Sea&Sea 16mm Wide Angle Conversion Lens

Recommended Posts

This is a used lens that I purchased used so it has some marks. Nothing that affects the outcome of pictures that I take. However, I've linked to the website of photos I took with this lens this year so you can see for yourself. Its always had a ding on the outside edge of the flat port but I've never seen it show up in the photos. It has some extremely light surface scratches at the outer edge. Again, nothing that shows up in my photos. The only reason I'm selling this is my wife found a brand new one, in the box for very cheap. These lenses sell for $140-$200 on Ebay and I paid $145 for this lens last year.

Why use a wet conversion lens?

1. You can remove it underwater and go from WA to macro.

2. There's no visible softening at the edges.

3. With the lens attached you can zoom in or out without blurring or distortion. (some vignetting at the widest possible angle but very little on my Oly housing..again see photos)

Here's the link to the photos http://www.cupsonline.net/MembersShowOff/M...88/Default.aspx

Asking price is $110 ... I'll entertain any reasonable offer until Sunday the 12th..at that point I'll list it on Ebay. If you're part of wetpixel, I'll guarantee that you're happy with the lens or you'll get a full refund minus your cost of shipping the lens back. Thanks,

PM me if you're interested.

Gary

Out of interest, is this the same as the one S&S made for the Nikonos ?

Yes. It is orginally made for a Nikonos V.

well for what its worth, I can testify that this is a great little lens - I actually used in preference over my 15mm prime lens on my NikV - although it wasn't quite as sharp it wasn't far off, and I could switch between that lens, the standard 35mm, and an Ocean optic close-up kit on a single dive - making for a very versatile little set-up - so I could go from this:
