Geo1140 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Does anyone know or have a preference..Lexar 2 Gig 133x or the Sandisk 2 Gig Extreme III Is one better then the other or are they about the same? Getting ready to order some new cards and cant decide...They are the same price. Thanks Geo P.S. cards are going in a D70s
shark8matt 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Geo - I own two Lexar Pro 2 Gb (80x write speed) cards and they work great. I looked at reviews and they were just a hair slower than the extreme III but they are a haoir cheaper as well. The 133x write speed Lexar may be somewhat significantly faster than the extreme III then...if the prices are similar faster write speed never hurts for when you are shooting in burst mode (usually with filter as opposed to strobes)... cheers! - MDP
Steve Simonsen 0 Posted March 15, 2006 I've been using Lexar 1.2. and 4 gig cards. Out of six cards I've had problems with two. But they replaced them no questions asked. Be sure to get WA cards that stands for write accelleration. Steve
Jolly 3 Posted March 15, 2006 I've only used Sandisk Ultra/Extreme cards so far as they were the fastest ones at the time I bought the first card. I simply kept on buying the same brand and never had problems. Here is a nice CF card performance database for several DSLR cameras: http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007 Julian
Guest cor Posted March 15, 2006 I have a few Lexar cards, they work fine. I bought another 4GB card yesterday though and bought a Sandisk. I could get it slightly cheaper than a Lexar, and there really is no difference you're going to notice. Cor
TimG 62 Posted March 16, 2006 The Lexars x80 have been good for me.
betti154 5 Posted March 18, 2006 I had issues with a Lexar 80x and my Canon 350D. The camera kept erroring, especially in burst mode. After investigating this further, I found that I needed a firmware update on the card. This require me to send it back to Lexar, and they sent in it back within 10 days or so. It was annoying, but eventually the card work. I now use a Sandisk Extreme III 4GB, fo both size and speed. I think the firmware issue was on all CAnon SLRs, but am not sure. I doubt the bug exists in the latest model Lexar cards though. damien
