MikeVeitch 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Just saw this on Yahoo. Our friends the commercial fishermen once again... http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070403/lf_nm/...es_lifestyle_dc
shawnh 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I can't find anything optimistic to say...sometimes it is overwhelmingly depressing the degree to which commercial fishing is devestating our oceans. I think of it as the great buffalo slaugher in the US old west, but sadly of a far greater magnitude. It is for this reason that I have totally sworn off seafood. I just don't believe in this day in age that you can have any confidence that your food is captured in a non-destructive and sustainable manner. Every day that passes, the concept of sustainable fisheries slips further from the realm of possible.
LChan 0 Posted April 4, 2007 pathetic. I actually have a firm belief that there will be a time in the very near future where I will sell all of my beloved camera gear, housing, and scuba gear. There won't be anymore ocean life to see.
DeanB 19 Posted April 4, 2007 Larry, that would be a very sad day.. This is why we need our lenses to promote our oceans for people to 'Wow' at..not the usual cannot see cannot hear, does not effect me. A sad day when our images are a visual library of 'what was'...
