I am selling a Canon Powershot G12 package that includes both the G12 camera and a Canon WP-DC34 underwater housing. This is a great little package to take underwater photos and is particularly suited for someone wanting to get started. For its size, the G12 takes very good pictures. It is also unique in that it is a compact camera that has the capability to shoot RAW and also in Manual mode, making it a very versatile little system. I have not been diving with this housing in quite a while – I have been using the camera on land mostly. I recently checked the housing over, verified the O-ring was in good shape and also did a leak test with it. It had no problems, no leaks. It is in really good shape. The camera is in overall great condition with a few nicks and scuffs from normal use, however, full disclosure, the G12 periodically freezes. This has not happened often but, every once in a while, it does this. The solution has been to turn it off and back on and that cures it. For me, it is just an occasional inconvenience, but it is something you should be aware of and consider in deciding whether to buy it. It still takes great pictures for its age and form factor and, aside from this, the camera works just fine. Although I’d like to sell this as an all-inclusive package with both the camera and the housing, because of the G12 quirk mentioned above, I’m willing to sell just the housing and housing accessories (no camera), if you prefer (for instance, if you already have a G12). For the FULL package including the G12, housing , BigEye lens and accessories, I am asking $270.00 + shipping, For the just the Housing alone (including the BigEye lens and lens caddy - no G12), I’m asking $190.00 + shipping Payment by Paypal Items are located in USA. I will ship to USA addresses. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer (G12 package weighs appx. 2.3 lbs., dimensions: 8 1/4” x 6” x 5.5”. Housing/BigEye package weighs appx. 3.3lbs., dimensions: 14” x 9” x 5.5”. NOTE: If you purchase the whole system, I can either ship in these two packages or combine them into one package if you want. Shipping would be about the same in either case, I think.) I could only include a couple of pictures of the package in the post due to an image size limitation. Here is a link to all of the pictures: https://jcgoldingphotography.smugmug.com/DivingandTravel/Canon-G12-Camera-with-UW-Housing/n-v6gQfx Camera: Canon Powershot G12 Shutter/Actuation count: 12,451 for most Canon cameras, the shutter/actuation count lifetime is about 100,000 Camera Strap OEM Battery Charger 3 batteries OEM AV cable OEM Transfer cable Case for Canon Powershot G12 (not pictured) *I do not have the original hard-copy manuals for this camera or lens, but I can provide links to download pdfs of them or even include my pdf copies on a usb stick if you prefer. Housing: Canon WP-DC34 Underwater Housing for Canon Powershot G12 WW-DC1 Weight Set (4 pack) This is used to add weight to the WP-DC34 to make it less buoyant. The housing is pretty floaty unless you have it on a tray setup with strobe arm(s). That kind of setup would add weight. I can provide directions on how to use these Fantasea BigEye G Series wide-angle (wet) lens for WP-DC34 Fantasea EyeGrabber Lens Caddy for G Series + Hardcopy of instructions for this accessory *I do not have the original hard-copy manuals for the Housing or the BigEye lens, but I can provide pdfs of them on a usb stick. Please Note: I have verified the housing is working as it should and does not leak. That being said, it is the buyer’s responsibility to know how to properly set up and maintain the housing. I recommend that if you buy this equipment, the first thing you do is perform a leak test on the empty housing to assure yourself that everything works as expected. I will not accept responsibility for damage to a camera due to a flooded housing! I just can’t - there are too many variables associated with how a person may use the equipment that I have no control over.

An age old question I suppose ... I've been shooting successfully on a Canon G12 in a Recsea housing for around 7 years (here's a gallery of my latest marine life portrait images, only 7 of which were not shot on the G12: https://pinktankscuba.com/2016/01/04/latest-images-gallery/) I write for a monthly scuba magazine and have had 4 covers shots to date out of my G12. My greatest joy in life is getting shots others don't get because my single-strobe compact rig is so tiny and versatile I never have to swim away from a shot. My housing is so old it needs to be replaced (alas it's obsolete) and I am keen to upgrade to a larger sensor for improved image quality. I recently scored a total bargain on a 2nd hand Canon 7D in Nautical housing, but even after replacing the insanely heavy Ikelite strobes with Sea and Sea YSD2, the rig is still impractically heavy (too much weight for travel, the fabulously functional housing is much larger than I am used to which prevents me from seeing my frequently small / macro subjects with my own eyes, etc.) After 7 years of versatility of shooting with great inbuilt telephoto, macro mode enhanced by flip diopters etc which are essential at the incredibly diverse dive sites I dive most days of the week (shooting nudis to smooth rays and everything in between on a single dive), I LOATHE choosing a lens pre-dive and want to go screaming back to compact. Ultimately in the all the trade-offs from trading up to the DSLR, I definitely feel I have lost more than I have gained. When the DSLR housing was recently away for servicing for 3 months, people who didn't know I'd gone back to the G12 kept telling me how much better my photos were now that I owned a DSLR (even though it wasn't responsible for the photos I was sharing online). Online and even in magazines, most people honestly can't pick the quality difference. I have listed my 7D rig for sale twice this week and removed it both times due to feeling so conflicted - the Canon world just feels so comfortable and honestly the housing is an absolute (albeit painfully bulky) dream to drive (today the doctor confirmed that I have pulled a tendon in my camera carrying hand that will likely take 'at least a year' to heal). In part I am clinging onto the 7D because I can't find a large sensor compact rig I would be happy to exchange it for. I LOVE the specs on the Canon G7X EXCEPT that the battery life is reportedly dodgy which is my absolute top criteria in a camera (my dives are typically 2-4 hrs each, and I typically run out of camera battery before I run out of my 12 litres of air ...). My second quality of life criteria is 'shoot everything and anything that comes my way' which demands a level of versatility that only a G12 can apparently deliver. I was almost ready to buy a Sony RX100 Mark IV (better battery life than Mark V) but the colours on the Sony leave me craving Canon (for all the hype, I'm unable to find any uw images online that I love shot with this camera) and other things I've read in reviews have left me 2nd guessing whether it would be a good fit for me. Honestly, give me a bigger sensor on my G12 and a good quality new or second hand housing for it with an 0-ring thicker than the pathetic elastic hair tie equivalent in the housing I already have and I would be happy for the rest of my life ... or someway to double the battery life on the G7X ... So no matter what I do there's an epic trade-off. And even though I've literally stretch a tendon in my hand due to the weight of the 7D, I've been stuck trying to make this decision and getting dizzy from the endless 360s on To Sell or Not to Sell; To Buy or Not To Buy .... You may not be able to offer any new perspectives I haven't already thrashed through with my rapidly tiring sounding boards, but I'll take a shot and put it out there (just please don't tell me to 'man up' - I will never be a man and have no desire to ever become one ...) Has anyone here got any suggestions or advice for me? How did you navigate your transition from compact to DSLR and possibly back again or in reverse? What would you do if you were me? Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might like to throw into the mix ....

