Hello all, Apologies in advance for this being a bit of an 'open' request and not very specific but due to my current location I have come to realise that trying to find most things diving related are either difficult or ridiculously priced hence the lack of specifics. In short I am looking to see if there are any full sets for sale in Indonesia. Most likely looking at mirrorless APS-C or Micro Four Thirds but as stated before things aren't always easy to come by out here so feel free to try me. I have made the decision to stay away from compact as I will be using the camera on land as well and I just don't really get on with compact cameras having set with DSLRs for years and now have moved to mirrorless (Fujifilm X-T3). Have you been dreaming of Raja Ampat recently? Me too.So, I created a video DREAMING OF RAJA AMPAT to share our memories and dreams about the breathtaking Raja Ampat. In this video, I used footage from our two most recent trips to Raja Ampat. Both times we stayed at Sorido Bay Resort (Dampier Strait), which is our favorite dive resort. If you are interested in more technical details, please keep reading below. On the first trip I used a Sony A7Rii camera, Ikelite housing and Keldan Video lights 8X 11,000 Lumen CRI 92 (5400K). Sony A7Rii had some problems with autofocus and did not allow to set WB manually. On the second trip I used the following equipment: Camera: Sony camcorder HXR-NX80 Housing: Gates AX700 / Z90 with Gates GP34A Wide Angle Port and internal UR Pro Red Filter Diopters: SAGA +5 Diopter Achromatic Close-Up Macro Lens, and SAGA +10 Diopter Achromatic Close-Up Macro Lens Video Lights: Keldan Video 8X 11,000 Lumen CRI 92 (5400K) with Keldan Ambient Filter M1 (10-20m) for 4X/8X Camera Settings: 4K, 30 FPS, Picture Profile: BT709, and on several dives - HLG picture profile. For camera settings, I used recommendations from the following article : AX700-Z90-Housing-Recommended-Settings-R2.pdf HDR clips were converted to Rec.709 color space using the following two methods: 1 - FCPX HDR Tool HDR to Rec.709 SDR, 2 - Leeming Camera LUT Pro Sony A - HLG to Rec.709. For reasons I could not explain, FCPX HDR Tool worked better for some clips and Leeming Camera Lut worked better for other clips. Juan Miguel Núñez Arellano provided me invaluable guidance and mentoring in shooting and grading HLG footage. I am happy to share my latest video-interview with Max Ammer, the pioneer of diving in Raja Ampat, West Papua in Indonesia. About 30 years ago, Max came to Raja Ampat in a search of World War II relics. This is a story about how Max built the very first dive resort in Raja Ampat - Kri Eco Resort, and later - Sorido Bay Resort, about conservation efforts of Max and his partners, training local people and building the very first electrical boat in Raja Ampat. Stopped in Ambon last October for a few days of diving after a LOB trip in the. Banda Sea. If you haven't dived Ambon it's well worth the stop as the macro life is wonderful and abundant. This was my second time visiting and diving with Critterjunkies. Here's the video of the underwater experience. Comments and critiques welcomed.

I recently went to Lembeh Straits. This trip I decided to try my hand at videoing instead of photographing. I purchased a tripod and got some advice on how to shoot macro. This is my first go around with UW videography through the DSLR. This footage was shot with a Canon 5DMIV. Here is a link to my video:

In this video, I was trying to capture a beauty and abundance of marine life in Raja Ampat during our 9-day stay at Misool Eco Resort. My camera is Sony A7Rii with a 28mm and 28mm+fisheye lens. I used two Keldan Video 8X lights (11000 lm, 92 CRI), which are fantastic video lights. Thank you very much.

If you have not yet dived (dove?) at Komodo, you should really give it a shot; flying to Bali is quite cheap from many places now, then another quick flight to Labuan Bajo. The best months are April through August, once November hits the currents change, and can be so strong that visibility is quite limited. The north of the park tends to have the best sealife, which is generally avoided from November through February when dive shops go south. Go see the mantas, check off that bucket list item.

Raja Ampat season is coming to an end, so here is a short film celebrating some of the things that make it such an amazing place. The visibility may at times be challenging, but the scenery and wildlife is truly spectacular both above and below the waves. Altogether, I spent 7 trips in Raja Ampat aboard the Blue Manta liveaboard in 2017/2018. It's incredibly hard to try to condense that into 3 minutes, so my initial version was 6 minutes long. Whale Sharks Of Cenderawasih Bay, Papua

My husband and I have spent the last few years doing filming projects in Indonesia and spent a fair bit of time in Cenderawasih Bay, Papua. It seems like more and more people are headed to the area to dive/swim with the whale sharks but we have noticed that it is a nightmare to find good information online about Nabire and getting out to the whale sharks. We wrote up this guide on our blog to hopefully help others navigate Nabire (always an adventure!). It is an amazing place to spend time with whale sharks. Best of luck to any one headed there! Back in September I concluded a liveaboard tip to the Banda Sea with a stop over in Ambon before flying home. I got in 12 dives in 3 days with Critterjunkies by divebluemotion. The dive shop is pretty basic and located on the shores of Laha. And, like most parts of Indonesia, sanitation is not at levels we experience in the west. So, the rocky beach was covered in plastic as well areas beneath the water. However, many magical creatures make this area home. The water was warm enough for comfort in a 5mm wetsuit for long muck dives and viz varied from 30-50 feet, although on the last day, after a harsh rain, viz deteriorated to 2-3 feet! The top of the critter list was the psychedelic frogfish (PFF) and I didn't expect to actually see one. But, our guide had found one several days earlier and we got to see one on the second dive! There is competition amongst the dive guides and operators to find PFFs so when went to look for the PFF, our guide had one diver visit with the PFF while the others were off at a distance so other guides or boats couldn't figure out the location. It was like a secret mission. However, the PFF was in shallow water and the surge and particulate made for really difficult shooting conditions. Here's a video of what I encountered in 12 dives. We have a last minute availability of a space in a Budget cabin on the Mermaid 1 liveaboard for a trip to Komodo! This is with a male so it's best that the space would go to another male. The dates for this trip are 1 - 10 June 2018, in other words in around 3 weeks time from now. The Mermaid 1 is the flagship vessel of the Mermaid fleet, this 9 night trip will depart and return to Bali. Therefore, there are no domestic flights needed. All of the best spots in Komodo will be visited on this trip with amazing black sand sites in Sangeang, Manta Alley, Horseshoe Bay, and Castle Rock all on the itinerary. I just finished going through the majority of my pictures from my wonderful trip to Lembeh this summer. I stayed at Critters at Lembeh Resort. What a wonderful resort and awesome guides. Hi Have any of you good people dived at Weda Halmahera in Indonesia? I consider a trip in February with the first stop in Lembeh, and after some days in Lembeh travel on to Weda, but how is the diving there? On the dive center webpage is says that diving is great, but the very few videos and pictures I have found from the area shows another picture, with damage corals and not that many fish or other stuff. So I will really appreciate, if some of you that have visited the area or heard about it other ways, can tell me if it´s a good plan to go out there – or maybe if you have other ideas as an alternative to Weda – offcourse beside Bunaken J Regards Bent

My new video of small critters from the Lembeh Strait and Anilao. Filmed with a Panasonic GH4 in a Nauticam NA-GH4 housing with either 2 x Keldan Luna 4X lights or 2 x FIX Neo 1000 DX SW II lights. I used an Olympus M.Zuiko ED 12-50mm f3.5-6.3 EZ lens and a Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. On some shots I used a Nauticam Compact Macro Converter CMC-1. Xit404 tripod. The UHD footage was downsampled to 1920x1080, allowing me to crop and zoom. Only the wonderpus shot was stabilized. All feedback is welcome. Particularly, are there any weak shots, or uncomfortable edits? I may submit a refined version to a festival or two.- 9 replies

Hello kind Wet Pixelers. Has anyone done any diving in Borneo? If so, do you have any recommendations for diving locations? I am interested in animals large and small (I am travelling with a 15 mm and 60 mm macro lens) but am travelling on a budget. I am travelling for 5 weeks and am mainly planning to be on the malaysian part of Borneo but will venture to Indonesia if there is worth while diving! Many thanks, Matt

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my most recent short film. This time focusing on the magical world of Bali Indonesia.
