Scuba_SI 39 Posted December 17, 2006 Hey Guys and Gals, i just saw my first HD broadcast of a documentary that was actually worth seeing! I know Deep Blue and Blue Planet are old news but to see it in full HD Glory was pretty awesome! There were a couple of scenes which to me looked like they were shot with a PD150 then scaled up to HD, i doubt the average viewer would notice it, but im sure all you lot would! The shots of the Orca playing with the juvenile seal were amazing, you could see the droplets of blood coming out of the poor fella when he got tail-slapped into the air. The underwater stuff from cocos was pretty amazing too, and you can definitely tell the difference between the SD version and the HD version, but i think the chance of anyone going there now and seeing that many sharks are pretty slim Looking forward to Planet Earth being shown on HD now! Drew 0 Posted December 18, 2006 Even more amazing is about 25% of the uw stuff was done in digibeta and DV (single and 3 chip) and uprezzed by the guys at VTR (ok they have 2 girls on the team) using FilmLight from Lortec. Amazing digital transfer and post upres.
