Can not say much, I just bought one [250]. Have not dived with it yet. Some peopel I bumped into swear by them. Mostly used by European divers although I have seen some Americans using them.

Look solid, well built [alu body], the battery pack as well as the flash tube with the reflector are modular and just plug at both the ends into the main body that has the electronics. Dials are big enough to be handled with thick gloves. Offshore quick charger is nice, very nice, compact, charges both Nicads and NiMH, about half the size of Ikelite's quick charger [and it is included in the price! Ikelite take note]. Very fast recycling even at full power [specs state 0.3sec with Nicads]. Costs 1450Eur compared with the 1000Eur of the DS200 here, but packs more power and a better, stronger body and no customs duties and expensive courier costs to ship overseas makes it a good choice for me.

Let's see how it performs under, so far by the tests I have done topside, I am...impressed?

I used a Hartenberger 125 TTL digital with my Coolpix995.

This worked very well and the flash was the most important part of my gear.

Fast recycle time. Did work "similar to TTL" with the sensor of the 995's pop-up flash.

But this strobe does not work TTL with DSLR and Hartenberger seems not to be interested to work on this issue.

The strobe models are not updated and I think Hartenberger nowadays focus more on light system than strobes.

It depends a lot on your camera and housing, which strobe will be the best choice for, but there are lots of people here, ready to give you advice.

Thilo
