Lndr 0 Posted August 14, 2007 When I took this photo I assumed it was a juvenile banded coral shrimp. This was because there were two adults on a large barrel sponge, and three of these small shrimp. I haven't been able to confirm my ID though ... can somebody help?
Leslie 0 Posted August 15, 2007 It took me more time to figure out what a "banded coral shrimp" is than to recognize your little guy. He's not a juvenile, he's a cleaner shrimp known as Urocaridella sp B in the Japanese guidebooks. It's often incorrectly called Urocaridella antonbruuni. Leslie 0 Posted August 17, 2007 If I was under all my scientific books thye'd have to list me as "Creatura flattus"! You all might enjoy this article about discovering and naming a new family.
