  1. My YSD2 did the usual blinking lights deal and went overseas for 3 months for repair. Was working great until this week when it now ONLY fires at full strength. Dialling the power down does nothing. Do I need to banish it to another country again for repairs or is this something I can fix easily? Frustrated by seemingly endless reliability issues ... please help! I should add, I've swapped out the batteries and fibre optic cable to no effect. And I'm having the same issue across 2 different cameras and housings.
  2. I've always been a stills shooter underwater, but when I won a video light in a photo competition recently I thought what the heck, I'd make an attempt at shooting some video for a change. First thing I notice when I get the footage on my computer screen is that I seem to have some stuck pixels, particularly a decent-sized red spot near the middle of the frame. I guess these have always been mapped out with my images in Lightroom, so I never really knew they were there. Help! What can I do? It's awful, and completely ruins the video. I am shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II. It's a camera I've had for years (well out of warranty). Thank you Wetpixelites!
  3. Relatively time critical question... I'm currently in Lembeh for a few days with the camera but the TTL controller on my housing is playing up, buttons electrically (not physically) stuck causing mode and power changes i cant override with the strobe (DS161s) dial themselves. The last time it was stuck on the default TTL mode and i couldn't hold both buttons in to turn to manual. I never ever use TTL so this was a pain and causing very inconsistent shots. So, can anyone tell me what pins to mask on the hot shoe OR as a last plan, what wire to cut so the thing just fires bypassing the controller? This should then allow me to use the dial on the strobe to adjust power.
  4. Just took my Ikelite D7000 rig on its first salt water trip today. After a few minutes into the dive, the back camera buttons would not function, even though the camera was able to take a photo. I could get Live View to come on but the "INFO" and [ | > ] buttons would not respond to pushing. It worked fine in the pool a week ago. As soon as I released the vacuum (underwater camera stuff vacuum) and took the camera out of the housing, the buttons were functional again. Any reason this could have been an issue or has anyone experienced the same thing?
  5. I have an Inon Z240 strobe that has worked flawlessly since 2008... until recently. I shoot with the strobe in Manual mode, and I noticed it was doing a very weak fire. I took some test shots at home. The strobe does not seem to be working properly in Auto, M and Full modes. It does a very weak fire. Moving the output controller knob made absolutely no difference to the light output. The strobe does seem to be firing correctly in STTL and STTL Low modes. Moving the output controller knob does adjust the light output when fired. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on, or encountered anything like this before? There is no sign of water ingress into the unit. Many thanks!
  6. Hi, I just got a Olympus OM-D E-M5 with a Nauticam housing, Panasonic 8mm fisheye, Olympus 60mm macro lens. Firmware body 1.6. My buttons/settings are configured same as: http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48625 I've only dived with this setup about 10 times and 2 times my camera stopped working underwater. I shoot in Manual Mode. When the camera stops working, it doesn't respond to any button pushes except the LV button (changes from EVF to Monitor). Main dial and Sub-dial still changes Aperture and Shutter. Shutter release does nothing and I can't even turn off the camera. Camera EVF/Monitor stays on until camera runs out of battery; it doesn't fall asleep. Camera displays live image. The flash (lightning bolt) and focus confirmation (green dot) icons in the EVF/Monitor are stuck on. When I remove the battery and put it back in the camera works again. Anyone else have this problem? No floods or leaks and my depth was around 30m deep. I notice this happening usually when I focus then try to take a picture. This problem has happened using both the Panasonic 8mm fisheye and Olympus 60mm macro lenses. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?
