  6. HI, I'm looking to buy a used Nauticam or Recsea housing for RX100. It would be great if it came with a wide angle lens. Regards, Ahmad
  7. I am selling my underwater photo equipment based on a Sony RX100 with a lot of accessories. The equipment is in a good condition and works without problems. I have used this equipment to take many great photos and - almost more importantly - superb videos. Since our second child will be born soon I will not be on diving holidays for some time and would therefore like to sell my equipment. It would be a pity having it just lying around. The exceptional thing about the equipment is the possibility to change lenses under water (called “wet lenses”). During a dive you can use the standard „flat“ port of the housing but still be able to change to macro or fish eye on the fly. This is ideal for holiday divers like myself since one usually does not do many specialized dives where one knows what kind of photos to expect in advance. Thanks to the strobe and the video light this set is perfectly suited for photos as well as videos. The Sony RX100 records videos with 1080p50 which means 50 full frames per second – thereby generating exceptionally nice and natural video images. Included is the following (I have also inserted the approximate current price for new equipment as a reference): Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 black (EUR 340,-) with second battery and external charger (EUR 55,-) Recsea Sony RX100 underwater housing (EUR 760,-) Video light: F.I.T. Pro Series LED 6500 Super Nova Video Light (EUR 990,-) Strobe: Sea & Sea YS-D1 Strobe (EUR 700,-) + fiber optic cable for triggering (EUR 40,-) UWL-04 Fisheye Lens (EUR 425,-) 2x Dyron +7 Diopter Macro Lens 77mm (each EUR 150,-) Tray with 2 handles (EUR 100,-) Nauticam double Lens Holder (EUR 100,-) 2x Triple Clamps, 4x Double Clamps (EUR 100,-) several necessary adapters (EUR 150,-) necessary buoyancy devices (ca. EUR 80,-) 2x double ball arms (EUR 60,-) Cetacea Quick-Release Cloth Coil Lanyard (EUR 30,-) Mounting possibility for separate (2nd) lamp (EUR 30,-) Replacement tray with 1 handle (EUR 40,-) The current price if buying this equipment new would thus be EUR 4.300,- Selling price : EUR 2.500,- I am based in Austria, Vienna and it is possible to inspect the equipment if you live close enough. Since I am selling this used equipment as a private seller I cannot give warranty of any kind.
  8. upgrading I first used this system in July 2016 and it has about 30 dives with a couple of minor scuffs on the back of both the housing panel camera lcd , not noticeable when turned on , but other than that is in excellent shape. I'll post some photos shortly This transaction would work best inside the PH . I will however make my way to the USA in the late spring sometime and could also request an DHL/FED Ex quote for shipping located in Cebu City $900 dollars or Philippine Peso equivalent for reference here is who we are Sony RX11 Recsea Housing UWL-04 Fisheye Ultra Light tray and handles 2 batteries , one charger , external camera case https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/19653124 photos available
  9. hi all, looking for a little advice from the experts.... i have always been a keen macro shooter but would like to try a bit of wide angle reefscape stuff without breaking the bank. as a dive instructor ive always had a pretty tight budget (!) but have managed results im very proud of with very simple canon g series set ups using a couple of DIY solutions for magnification and lighting. now i want to put together a new system and im very tempted to go for the g7x... the new sensor is bigger than some of the recent budget dslr's and reviews generally seem to be pretty good regarding image quality and focus speed etc. im confident that if i include a subsee or other type of magnification that the macro will be as good as, or better than, previous g series cameras but what im interested in is trying my hand at some wide angle stuff without having to spend dslr amounts of money... here is the kind of set up i was thinking of... canon G7 X recsea cwc-g7x housing (cheaper but still has the 67mm threaded port for external lenses) 1 or 2 x sea and sea ys-d1 strobes (might seem extravagant for the set up but seems sensible for future proofing) subsee +10 or similar inon uwl-100 or similar wide angle wet lens possible dome unit for wide angle lens (how necessary is this??) i would welcome any advice regarding this set up particularly where the wide angle capability is concerned. does anyone see any obvious problems with the set up before i financially cripple myself? all help would be greatly appreciated.... thanks, nick

  13. Hi everybody. I am a snorkeler, and later this year I will be snorkeling for about five hours a day for a week while in Indonesia. I recently purchased a Sony RX100 II, and I am now trying to make a final decision re which $500 or less housing to buy. I saw some earlier posts on this forum re the RX100 II, but none of them addressed my question. I had decided to go with the Ikelite, but then read some negative reviews regarding the functionality of the a few of the buttons and/or regarding the difficulty in using the locking mechanism (the most negative reviewer stated his is a very experienced diver/photographer). As some other folks gave the Ikelite favorable, reviews, it appears that there may be some significant variance from housing to housing. I also saw that, toward the end of last year, Recsea introduced its polycarbonate housing for the RX100 II. Because that housing is relatively new, I have not found any extensive reviews regarding the Recsea housing. I do understand from a Blue Water video that this Recsea housing cannot control the Sony rear control wheel, and it has a very different locking mechanism. Although Recsea generally has had favorable reviews for its aluminum housings, I am a bit concerned about trying a somewhat newly engineered product. There has been no real opportunity for Recsea to determine if there are any glitches that need fixing. If any of you have had experience with the Recsea polycarbonate housing for the the RX100 II, please let me know your views re that housing. Also, if any of you have used the Ikelite housing for the RX100 II, please let me know your evaluation of that housing. Thanks. Ralph
