critidoc 0 Posted October 30, 2005 my 80880 has 2 problems shutterlag and difficulty focusing on objects. when I aim the center focus area on an object, it sometimes moves to another object and won't lock focus on what I want it to. Any help here. it also has extremely long shutterlag, much longer than the 4040 that I used to shoot with. help please. B) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ehlersgrub 0 Posted November 10, 2005 I have an 8080 and it does the same thing. It really has a hard time focusing on infinity. It will focus at half the distance. The shutterlag is horrible. Even with manual everything. I also made sure I had the latest firmware. I called Olympus and after some beating around the bush on their part they finally admitted that this was just the way it was with the 8080. I still takes great photos though so I probably won't get rid of it right away. It's probably one of the reasons Olympus has discontinued the camera after less than 2 yrs. alseem 0 Posted November 16, 2005 Well I have the 8080 with the ikelite housing with the dome (i don't use the wide angle lens, just the dome port). Now just using the dome port without the wide angle lens increases the wide angle from ~54 deg to 76 deg and allows for zoom and macro (not well advertised). Using the dome port makes all the images appear 12" from the lens (only underwater). If you use manual focas and set the camera to 12" it dramatically cuys down the press to capture time. al Check out http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/ikelite..._c8080test.html for more info about using just the dome port.
