  1. For sale is a used pair of Sea & Sea YS-D2J strobes. Includes the manuals, diffusers (100 and 120 degree), the ball mounts, and the YS mounts, as well as a few tubes of o-ring lube, an extra battery cap and o-ring for the battery cap. I bought these in 2018, and have dove with them ~150 times. Full disclosure: the battery compartment on one of them flooded about 2 years ago. I cleaned it out, replaced the battery cap and o-ring, and haven't had any issues with it since. New these go for $689.95, get the whole kit from me for $800, including shipping in the US.
  2. I bought two S&S D2Js on an early lockdown sale last year. Who knew it would take this long to get back into the water, and meanwhile they released the D3 and its continuous firing capability. Having just moved to an R5, that's appealing. My cost for the pair was $1031USD, which is $100-200 better than the usual sales for YS-Dx strobes. I'll sell the pair for $1000, shipping/insured included to US addresses, for international we'll need to talk. A single for $550, shipping/insured. They are new in box - I've not unwrapped anything yet. (We can do a video chat and unwrap or do any test fires/operation before shipping)
  3. I have 1 YS-D2 strobe for sale. It has few minor scratches from normal use. I am the first owner and have always kept my stuff well protected and maintained. I just received it back from Backscatter for a through examination and they found it to be in perfect working condition. I no longer need it. I also have a Sea and Sea Dual and Single Sync Cord for sale. I posted it in a different post. Original price: $600 Selling mine for: $360 Shipping from Hawaii.
  4. Anyone have experience, good or bad with these strobes Sea & Sea YS-D2j? There have been reports of bad products but they still seem to be popular strobes. So were the bad products the previous versions not made in Japan, and/or was it a case of just those with bad experiences were reporting them and that most users are satisfied?
  5. Is there a way to tell with certainty if a YS-D2 is made in Japan (is a so called YS-D2J with supposedly less issues than the alternative is said to have (no first hand experience)) indeed - or is not really a YS-D2J? By that I mean by looking at the actual unit, not by looking at accompanying printed matter. Asking because if I choose to go that route used or new, It would help to know how to tell the difference.
