Matetes 0 Posted October 28, 2005 Hi Two pictures and three RAW converters, Photoshop CS2, Nikon Capture and Raw Shooter Essentials 2005.... and different results. Just take a look.. ...where the first is with Photoshop CS2, _DSC2b596 is with Nikon Capture and _DSC 2c is with Raw Shooter .... and every one looks diferent than the others... More washed out with Photoshop, more contrast with Capture and more obscure with Shooter Could someone tell me why? BTW.- I put the pics as opened in every program and saved in jpg. with no manipulation whatsoever.

herbko 0 Posted October 29, 2005 Each raw converter has a different camera profile for your camera. Each camera brand/model records color in slightly different ways depending on the details of their color filters. The camera profile is the lookup table used to convert the numbers in the raw file to RGB values for the color profile you're using. For converters that let you load in different camera profiles, you can get very different results with the same converter and different profiles. Also, if you adjust gamma or use the curves tool, you can make big changes in the output
