Hi everyone, I'd love to share some photos taken during my first year of underwater photography, with my TG6 and Backscatter MF-1 strobe. These photos were all taken at various shore divesites in Victoria, Australia, from September - November 2022. It's primarily macro since my current setup isn't conducive for wide angle. I've sinced moved to Vancouver, Canada, and will hopefully be doing plenty of diving here soon as well! However, I'm also looking forward to diving again in Australia in the near future! Eventually I would like to experiment more with wide angle, and also potentially upgrade to a MFT system which will help me get the increased image quality & manual control I am craving, while keeping a more compact size. Any critique and feedback is welcome, I'm here to learn!

Hi, I've been diving and photographing for a few years now. I am mostly interested in macro, and usually travel to remote places for that, many times backpacking for a month. On occasions I travel carry on with the complete diving plus photo gear in a small backpack -fins on hand! I started photographing with an old canon A520. Then moved for a short period to a used RX100 with an intova minute PX21 strobe in a 3D printed arm, plus a couple of wet lenses. I was quite happy with photo quality, but the intova flash was very unreliable -and soon stopped working at all. Also ergonomics were awful when shooting manual. Not wanting to increase my travel weight, I discarded purchasing a bigger strobe... Then I switched to a used TG4 in an Oly housing, and I have been shooting with it for 5 years now. I mostly shoot with the built-in flash, and sometimes use a hand held torch. I am basically happy with the results, and it is a fun setup if you are going for macro. However, I always feel that the image quality is a little deficient: the sensor is noisy and, when comparing back-to-back, image quality of the rx100 (with the intova strobe) was much better. I have considered adding a strobe to the TG4, but I don't think I will be improving the photos a lot. Also my focusing distance is so ridiculously small (see the hairy shrimp below) that clumsy lights will not fit. And there is the lack of manual control on the TG4, which may be fatal when adding additional light sources -or can be boring since there are not many things to play with. I recently purchased a SF-L01 that I hope may double as night light and LED strobe. But I doubt this is the way to go. So the question is... What should I do? - add a strobe plus snoot for a having something new to play with the TG4? - but if I had a strobe, I could go back to the rx100... - or perhaps going for a new toy, compact or not: once I start to add strobes, travel friendliness is a ghost from the past... so I could try to get the best setup for my macro subjects. - just keep my TG4 and enjoy what I do. Any advice on this? Below a few sample images from recent travels (jpg edited in the android phone -i shoot raw but never find the time for editing)

A steal at $120 + shipping! Original price $195.00 U.S. Great for those wanting to hone their macro skills. This snoot focuses the light from the strobe to focus on and highlight your subject, thereby masking out backgrounds. It is built from machined marine grade aluminum making it robust and durable. It comes with a diffuser and the snoot sections are removable to increase or decrease the beam of light. Two elastic lanyards attach both the strobe and the diffuser to your strobe mount. It has only been on 4 dives- I'm not going to get serious on macro after all as it is too rough where I live. This newest version of the 10bar snoot includes the laser aiming light, which is now located internally. This ensures that it is always centered, making it much easier to use. In addition, the snoot has now more segments and even a pointer end. See description below. Compatible Strobes: Sea & Sea YS-D1 & Sea & Sea YS-D1, D2, & D2J Inon Z-240 & Inon Z-330 Description: Red Laser Beam is Adjustable for Precise Aiming Laser will Shut Off Automatically when Flash is Fired Front Sections of Snoot Removable to Adjust for Light Source Size on Subject Laser Unit Powered by 3 x LR44 Button Cell (not included!) Rated to 90m / 300ft (Recommended working pressure 60m / 200 ft) Weight: 1.50 LBS Dimensions: 6.00 (in) × 6.00 (in) × 8.00 (in IMG_4615.HEIC IMG_4616.HEIC IMG_4617.HEIC IMG_4618.HEIC

I’ve been testing the Sigma 105 f2.8 and Sony 90 f2.8 with my Sony A7iv and find that both lenses have a hard time to focus when shooting at f14 - f22. It usually in day light with a focus light from my snoot or video light but the camera still struggles. any tips on how to improve auto focus with smaller apertures?

I own a Nikon D500 with a Hugyfot housing. I currently use only the Tokina fisheye with it underwater, but I want to also shoot some Macro with the Nikon 40mm f2.8 DX lens. Unfortunately, Hugyfot has a bit of an incomplete port chart and this is one of the lenses missing. This lens is a bit smaller (5mm shorter and thinner) than the Canon EF-S60mm f2.8 for which they advice a FLP L70 flat port, but unlike the Canon lens, the Nikon lens extends when close focusing (by 2cm) Does anyone have experience using this lens on a Hugyfot house and can you tell me what port used. In general, what is the optimal distance between the front element of the lens and the glass of the flat port? As close as possible or is there some gain in having a bit more space?

Bought new in 2016 and used for one overseas trip to Indonesia diving Bali and Lembeh. It is a complete multi lens package, wide zoom and macro with monitor, tripod, strobes, focus light, zoom gears, batteries, chargers, everything needed in one flight case. Everything is in excellent condition as you would expect from such little use. Accessible seals removed while in storage, full set of unused spares provided. The camera has had additional use, it has a shutter count of 17,084 (from a quick search online the camera has an expectancy of 200,000 actuations). In order to provide full transparency - the HDMI cable to the external monitor was damaged by a boat handler during the trip, the cable works but occasionally loses signal with the external monitor, never enough to cause me a problem and it can be replaced for around £300. No leaks, always dry inside. Built up and tested for sale and photographs, everything seals and operates perfectly. Original packaging. Way more photos than you'll ever need here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2UBafrkMEaM7hi9j6 Open to offers and discussion but selling as a complete kit as I'm not willing to separate. Hi, since around 5 years I'm using Olympus omd 1 mii with the 60 mm macro in an Isotta housing, with several diopters, flash trigger (I have about 500 dives with this camera) .... Now I'm ready for the next step. My focus is almost exclusively macro, really small stuff. I am undecided about the system. Which sensor and with which lens, which diopter ...? The budget for the camera I would limit to about 3000 Euros. What do you think? (please excuse my English, I'm no native speaker)
