Just got an email from them today saying i should log in to see where my images placed...

 

Is the semi-fainal stage published? Im guessing no because they didnt ask for any originals of the images in the 'semi final' group. Do they keep the copyright for those images too?

semi final stage no published, no copyright for those.

 

I don't believe they keep the copyright for the winners either, just usage for promotional stuff.

Dont they keep promo use for 25yrs or something though? Say if you wanted to sell an image and they asked for complete copyright exclusivity, you cant offer it if your image has placed in the BBC thing, or so i am led to believe, by someone much older and wiser than myself.

 

I figured them putting all the entries in the semi final stage might e a sneaky way to get lots of free images for calendars, magazine suppliments etc for the next 25years.
