Missing toobars

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

When I view the wetpixel homepage none of the links across the top are visible ie. forums, contests, etc. In order to get to the forums page I have to add "/forum" to the URL. Wondering if there is a setting that I haven't been able to find that will correct this?

I have tried turning off Norton but no change. The ads on the right margin don't show with it activated and do show when deactivated but no tool bar in either case. I have also added Wetpixel to my trusted sites via the control panel internet security function, but no change.

hoping someone can help.

Bill

What broswer are you using?

Maybe download another one like firefox and see how it looks with that.

Nortons is notorious for taking over ones computer. I have even found viruses even after Nortons has done a scan with all it's updates anyhow.

Try emptying cache, and reload. They are working fine with mozilla firefox.

Can you do a print screen and show us? hold the Ctrl, Alt and press the "print screen" button, then you will capture the whole screen and paste it into photoshop, then upload the image.

That's strange... I mostly use firefox, but I have IE too, and I just tested it. It looks normal in mine (I have the most recent IE 7 too).

Have you tried disabling whatever is blocking your ads? Maybe it thinks the menu system is one large ad...

Hi Eric,

yep, tried that...no change. Using Norton Internet Security. Deactivated the ads appear but still no menu bar. Very strange as I don't experience this with other web sites.

great site by the way. thanks for all you do to keep this up and running.

Okay, that's a start, now if you can post the source of the page you are viewing in .txt file. So go to the page button up top, the select source and post the content here.

To post source, make sure you wrap the text in [ code ] [ / code ] tags (with no spaces). Otherwise, it isn't going to work so well. :)

Here you go Kriptap. I have now entered the world of Star Trek in so much as I am boldly going where I have not gone before.

I see you hail from the Cayman Islands. I was the divemaster/instructor at the Tortuga Club on Grand Cayman more years ago than I care to count. That and the Cayman Diving Lodge were the only two dive operations on that end of the Island at that time. The Tortuga Club was a relatively small operation then. I think it has grown tremendously since I was there. At any rate...didn't mean to bore you with all of that...thanks for helping me.

Members pressed on, and after only 10 days of protest, a major corporation has pulled an objectionable product line from their offering. This is an impressive feat—a testament to the power of the internet to inform and drive action. In the uphill battle to save shark populations from extinction, there are some wins. Way to go, folks!

The next step is to impress upon Amazon the importance of taking a public stand against trade of endangered species (in this case sharks). Take a moment to send a communication to Amazon voicing your support for their immediate action and asking them to take this stand (customer service at <script type="text/javascript">

JVC showcased their HDD <a href="http://www.jvc.com/press/index.jsp?item=544&pageID">Everio GZ-HD7</a>. The 3CCD camcorder uses the AVCHD codec, writing to a 60GB hard disk for up to 5 hours of HD recording and more at lower resolutions. Fujinon supplies the 10X optical lens and also the mounting system for the 3 1/5” CCDs.

Sanyo presented the successor for the Xacti VPC-HD1, the <a href="http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/01/08/xacti/index.php">Xacti VPC-HD2</a>. Boasting to be the smallest HD camcorder, the little camcorder shoots 720P Mpeg4 onto SDHC memory cards. And it can shoot 7 megapixel still pictures as well.

Okay this is what I see and what to try to fix it.

The menu bar is placed on the home page via Java Script, if Java is disabled in your browser then that would hide your menu.

So first go to your internet options, tool, internet options.

First security Tab, make sure security is set to medium-high,

Next Privacy tab, set to medium

And last and most important, Advanced tab, and choose restore advanced settings, close your browser and open it again, go to wetpixel and see, if still not come back and follow the rest:

Go back to the Security tab, click the custom button, and scroll down looking for the scripting section close to the bottom, you'll see a tab called scritping of java applets, make sure it is enabled.

While you do all this make sure any antispyware programs are off.

And let us know.

Nothin'

Followed your suggestions exactly...a couple of times...and even rebooted. No change. Considering a reset at this point to see if that changes anything :)

I'm sure it's a java issue, down load Sun Java and try it again, if this does not work, do you use MSN messinger? if you do I could remote over to your computer and take a look.

Firefox fixed the menu bar problem. The forum screen is much wider and doesn't fit on screen near as well (left to right) Looking for a way to adjust that now.

Thanks to everyone for helping. At least I have the menu bar problem fixed.

Bill
