Hi, I'm selling my well used 180˚ Nauticam straight viewfinder, this is for the full frame DSLR, as I've now changed to a 45˚ version. Fully working diopter adjustment, with minor paint loss and fading. I've photographed it from multiple angles so that you can judge for yourself. Please be aware that there is water staining on the viewing lens, but I find this does not affect its use or viewing experience at all. Included is the neoprene pouch, O ring and lens covers as shown. Shipping is from the UK, and is not included. Price is £650. Thanks for looking IMG_0959.HEIC IMG_0960.HEIC IMG_0961.HEIC IMG_0962.HEIC IMG_0964.HEIC

Hello fam, Thought I'd share my rig with you and get some advise on how to make this beast neutrally bouyant. I have ran out of options on how to get it as close to neutral as possible. I only used Stix floats and these were the results: Note they were weighed in freshwater (bathtub setup). Rig for Macro: -Subal ND700 , D700 with Nikkor 105VR 2.8 -Subal FP-FC105VR macro port with custom Stix float -2x YS-D2 with neoprene jackets -2x 8 inch ULCS arms with 3x jumbo stix floats on each arm -2x 5 inch ULCS arms with 1x jumbo stix floats on each arm -2x sync cables -7x clamps -L&M Sola 800 for focus -Macromate (By Backscatter) for supermacro Weight underwater: -1.06 lbs I'd like to get this to at least close to neutral however with 1.06 lbs to go, I don't have space to put on floats anymore. Or do I just do DIY rought and zip tie floats onto the arms? Without the Macromate I got it down to -0.67 lbs tho. Would this be already neutral in saltwater? Any suggestions would be appteciated. Thanks! Daniel

Im looking for advice of recommended white balance strategies for filming using video lights. Im primarily a photographer so have a good grasp of the theory there but obviously video is different (less light, no RAW etc). I currently have a V6K (12000 lumen) single video light and primarily testing wide angle subjects, diving in the tropics. What is the best option for getting a sensible white balance with this type of setup? I did experiment setting the colour temperature of my lights as a white balance but havent found the results there great - far too green and washed out. Is this simply because the light isnt powerful enough ? Im getting far better results on auto and the deeper i go, the better it is (i guess due to less ambient light getting in the way, again, is this just a lack of power)? Is there any merit in trying to take a manual white balance via a grey card or slate with the light on and using that? Last time i tried that i had some very odd colour shift and results so maybe its my technique? Im aware for wide angle i really need 2 lights for coverage and 12,000 isn't overly powerful which wont help but basically im looking for advice on the right technique to get a decent white balance on the video.

It's quite a few years that I take u/w pictures with an old, compact Canon G12 and I'd like to move up a bit to a more powerful setup. I need to get everything: camera, lens, housing + ports, strobes, anything else? What setup would you recommend to move from compact to dSLR?

Gently used Nauticam Housing for Nikon D800 Owned by professional photographer Mark Strickland For more information contact Mark at mark@markstrickland.com Or call 1-805-271-9798 Housing: Excellent condition. Slight cosmetic blemishes, but functions perfectly. I am super-careful about rinsing it immediately after surfacing, never allowing salt water to dry on the housing. As a result, all the controls work flawlessly--no sticky buttons! D800 Camera: Excellent condition, USA version, only 12,446 shutter actuations. Includes original box, software, strap, printed owners manual, LCD protector, Nikon battery and charger, Quick Pro D800 camera guide (DVD), and PhotoBert laminated “Cheat Sheet” for camera settings A few other points about the housing: 1. Includes a pair of ball mounts that attach to the dovetail plates on top of the handles. There’s also a dovetail plate on the bottom of the right handle, allowing switching one strobe arm to that position when shooting verticals, resulting in both arms forming a “Y” off the top (right) handle when shooting portrait mode. You certainly don't have to take this approach, but it’s a nice option that will be at your disposal. 2. Strobes can connect either via electronic sync cables (housing includes pre-installed 5-pin bulkhead for Nikon, PLUS a spare 5-pin bulkhead) or fiber optic cables; the housing is set up for both options. 3. Moisture alarm and Nauticam's optional vacuum-check system are included and installed. 4. Also included but not pictured: vacuum pump, spare 5 pin flash bulkhead, accessory pouch with printed user manual, hex keys, spare o-ring, Nauticam lubricant, sync port cap, original box Housing Only: $1725 Camera Only: $825 Housing and Camera Bundle: $2425 All prices include free ground shipping in the USA

I am a professional photographer selling my D800/Sea&Sea underwater setup because I recently upgraded to the D850. The setup has been amazing for the past few years and would be a great setup for anyone looking to shoot full frame underwater. It has never flooded and has been used mostly (>95% of the time) in Florida's freshwater springs. Although used, it has been treated with care. There are minor scratches on the dome that do not affect the photos. All you need to get underwater is a lens (I've used a Sigma 15mm fisheye or Nikon 16-35mm). Almost everything on my website was shot with this camera. What's included: D800 camera body + battery MDX800 housing with Nikonos bulkhead connector Dome Port 240 (including neoprene cover & rear port cover) 2 40mm extension rings 16-35mm zoom gear $3200 for everything. Ships from Florida, USA.

