sioldan 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Hi, Is there a way to get the 8080 converted or have an attachment to convert it to 15 mm? I checked the ikelite website (i have an ikelite housing) that makes it 22.4mm with the wide conversion lens and dome port. any suggestions? Danny
ce4jesus 1 Posted June 15, 2006 Danny, I use a Sea&Sea wet conversion lens for a Nikonos V camera on my Olympus SP350. I am completely thrilled with the lens. Its a 16mm lens. My only problem is that it clips (vignettes?) at the widest angle. A slight touch on the zoom fixes the problem. I'm not sure what the final conversion is but I'll be posting some pics I took in Cozumel in the next couple of days. Later, Gary
sioldan 0 Posted June 22, 2006 hi Gary, Thanks for the tip.. however I don't know if that would fit the Ikelite 8080 housing unless I buy the dome port and wide angle conversion lens. Danny
ce4jesus 1 Posted June 23, 2006 Hey Danny, I had to buy a 46mm to 58mm step up ring for it to screw onto the housing (I have an Oly PT-030). From what I know about the PT-023 its external threads should be about 58mm so you shouldn't have too much trouble converting. Because its a wet conversion lens, you don't need a port or dome. This is nice because I've also heard those ports for the PT-023 aren't secured in the best way. Simply screw the 16mm wet conversion lens on and your done. You can take it off underwater if you need to do a macro. I've been thrilled with the coverage results and posted some pics inside the photo thread. I think if you go in the do-it-yourself thread there's also a pool photo showing the increase in coverage. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with the lens and its versatility. I keep it on most of the time and rarely take it off. BTW...there are other WA lens manufacturers like epoque who will make stuff for your camera as well. My advice would be to try the Sea&Sea because you can get one on Ebay fairly cheap ($150)? You can sell it if for some reason it doesn't work. Anyway, go take a look at the pics later, Gary
sioldan 0 Posted June 23, 2006 Hello Gary, Thanks for those ideas... as I am new in the whole underwater digital photography world, I really don't know if there's a ring that could fit on the lens port of the ikelite housing for the olympus 8080 since there's no thread on the port. Will check your suggestions and pics later. Danny
Larry C 24 Posted June 28, 2006 The 8080 has a humongous port. This is the only thing I know of, and it costs a mint: http://www.fun-in.com.tw/catalog/pro...roducts_id=
Larry C 24 Posted June 28, 2006 I'll try again, that link didn't work. They may not have it anymore, though it still pops up on my original posting on Scubaboard. Here goes. http://www.fun-in.com.tw/catalog/product_i...products_id=

sioldan 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Yes i checked that site but using that combination will only give it a focal length of 22 mm.

sioldan 0 Posted July 9, 2006 hi thanks.. but i have an ikelite housing and not an olympus housing.. guess i have to settle with the ikelite domeport and converter lens of olympus *sigh*
mattdiver 0 Posted July 9, 2006 It may be possible to use the Inon wide angle lenses on your housing. You should check with your local Inon distributor if there's an adaptor for your housing. If there's one, you should check out the Inon 165-AD fisheye lens, which will give you the field of view you're after.
