Islandbound 1 Posted July 19, 2007 Alex In your review of the Nikon 105VR you said that your 3rd party TC would allow the VR lens to autofocus. What brand and strenght was the teleconverter that you used?

Alex_Mustard 0 Posted July 24, 2007 Sorry for the slow reply. I have not researched the subject exhaustively, but the 105mm VR works with the only Teleconverter I own - a Kenko 1.5x TC. Generally I use this TC with my 10.5mm Fisheye - since I own a 150mm Sigma macro lens I haven't bothered using the TC on te 105mm VR underwater. Alex
Islandbound 1 Posted July 24, 2007 Hmm, that leads to another question then. Do you prefer the 150mm Sigma lens over the Nikon 105vr lens for macro photography? (or am I reading too much into this?)
Alex_Mustard 0 Posted July 25, 2007 No. I much prefer the 105mm. The 150mm (on a cropped sensor camera) is too long to be practical most of the time. It does have a role - but it is a niche lens, rather than an underwater workhorse lens. Alex