Doing a little closet cleaning and found a few more items. Prices include PP and shipping to the CONUS. Will consider other locations at buyer's expense. You can find feedback for me over on Fred Miranda where I have bought and sold plenty of camera gear over the years (search Josh Rackley). Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see more images. Item 1: Inon UCL-165 M67 (67mm thread mount). Excellent condition. I actually don't think I ever used this, but lets say a couple dives at most to be safe. $100 Paypal’d and shipped. Buy with the below lens adapter (item 2) for $120. Item 2: Ikelite 67mm Macro Lens Adapter for 3.9" Ports. Excellent condition. Part #9306.82 $30 Paypal’d and shipped. Item 3: Ultalight arm adapter for a UK Light Canon light. Excellent condition. $10 Paypal’d and shipped. Item 4: Ikelite housing for Canon G12 and G11. Includes Ikelite housing, dual tray handle, single tray handle, BOTH a Canon G12 and Canon G11 (both fit in the housing), 2 wide angle dome ports (# 6430.4), 4 canon batteries (one didn’t make the pictures), 2 chargers, and 2 diffusers (not pictured). One WA dome port has a scratch about 3/8", could possibly be buffed out but not 100% sure as it’s a little deeper than the other port, and the other has a few minor scratches that could be buffed out, but don’t recall them effecting image quality. Never flooded and never leaked. Has a few niks and scratches from a few years of well-loved use. However, I haven’t used this since 2015 when I got a DSLR (also for sale in another post). I kept it for backup but it has stayed in the closet. It was last serviced by Ikelite in February 2013. Cost of that service was $113. I would highly recommend it goes in for a service before using it since it hasn’t been used in a while and I can’t guarantee the integrity underwater, so selling cheap. It may be fine and you could give it a try with no camera. $350 Paypal’d and shipped.

For Sale: A Canon DC34 Camera housing for a Canon G12 (although I see where others are stating it fits a Canon G11 also...???) in good condition. Includes two diffusers, as well as a FIX wide Air Lens (DC-28) with Backscatter cover and box. The housing is mounted on and includes a SEA&SEA platform with Ultralight adapters. There is also a bag of misc. velcro and flash receivers to configure whatever flash set up you want. I typically don't like selling anything on-line, especially an item that requires some degree of experience to operate properly to prevent it from leaking but this housing works perfect! I've been using it for several years without incident. I'm only asking $250 plus shipping for all. Feel free to contact me at charlie@visionquestranch for more information if needed or interested.

Hello everyone and anyone, I am desperately in need of assistance. I have been shooting underwater for years, but not with strobes. I have a trip coming up very soon and I have purchased an old Ikelite Substrobe 100 and an A35. The A35 I realize is only optical, not a problem. I purchased a used cord for the Ikelite 100 to connect to my Canon G12's Ikelite housing and it won't fire through the hotshoe connection. I have gone through troubleshooting everything I can think of. I tested the cord, and it will fire the strobe. I have even put the hotshoe connection on my 5dmk3, and it will fire the strobe. It is just the G12 that isn't firing the strobe. I'm praying that someone has had this or a similar problem and knows what I'm doing wrong, or what needs to be done to fix it. Below are some other things I have tried. Cord works at both ends, and strobe can be triggered all the way into the case. Tested using a paper clip and touching the correct terminals. So, connections are good all the way from the flash to the inside of the housing. I read things that suggested that some older strobes can't do ttl. So, I wondered if that was the problem and they suggested placing electrical tape over the connective parts and seeing if that works. I couldn't get that to work. I may be taping off the wrong parts or that may not be the issue. My canon G12 hotshoe works fine. I can place a Canon 600 EX-RT on top of it and it fires fine. (The nice camera and flash are my work equipment, not mine. If I could afford all of that, I could probably afford new strobes rather than old used ones. ) If anyone has any advice at all, I greatly appreciate it. If I can't get this to work, then I may have to just rig up something to block the on camera flash and try to just use the A35. If the Substrobe 100 is not compatible for some reason, is there a way to remove the port from that and attach it where the optical port is on the A35? Thanks in advance!!! Aaron

Hi...a client of mine has a Canon G12 with and Ikelite Housing and dual D125 Strobes. The strobes seem to function normally at 1/8 and 1/4 power...but as soon as they are turned up to 1/2 or full power the shots come out almost black. This occurs whether on manual or automatic settings. I spent hours trying to trouble shoot this yesterday with no luck and am starting to think it might be the circuit in the hot shoe. The strobes and sync cord function perfectly when attached to his Sony compact camera. Any thoughts or ideas...something I am missing? Thanks for any help!