  14. I had the opportunity to test out the new RECSEA Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Housing earlier this year in the Philippines. I've copied the writeup from the vimeo page below. Welcome to answer any questions. First time posting a video here, let alone alone of underwater footage, so go easy on me. Earlier this year, I flew to the Philippines and joined A.J Saito from RECSEA to test out their new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Housing. The Philippines is home to some of the best diving in the world, and I was happy to be returning for my third visit. I've been shooting underwater with a RECSEA S95 housing for several years and absolutely love it. But ever since the BMPCC was released, I've dreamt of shooting underwater with a higher quality yet compact underwater camera setup. During my two week trip, I had the opportunity dive in the spectacular waters of Anilao, Puerto Galera, and Dumaguete. I had a large array of lenses and ports available for my setup along with several of RECSEA's Mini 1000lm LED lights; most of the footage consists of Panasonic 45mm 2.8 Macro, Olympus 9-18mm 4-5.6, and Panasonic 8mm 3.5 Fisheye. Other lens were tested but not included in this video. My first destination in the Philippines was Anilao, where I stayed and dived for four days with the fantastic crew at the Aiyanar Resort. This was my first time diving in Anilao and it definitely lived up to world-class reputation. I moved on from Anilao to what feels like a second home to me, Puerto Galera, where I earned my PADI Divermaster certification during two-month internship a couple years ago. Upon my arrival in Sabang, Puerto Galera, my good friend Ted Dunn arranged a trip to nearby Verde Island which is probably my favorite dive site of all-time. It's an advanced dive site with strong and varying currents, but it is absolutely rich with color, movement and underwater life. After a couple days of diving and catching up with my friends in Puerto Galera, I jumped on a flight to Dumaguete. This was my first time diving in this area, and Apo and Simulon Island did not disappoint. Technical tidbits: I updated the BMPCC to firmware 1.8.2 prior to this test. Firmware 1.9.3 was released just a few days after my trip which was too bad since that firmware release featured new functions which would of been a great benefit (histogram and time remaining!). This video comprises of footage shot in every type of scenario I could put the camera and housing through, so there variance between shots. I shot in ProresLT , ProresHQ and RAW (CinemaDNG) (highly recommended for color correction!). Usually a 64GB SD card would last at most for two dives, but if I was smart with my shooting, I could sometimes get three dives in. Battery life was superb with the additional 12v battery pack that is included. The extra four 18650 batteries would easily give me more than enough battery power to last 3-4 dives (my SD card would fill up before the batteries would die). After Anilao, I shot only with the Panasonic 8mm lens with no lighting so it was all 'wide' shooting from here on out. I was okay with this as I love shooting wide (but I do have a new fond love for the difficulty of shooting macro). I did NOT have a magic filter for my 8mm lens which I only found out about after my trip. This would be quite helpful with some of my color correction. I rarely pushed the camera above ISO800. The deeper shots (ie: with shark and on the wreck; 30m) are quite blue, but I just wanted to include these shots to show what the camera could capture. I know a majority of those out there prefer underwater footage to be shot at a nice crisp 30p/60p however I kept the camera on 23.976 for a majority of the time. My personal preference has always been to shoot at 23.976 as I prefer the more cinematic look of it. A few shots were done at 30fps and 29.97 then later slowed down respectively in post. I may release a short clip of just 30p footage which actually looks very good.
  15. Great little macro lens that has been used a handful of times. Much prefer wide angle photography and have only set up my underwater camera for macro once. Played around with this lens a few times at home and thats it, basically new. The port has a few scratches on the inside glass around the edge as shown in the photo. I stupidly stored the lens inside the port. Luckily the primary lens is quite small and is no where near the marks, therefore there is no way they can affect the photo. Port and focus ring will fit the Recsea housing for both the Panasonic GF1 and GF2. Port and focus ring alone cost over $450 Looking for $650 plus postage for the lot.
  16. Hi guys, I'm looking for a Nauticam or Recsea housing for a Sony NEX-5 or 5N, and also for a Sony RX100. If anyone has anything please get in touch! We are based in the Philippines, but have regular visitors from the US and the UK. Many thanks
  17. Hi, I just wanted to ask people on their thoughts between two camera systems as I am undecided (and struggling) on what to pick! The first set up is a RX100 II, with recsea housing, YS-D1, UWL-04 Fisheye Lens, bluewater +7 macro lens. The second is a XZ-2, Olympus housing, Z240, Inon wide angle and dome port. (maybe an Inon macro lens as well). If it helps my main subjects will be sharks as I am going to a shark research station. I will use the camera mostly on boats and snorkeling on the surface, freediving with the camera and the occasional dive. I do also enjoy macro photography and that's why I've included the macro lenses. Also I wanted to ask if anyone can recommend any insurance company's as I will be away for just under 5 months and want to cover any camera gear, my laptop, etc.

  19. I am currently using an Canon S100 in a recsea housing with adaptor for AD wet swaps. I have 2 x sea and sea strobes. I am using 2 x Inon 165AD macro lens. I just got back from Lembeh and the guide kept finding things that were too small for me using the two 165's. Is there any lens combination that I can use with the Recsea housing and my S100 that will let me full frame a critter that's say 5mm long? I have been offered a Olympus OM-D EM-1 Camera in a Nauticam housing that I know will solve the problem but I am otherwise happy with my present setup and a new lens or two or three will be a far cheaper option leaving more money for dive trips.
