Pedda 0 Posted October 9, 2006 I haven't used my 8" Dome since I got it three months ago but now I want to remove the body from the dome and send it to Ike for replacement. Which way should I screw the body? Clockwise or anti-clockwise? I've tried both ways but I can't get it loose and I don't want to use too much power without being sure which way to screw. rinjani 9 Posted October 9, 2006 Peter, it's like a normal screw-in system (looking at the base - clockwise to screw-in, anti-clockwise to screw-out). On mine I thought I going to break myself before I was able to remove it the first time. It took a fair amount of force to release it. rinjani
mattdiver 0 Posted October 10, 2006 You can also try immersing the port in very cold water prior to trying. It will shrink ever so slightly and make it easier to unscrew.
xtremediver 0 Posted October 10, 2006 (edited) "Righty tighty, lefty loosey" I use a strap wrench bought from Harbour Freight, it uses a rubber strap around the extension tube. Edited October 10, 2006 by xtremediver
dmoss 0 Posted October 10, 2006 Yep...a rubber strap wrench will do the trick. This was discussed back in June. Here's the link
John Bantin 101 Posted October 10, 2006 I think strap wrenches should be banned. We men would be totally obsolete if it was not for difficult jars of jam.
motionsync 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Peter my friend. I had the same problem with my Nexus and a extension ring one time.. was imposible to take away: A small port wrench ( belt wrench) will help. I got my from Yuzo and its work wonders. Lambis

Without us, who would the girls turn to for sweeping generalisations then, huh? Martyn Edited October 12, 2006 by Rattus
