  1. Does anyone have any experience with purchasing insurance against flooding (and other perils)? When I upgraded this past year (2018) to a more expensive camera system, I purchased insurance from H2OInsurance.com. Their policy seems to cover a number of perils, including flooding of the housing. Since the camera was very expensive, I thought this might be worth the cost. By the way, I checked and my homeowners would NOT cover the cost of the camera if the housing flooded. Any thoughts out there?
  2. Hello, I am the owner of a Sony A6300 and I'm planning to purchase a Fantasea housing! I am seriously considering purchasing a homeowner's insurance since this is my first rig. What companies and plans should I be looking at? Cheers! Thanks for the help! -Natasha
  3. Hi, I just wanted to ask people on their thoughts between two camera systems as I am undecided (and struggling) on what to pick! The first set up is a RX100 II, with recsea housing, YS-D1, UWL-04 Fisheye Lens, bluewater +7 macro lens. The second is a XZ-2, Olympus housing, Z240, Inon wide angle and dome port. (maybe an Inon macro lens as well). If it helps my main subjects will be sharks as I am going to a shark research station. I will use the camera mostly on boats and snorkeling on the surface, freediving with the camera and the occasional dive. I do also enjoy macro photography and that's why I've included the macro lenses. Also I wanted to ask if anyone can recommend any insurance company's as I will be away for just under 5 months and want to cover any camera gear, my laptop, etc.
  4. Hello, I`m new to Wetpixel and would like to know what is the best way to ship my underwater photography kit from Canada. I`ve never really sold anything online before. I have a complete underwater set up in the classifieds and would like to know how to ship it to wherever. Also, what is the best way to receive payment? What does everybody here at Wetpixel do? What about Insurance? What is the protocol to protect both the buyer and seller? Thank you, Paul from Montreal

  6. I know cross posting from other forums is not the best but I think folks here would benefit regarding these details about DEPP: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/scuba-related-court-cases/457121-state-kentucky-has-filed-against-depp-divers-equipment-protection-policy.html#post6818873 Unfortunately, I do not have an actual source of the information but feel what is linked is credible.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm about to start underwater fashion photography and wonder if anyone can recommend a liability insurance policy? I'd also like to insure my new ikelite gear, so any tips there would be great too. Cheers. Alexis
  8. As some of you may know I have been trying to get paid out from my claim with AWRY (DEPP) for almost 10 months now with no luck. I have since filed a complaint with the Kentucky Department of Insurance - Consumer Protection Division. They have referred it to the Insurance Fraud Investigation Division and it is currently being evaluated to determine if a criminal investigation will be opened. I am urging anyone with an outstanding claim with AWRY to please forward your complaint to the Fraud Unit. I am hoping that the more info and complaints they have the more likely they will be to open an investigation. File Number 2012J01784 c/o L.