An age old question I suppose ... I've been shooting successfully on a Canon G12 in a Recsea housing for around 7 years (here's a gallery of my latest marine life portrait images, only 7 of which were not shot on the G12: https://pinktankscuba.com/2016/01/04/latest-images-gallery/) I write for a monthly scuba magazine and have had 4 covers shots to date out of my G12. My greatest joy in life is getting shots others don't get because my single-strobe compact rig is so tiny and versatile I never have to swim away from a shot. My housing is so old it needs to be replaced (alas it's obsolete) and I am keen to upgrade to a larger sensor for improved image quality. I recently scored a total bargain on a 2nd hand Canon 7D in Nautical housing, but even after replacing the insanely heavy Ikelite strobes with Sea and Sea YSD2, the rig is still impractically heavy (too much weight for travel, the fabulously functional housing is much larger than I am used to which prevents me from seeing my frequently small / macro subjects with my own eyes, etc.) After 7 years of versatility of shooting with great inbuilt telephoto, macro mode enhanced by flip diopters etc which are essential at the incredibly diverse dive sites I dive most days of the week (shooting nudis to smooth rays and everything in between on a single dive), I LOATHE choosing a lens pre-dive and want to go screaming back to compact. Ultimately in the all the trade-offs from trading up to the DSLR, I definitely feel I have lost more than I have gained. When the DSLR housing was recently away for servicing for 3 months, people who didn't know I'd gone back to the G12 kept telling me how much better my photos were now that I owned a DSLR (even though it wasn't responsible for the photos I was sharing online). Online and even in magazines, most people honestly can't pick the quality difference. I have listed my 7D rig for sale twice this week and removed it both times due to feeling so conflicted - the Canon world just feels so comfortable and honestly the housing is an absolute (albeit painfully bulky) dream to drive (today the doctor confirmed that I have pulled a tendon in my camera carrying hand that will likely take 'at least a year' to heal). In part I am clinging onto the 7D because I can't find a large sensor compact rig I would be happy to exchange it for. I LOVE the specs on the Canon G7X EXCEPT that the battery life is reportedly dodgy which is my absolute top criteria in a camera (my dives are typically 2-4 hrs each, and I typically run out of camera battery before I run out of my 12 litres of air ...). My second quality of life criteria is 'shoot everything and anything that comes my way' which demands a level of versatility that only a G12 can apparently deliver. I was almost ready to buy a Sony RX100 Mark IV (better battery life than Mark V) but the colours on the Sony leave me craving Canon (for all the hype, I'm unable to find any uw images online that I love shot with this camera) and other things I've read in reviews have left me 2nd guessing whether it would be a good fit for me. Honestly, give me a bigger sensor on my G12 and a good quality new or second hand housing for it with an 0-ring thicker than the pathetic elastic hair tie equivalent in the housing I already have and I would be happy for the rest of my life ... or someway to double the battery life on the G7X ... So no matter what I do there's an epic trade-off. And even though I've literally stretch a tendon in my hand due to the weight of the 7D, I've been stuck trying to make this decision and getting dizzy from the endless 360s on To Sell or Not to Sell; To Buy or Not To Buy .... You may not be able to offer any new perspectives I haven't already thrashed through with my rapidly tiring sounding boards, but I'll take a shot and put it out there (just please don't tell me to 'man up' - I will never be a man and have no desire to ever become one ...) Has anyone here got any suggestions or advice for me? How did you navigate your transition from compact to DSLR and possibly back again or in reverse? What would you do if you were me? Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might like to throw into the mix ....

Canon T3i Package- The only thing missing is strobes and arms if you need them! This is a great system if you are looking to get into underwater DSLR photography. I have taken this down to 120ft and it has never flooded. Always soaked gear after each dive. This system is also very travel friendly as it is smaller in size than a full frame housing and breaks down easily. I have 100% positive feedback on Ebay.
