Hello!

Which forum do you post questions about setting up a gallery on your website? I really like gallery on Alex's site, which program?

Hi, this usually goes in the photo gallery or image processing, but it is fine if it is here too! ;) I believe that Alex makes his galleries with PS CS2, but I may be wrong. For a recent discussion about this take a look at this topic:

Alex as far as i know does use PS CS2 but some of his stuff is also custom i believe.

Flash galleries are coming a long way right now .. and are super protection for images.

not exactly a profit making resolution size file there though is it !

files grabbed that way may just pass on the web but wouldn't ever be worth printing.

No different than placing web-sized images on one's website without any 'protection'...

I like one called Exhibit Engine, it's very tweakable and it's free. You cas set up all kinds of resizing options and all commerce etc etc I have used it for some of my galleries, you can have a look at http://www.marjoaho.com/gallery (but beware, the color setup and tabs are customized on my site, however EE comes with some really good color and style schemes). You can get it at http://photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/ . Oh, and it's free.

Just a thought.... colors tend to jump out a little more on a darker background if you are able to put one in. Have a look at http://www.handlerphoto.com or my site.

The only problem with EE is that it has been supported now for a year and a half. That sort of thing makes me nervous. What is someone discovers an exploit in the code, at some point?

Having said that, I have EE running on my site:

http://echeng.com/gallery/

I used it for a few months and decided against its continued use...

Eric, Are you recommending changing gallery software on a regular basis? Or getting something that is more unusual or a not-free product?
