Udo van Dongen 5 Posted April 17, 2006 Depends on what type of water you're shooting in. I dive a lot in poor visibility waters so for macro i bought a Sigma 50 mm f/2.8 which enables you to focus really close to your subject. For wideangle i have the Nikkor 10.5 mm f/2.8 FE and for wideangle with worse visibility conditions i bought the Sigma 10-20 mm f/4.0-5.6.

Dive Rat 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Hi all, Anyone here have recommendations for Olympus E-300? Maybe I should have bought a Canon or Nikon, seems to be the preffered brands here on wetpixel! But alas, the money has been spent, lol Doug
RogerC 4 Posted April 18, 2006 I'm an Oly shooter, I don't think you'll be disappointed. My choices would be: 8mm or 7-14mm for wide (I chose the 7-14 for the flexibility and because I prefer the rectilinear lens in more situations, particularly on land. Don't get me wrong, I *love* a fisheye, but I wouldn't put it on as often as I put on the 7-14) 50mm or 100mm macro (100 is not out yet but may be my choice, I prefer extreme macro). Sigma 50-500 for topside. I'm surprised there weren't more topside lenses listed. Hey, all you nikon guys that said 105, is that for digital, much longer film equivalent?
