wagsy 0 Posted February 14, 2007 Got to love this Daylight saving stupidity in north Western Australia. Here we are it's 6 pm and its 43.6 degrees and we still have to wait 3 more hours till it gets dark. Pity those with kids.....
Alex_Mustard 0 Posted February 14, 2007 Move to Sydney - it always rains there - no wonder so many Australians move to England! Everytime I tune in to watch a sporting event in Sydney (like the cricket at the weekend) or the rugby world cup (a few years ago) it is always peeing with rain. Considering where you live you could always get in the ocean. Here it is grey skies and low cloud. An English speciality! Alex
wagsy 0 Posted February 14, 2007 Yeh Alex it always rains over that part of AUS. It only rains here maybe once or twice a year. Yes we plan to go out tomorow in the dirty GULF for a dive if we get in front of our work abit. Trouble is that in town and Gulf it's hot as with no wind while out on the water it's 30 knotts were the good sites are .

markdhanlon 0 Posted February 14, 2007 If you think it's hard getting kids to bed when it's light until 9pm, my wife grew up in Ft. McMurray, which is in Northern Alberta, Canada. In the summer it's light until almost midnight and sunrise is before 4am.
Hawkfish 0 Posted February 15, 2007 (edited) Hmmm; had to spend 1/2 an hour with a scraper whacking at the ice on the car this afternoon. The driver's side door was frozen shut, the pax side door still busted from the December breakin w/crowbar so had to pry the hatch open and climb thru to put shoulder against driver's side door to break ice to open door. Then spent the rest of the time in the 50 mph (so, 70ish kph) wind scraping. To say I'm pining for the Seychelles would be and understatement. Dark at 5:30 pm, an improvement from the 4:30pm of a month ago. Edited February 15, 2007 by Hawkfish
Poliwog 4 Posted February 15, 2007 Spent 2 hours with the snowblower cleaning the driveway after about 60 cm of snow fell in less than 24 hours. This was after I was able to dig my way with a snow shovel to the shed to get the snowblower. It's a balmy -10º C, up from -25º C with the windchill factor for yesterday morning. I hear we have another storm coming within the next day or two. If you want the Sun around here, best thing to do is go about 2000 Kms south.
ce4jesus 1 Posted February 16, 2007 I still have snow from Christmas lining my driveway. Temp is a balmy 16 F degrees. Its suppose to reach 50 F next week though. I'll have to unpack the shorts.
