Even with a fish eye lense a snoot can be helpful to lighten up a colourful object on the foreground without disturbing the natural lighting of the background. In this indoor test I used a self made 15 cm long snoot with a front opening of 5 cm made of plastic piping. The snoot was placed on an Ikelite DS 125 strobe set at the lowest intensity. Pictures were taken with the Olympus EPL5 and the Panasonic 8mm fish eye. Single strobe at the left upper corner at a 40 cm distance, ISO 250, shutter speed 1/125, @ f5.6. The three pictures below show the shots without and with strobe, and the snoot on the strobe respectively. Notice that the lighting of the underexposed background is not affected by the snooted strobe. Meaning that this might also work in UW settings like caverns, when you want to add some extra colour like the branche of a sea fan or so, without spoiling the nice natural lighting of the interior.

The acrylic on the dome is in great condition; the aluminum has minor cosmetic blemishes. Comes with neoprene dome cover and O-ring. The Lens and Fisheye adapter are in very similar condition. Minor wear on body but glass in great shape. This combination gives 15mm equiv. on a APSC NEX 3-7 or a3000-6000. The housing is in excellent condition. Has never seen salt. Used in trout rivers half a dozen times. One of the two bulkheads has been converted for HDMI. Sold my 5D MKII housing to Ron Micjan, who had posted a wanted classified here a while back. All equipment was purchased through Russ at Backscatter. There are a couple very faint scratches on the viewfinder and nicks in the finish on the bottom, but it looks brand new otherwise. Shooting glass fish is the most frustrating! I shoot with 2 Inon Z240 type 4 strobes and Nikkor 10.5mm FE. Too much overexposure on the scales of some fish but underexposure on the other fish. Should I turn on just 1 strobe and try to illuminate all fish? Any ideas to improve my pictures? If you were me, how would you setup aperture/strobe power/strobe position?
