markdhanlon 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Please help me. My Ikelite DS-125 has died while in the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia. I am going to be in Bangkok for a week in two days and hope to order a replacement to there. Does anyone know of a good shop to order from who can accomplish this task? I normally order from Ryan at Reef Photo, but I'm not in Canada at the moment. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and I would prefer an asian company as the shipping will probably be less. Thanks.

expatdiver 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Second for Scuba Cam. I flooded my housing a couple of years ago a week before my trip to Lembeh. I had about three hours in Singapore and they kept the shop open late for me. Plus they keep a good inventory. There are a couple of dealers in Bangkok, but emails went unanswered and phone calls just lead to 'he no here today, call tomorrow.'
Alex_Mustard 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Another vote for ScubaCam in Singapore. And I would also add that filter photography can be very effective for schools, turtles and coral gardens at Sipadan (although with the cold water upwelling today everywhere was a bit green). vkalia 1 Posted May 30, 2007 Malaysia seems to be a strobe killer. I am in Layang Layang, and somewhere during my travels, the wiring of my ETTL circuit board came loose and my strobes stopped firing. Had to cut it all out and go with manual triggering. Back to the point - since the OP was asking for a dealer in Thailand/Bangkok - well, I dont know anyone in BKK, but you can try One Stop/Dive Supply. They are based in Krabi, but can deliver to Bangkok. I dont have their website, but I am sure it will turn up on Google. They carry Ike. Vandit PS: Alex, how long are you in Sipadan? We get there on the 5th. LL has been quite disappointing for photography - decent sightings, but too far to shoot and LOTS of divers in the water.
