  1. Hi i have bought my first water housing and its a vintage one. Its a aquatic 4n for the nikon f4 and it has only got a flat port. However i want to use my 21 mm carl zeiss lens but then i guess i need a 8 inch dome (It that what is reccomended?) I have looked onlig but they are so expencive. And i don't want to buy the wrong one. Since its an old type is there some adapters or does the new aquatic domes work for the old camera housings as well, I hope i made myself clear and i hope there was not to many questions here. But its so hard to find answers when there is so little information about this online. Kind regards -Frederik Wik
  2. Need help please! I am about to start with underwater photography, looking to buy the Nauticam housing for the D750 and learning all that I can before I buy anything and get into the water with it. Given the big investment, I am aiming to soften the blow by using my existing Nikkor 20mm 2.8D to start with and eventually upgrade to a Sigma 15mm (I am also leaving macro port on hold for a bit). I know the Sigma 15mm will work with an 8.5" dome, but since the Nikkor 20mm isn't one of the officially supported lenses by Nauticam housings, I haven't found any information of the 20mm working with this same port. I wanted to hear from people that have tested it out and to hear what they thought about it, if the images coming out are decent enough and know if a diopter is needed (if so, which one). Any help and feedback will be greatly appreciated. So far dealers are sharing their "gut feelings" and it isn't overly convincing. Thanks!!
  3. Hello everyone I am looking to progress into underwater photography with my DSLR camera. I live in Cozumel Island, here we have giant reef structures and 100 ft. plus visibility. This are perfect conditions for underwater photography and filming. I actually have a Canon T3I or 600D camera and a pair of gopro's. I would like to hear any recommendations or tips in order to buy my equipment. Should I stay with this camera? Which housing is good for me? Where can I buy it? New or used? I've done some research and this camera is pretty good for beginners, I am really interested in buying a housing for less than 200 ft. depths but they seem to be very expensive. I am and student so my budget is kind of restricted. Also I will be glad to contact or provide any recommendations to anyone who is coming to the Yucatan Peninsula. Thanks
  4. Hello Wetpix-Members, i wonder if anyone of you could help me. I am based in the North West of England (near Manchester) and have organisied an underwater shoot in my pool with models etc. As i have just bought my new Nikon 5D and an aquatech housing (as i don't use this camera for diving) I completely forgot to think about that my sealife lights won't work on it. Now with the bankholiday coming up I am a bit in a pickle. I need to buy or rent a housing for my SB900 or find someone who could rent me 2 strobes for the aquatech housing with the proper cabelling etc. PLEASE HELP!!! You can see some of my work under www.eroticmeetsart.com - porfolios- underwater thanks in advance, Patricia
  5. I am incredibly new to underwater photography, and would like any help I can get. Unfortunately it won't let me upload due to file size, but email me at nekolonay@gmail.com and I can send some. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  6. Hi all, I have been looking to put a camera on my boat so that I can see into the water on one off the lakes I go on as I would like to see the bottom at about 6ft deep, could anyone advise on a camera that would be able to see into the water in the day or night. The camera will be fitted to the side on the boat and be powered by two 6v battery so powering it is not a problem. I will be using a wireless transmitter and reciever back to a video screen to view it all. Would appreciate any help you could give me.
  7. Hey there, so I'm dying to get a new bcd especially for uw photography. Of course I've googled and researched "best BCD for underwater photography" and the simple answer is simple: it comes down to personal preference. My question to the more experienced divers, does a harness style bcd work better when shooting underwater? Is there better manueverablility? I believe Zeagle makes a few bed's with a harness. And Zeagle are pretty damn tough too.. Also Diverite is supposedly good.. Ive had my eye on an Apex black ice http://www.scubadiving.com.au/apeks-black-ice-scuba-diving-bcd However, the black ice doesnt have a cumberbun. Is this a big deal? Then there's also no harness.. Which is another worry... But i do love it as it has plenty of d rings that look tough enough to support my nauticam setup. Also, I'm serious about diving, so Should I consider Environmentally sealed regs? If so what do u prefer? I'm willing to pay good money for great quality when it comes to a bcd and regs. Moneys not an issue to me. It just means Im eating more from the bin. Haha Thanks for your help guys. I appreciate any thoughts and advice. I've seemed to be pulling my hair out and frustrated with so many questions...
  8. Hi, I just wanted to ask people on their thoughts between two camera systems as I am undecided (and struggling) on what to pick! The first set up is a RX100 II, with recsea housing, YS-D1, UWL-04 Fisheye Lens, bluewater +7 macro lens. The second is a XZ-2, Olympus housing, Z240, Inon wide angle and dome port. (maybe an Inon macro lens as well). If it helps my main subjects will be sharks as I am going to a shark research station. I will use the camera mostly on boats and snorkeling on the surface, freediving with the camera and the occasional dive. I do also enjoy macro photography and that's why I've included the macro lenses. Also I wanted to ask if anyone can recommend any insurance company's as I will be away for just under 5 months and want to cover any camera gear, my laptop, etc.

  10. Hello, I was wondering if anyone might be able to advise me on my little hiccup today... I forgot to put the strobe cap on the housing, for where the cord screws onto the housing body of my Ikelite 7D setup. I only noticed I had not put the cap on at 20m Are there any methods for ensuring the port is completely clean and salt free? I would be so upset if the strobe port contacts corroded from my error. Thanks, Alex. The port I am talking about looks like the one of the left (on the housing).
