jungjohann 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Has anyone ever experienced any problems with a suunto d9 while using the digital housings with strobes. I just purchased the D9 and while diving in the Galapagos the computer gave errant readings. Suunto says its an inherent problem with magnetic impulses and the computer is fine. I say BS, for $1800 the computer should work regardless of whether I'm using strobes or not. Nothing in their literature stating otherwise. Anyone have any similar experience? Ron Boyes 0 Posted January 6, 2006 No problems so far with my D9, I use it as a backup to my Cobra. The strobes I am using are Nikon SB800 and 2 x Inon Z220's.
jungjohann 0 Posted January 6, 2006 I have the L&M wiht two Sea and Sea 125's. I'm thinking that there shouldn't be a problem
abowie 0 Posted January 6, 2006 I use a Vytec which I believe has a similar, if not the same, transmitter as the D9. I must have done 150 dives with it and a camera with strobes. Never a problem.
caminu 0 Posted January 10, 2006 I use D9 and Inon strobes. I did have problems getting the correct air reading sometimes, esp in the night dives. The reading got back to normal when I stopped using my camera for awhile.
kriptap 0 Posted January 10, 2006 Ha that's funny, while I was waiting for my DS125's I was using 2 sea &sea ys120's when I looked at my D9 underwater the strobes would interfere with the signal to the tank and the air reading on the D9 would not read the air left, if I move my hand off the camera just a little more away from the strobe then the air would read again, when I got my 125's it never happened with them.
