fras 0 Posted May 8, 2007 Any experiences? I have a Heinrichs converter but have a lot of problems with it. I read other threads but not found all the answer that I need. How performs? Results are predectible and consistent? Works well with Subal housing (D2oo)? Any experience with subtronics (minis) ' Cheers

Canuck 3 Posted May 14, 2007 I *think* the Sea & Sea converter is in fact a packaged Heinrich's converter, so they are one and the same. Can anyone confirm?
okuma 64 Posted May 15, 2007 My understanding is the Sea & Sea converter is in fact a packaged Heinrich's converterbut with a larger battery and the adjustment is external to the housing. We're just getting our's dialed in in pool practice. Had to adjust camera flash compensation to -1.7 to get the converters range in correct exposure.
bruceterrill 0 Posted May 15, 2007 Hi Okuma, I too am trying to get my D70S with Nexus housing and the S&S i-TTL 'gizmo' dialled in. We're just getting our's dialed in in pool practice. Had to adjust camera flash compensation to -1.7 to get the converters range in correct exposure. How do you judge the exposure to be "correct exposure"? Is there a chart or are you using light meters or what? Is "correct exposure" subjective?? I am at a total loss as to where to start with this 'dialing in' process... Thanks for taking the time, Bruce

Thanks for taking the time, Bruce Hello Bruce! The histogram is the "truth" . I think there are two ways of working: - For RAW pictures that are going to be RAW post processed etc... you should try to obtain a histogram as close to the right without burnt areas (or only burnt areas such as the sun which is always burnt). Jpges obtained this way look ugly but their RAWs have a lot info and a higher signal/noise ratio. - For JPG pics that will be more or less used straight out of the camera you should try to find your personal taste and kind of pictures histogram (usually centered or a little bit to the left) and learn to identify the image you get in your camera screen with the one you get at home in your computer.
