SAGA Trio specifications: Size: 136 x 84 x 73mm Weight: 708 gr/1.6 lbs Weight in Water: 200 gr/.44 pounds Aluminum 6082 Hard anodized, with extra hard on the working areas (Thread and levers) Lenses are Vacuum Sealed This lens revolutionizes all the wet magnification systems now available. You can switch between 0, +5, +10, +15 diopters quickly all with one device! The patented system of two levers makes it possible for photographers to use a very easy system of changing the magnification, even while they are looking through the viewfinder. Trio allows you to reach 4 different power ratios in the minimum time possible, and with maximum optical quality. Manufactured in mechanized aluminum with hard anodizing, Trio has two groups of lenses, one with a +5 diopter and the other with a +10. These two groups can be moved independently, so 4 levels of magnification can be achieved. With the the two levers in the upper position, you can use your lens normally - focusing to infinity as normal without any vignetting. The Trio lens system is designed to be used with macro lenses such as the Canon 100mm or Nikon 105mm, even with some 150 or 180mm lenses, and it can also be used with 60mm macro lenses. Flipping the first lever adds a +5 diopter, second one adds a +10, and with the 2 levers in the lower position stacks the two groups of lenses and for a +15 diopter lens. The lens is attached to any 67mm threaded port. If your port doesn't have a 67mm thread, Saga Dive makes an adapter for any kind of port. Once it is attached, the lens can be moved to any place by rotating, so it can be rotated to any preferred position we prefer, for flexibility with lighting.
  2. Aloha All, I have a Macromate close-up lens that I will be putting on ebay unless anyone here wants it. I originally used it on the older Ikelite housing with the clear port for a Canon 100mm macro. It worked great. When I moved up to the new black ports I had to grind the “U” shape out of the extension to fit the part where the two pieces come together. You can see this in the photos. So this will work on the old clear port for the 100mm or the black glass port. The following is from Backscatters website about this product……. “Extreme Macro Get incredibly sharp 2:1 (twice life-size) macro images with the underwater removable MacroMate lens for underwater SLR housings. The MacroMate doubles your 100mm or 105mm image size by allowing you to get closer to the subject. Sealed Achromatic Glass Optics Custom achromatic lenses are sealed in a glass optical housing and provide extreme magnification with incredibly sharp edges. This unique design produces much tighter and sharper images than simple close-up lenses that are exposed to water. The air sealed chamber maximizes the optical properties of the close-up lens without distortion or soft edges. The MacroMate is designed for a snug fit on the lens and when not in use, the photographer can quickly flip the lens up and out of the way. This is just the Macromate close-up lens. The port is NOT included. Specifications Optics: Multi-coated acromatic lenses sealed in an optical glass housing Magnification: 2:1 (2x lifesize) Hardware: Custom machined delrin adapter with stainless fasteners Weight in Air: 1.55 lb / 24.8 oz (most designs) Weight in Fresh Water: 0.56 lb / 9 oz (most designs)” You can see more about this on the Backscatter website. They sell them for $599.00. The first person with $300.00 plus $15.00 shipping will get this one. Let me know if you have any questions. David Fleetham david@davidfleetham.com
  3. Hi all, I am looking for a close-up lens in the range from +5 to +10. Any lens with a 67mm mount may be of interest. Cheers, Lars
  4. As I have moved to a different port, I'm selling my Wetmate lens which was used with the Subal FP90 port. The lens is a push-on type so can be fitted or removed in-water and works really well with a Nikkor 60mm macro I'm asking £25/€30 which would include shipping in the EU. Great piece of equipment for playing around with macro!
  5. I'm sorting through boxes of bits and pieces and have found these two. Genuine Canon 500D close-up lenses in 72mm and 77mm, both very clean and boxed. New UK price is around £150ish new and I'm looking for around half this. So £75 each.
  6. Hello, I was tinkering with some spare photography gear and ended up with something useful I would like to share. I am sure those with aftermarket housing or special adapters can make this prettier and sturdier. This is just DIY, no frills. GoPro UW Close-up DIY Let me know what you think.
