks for looking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTDQ6XtWeiE&t=2s
  2. I've uploaded a short video from a snorkeling trip I took last Thursday, Nov 1, 2018, off San Diego CA. We ran into some baitballs and I shot this using my GoPro Hero 7 and Phantom 4 Drone. -Roger Uzun rogeruzun@gmail.com
  3. I posted a short video of a snorkeling session I had on Nov 6, 2018 in La Jolla Cove with some California Sea Lions, primarily to test out the Hero 7. It's on Vimeo here - -Roger Uzun rogeruzun@gmail.com
  4. Went Snorkeling here in San Diego, CA this AM (April 1st). Water temps were very cold, 50-51F. Still there were several turtles around, and some seven gill sharks as well. I don't know how the turtles can stand such cold water. The air temps were warmer but the turtles never seem to leave the water so... Here's a short video of the mornings swim, shot with a GoPro Hero 6 Black - -Roger Uzun
  5. Here's a short video I made showing the recent Tuna Crab Invasion at La Jolla Shores and Cove in San Diego CA. This video shows the disruption all these crab have on other species in the area. Shot in March of 2018 using a Panasonic GH5 camera, Nauticam Housing and Panasonic 14-42mm lens.
  6. Just posted a brief video showing California Lizardfish feeding on Anchovy off La Jolla Shores in San Diego, CA. Shot with a Panasonic GH5, Keldan Luna 4 Video Lights and a Panasonic 14-42mm lens.
  7. I have a used strike housing for my Canon 580 mkII, I'd like to keep my flash and sell just the housing but if want the housing and need a 580 II than make me an offer for both and I might sell them together. I've only used this housing a handful of times, I believe it's an older model since it looks a bit different to what AquaTech is showing on their current website. This flash housing has three snap clamps instead of the newer allen screws. The condition is great, I have a five+ year old camera housing for my canon 7D and never had a single issue, I keep my gear clean and lubed. The original coil cord that connects the flash to the main camera housing rotted out so I purchased a new short cord that is not coiled and also a longer cord tha I believe is 10 meters. The longer cord was used for some pool underwater work I did (camera underwater and the flash housing high and dry triggering my studio lights via a radio trigger). Both cords are included. The original small mount for attaching the flash housing to the main camera housing is gone and I have the off center plate that mounts this to the grip handle (longer screws included). I'm sure the small mount is available through AquaTech if you want to go that road. The other cords included are your hotshoe cord. A tool for prying open the housing door, this came with the housing and makes it easy to open but you should be able to open the housing without it. Not really sure what used strike housings go for but I'm guessing maybe around $400, better than $695 for new. Located in Oceanside (Southern California) Jeffrey I have a website at http://www.jeffreyfortuna.com/that has some underwater work including some of the pool work I mentioned. Jeffreyfortuna at gmail I'm new here but have over 160 ebay transaction with 100% positive ratings. I'm open to ship so message me for estimated shipping cost if you're interested.
  8. Hi everyone, posting in from Monterey Bay, This video features the excitement of diving in a world class destination like Monterey and Carmel. Divers here go to great lengths to squeeze in that perfect dive, but it's all worth it to experience all the amazing things we see down there.
  9. Hello All, I wanted to share with you footage from some pretty nice southern California diving at and around San Clemente island (part of Channel Islands national park) - shot with Gopro Hero HD3 Black, at 2.4k / 'camraw' @ 24fps. I had GoPro hooked for stability to same tripod I sometimes use for my 5dmk2 housing -- which for a small GoPro was maybe a bit excessive! ;-) Post in Premiere CS5.5 with some [heavy duty] color correction applied. I hope you like it! PS. Dove from Vision of Truth Aquatics out of Santa Barbara
  10. It has been far too long since I last visited Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel CA. I had heard from other divers that the Cabazon males could be found guarding eggs this time of year but that this yearly event was nearly over. On Monday 2/24 condition were incredible with 50' visibility and very little surge. I lucked out and found this rather large Cabazon (Scorpaenichthys marmoratus) near the "Hole in the Wall" just outside Whalers Cove. This was shot at f10 @ 125th second, Manual mode housed DSLR, 100mm Macro Lens and two strobes 1/2 power and -4 power. Processing this image was very straight forward with minor adjustments to increase contrast, sharpen and very little backscatter removal, thanks to relatively clear water. I wish I had spent some time bracketing my depth of field to see a little more sharpness in the pectoral fins. Next time... Keith
  11. I posted a short video from a series of 3 dives I did last Friday Oct 19th at the Coronado Islands in Baja California very close to San Diego. It's just footage from that one day, but it features a number of sea lions in very good viz (for this area). Additionally there's a whitetail major at 1:36 which is an unusual fish to be found in this area (usually occurs quite a ways south of here). Footage was shot with a Sony HDR-XR520v camcorder in a Bluefin Pro Housing from Light and Motion, using Light and Motion Sunray 2000x video lights (with lithium batteries). -Roger Uzun The video can be seen on youtube here (up to 1080p) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxhj1mQb7-c or on Vimeo here (720p) - https://vimeo.com/51975063
